  • Asset Allocation is vital to maximize risk adjusted returns. Different Asset Classes perform well at different times. Hybrid Funds invest in a mix of Equity and Debt securities. So investors get the opportunity to participate in different asset classes through Hybrid Funds. Continue to invest in Debt Funds, Gold Funds and International Funds despite the new taxation rules for Debt Funds. You need these investments to diversify your mutual fund portfolio. Conservative Investors who don’t want to take too much risk with Equities can look at Conservative Hybrid Funds for the Mutual Fund Portfolio. They can also look at Equity Savings Hybrid Funds. You can invest in Index Funds if you want returns that match the market. Otherwise, you can try Large Cap Funds, Flexi Cap Funds, Multi Cap Funds if you want market beating returns. Do not have too much allocation in Sector Funds and Thematic Funds. Invest in these funds only if you understand the investment. Do not underestimate the Power of Compounding with Equity Funds. Stick with SIPs in Equity Funds for the Long Term. Sound investment, Time and patience help you build wealth over the long term.

The more we Indians invest in mutual funds, the more taxes government will levy on us.
What is going on right now, people depositing crazy amounts of money in mutual funds, common sense dictates that govt will apply more taxes year by year.

@Groww Please change the host. Lack of involvement in conversation is being felt. Neeraj Arora can be the demanding host or Namrata can be the host at least.

Guest speaker is recommending to continue investing in ELSS funds, when there is no clear advantage now to invest in them.
ELSS funds have more EXPENSE RATIO than most equity funds.
So ELSS funds give more commission to fund houses like HDFC MF house.
    BEWARE ALL!
