Forgiveness is not easy. But we must forgive, even if the offender doesn’t ask for forgiveness and even if we don’t feel like it.
In this message, Pastor Lutzer lists six misconceptions about forgiveness-misconceptions we may have been taught or simply believe because of the circumstances or culture that we live in. As Pastor goes through each one, he explains, from a biblical viewpoint, why the misconception is wrong.
For those not convinced of the need of forgiving someone, consider this: what could be more unfair than a sinless, spotless Son of God-having laid upon Him iniquities that He never committed, to die for people who are rebellious, to pay their price so that you and I could freely believe and be acquitted by God?
Having been forgiven by God, we must forgive.

I think this is so much deeper than this in some situations. This seems so clear-cut, but when someone doesn't change even after forgiveness, you're open to being stepped on over and over and hurt over and over bc they really didn't care. And when criminal activity and patterns happen then sometimes action does need to be taken. The civil rights movement needed to happen plus forgiveness for the racism and oppression.

there was this celebrity in the philippines where she forgave the murderer who murdered her mother...she went to the prison, brought some food and gives for that man, talked with him in the jail and gave him a good hug while she was crying...she said it released her from years of hatred...it was her testimony...
Another woman also in the philippines was raped by men inside their home while her parents were away...and she still forgave them..and now she's full of joy, have a husband and children who loves her very much...
