- This line was designed as a trout line for throwing big flies, tight to the shore. It's backloaded head turns over really well with large flies, even at distance. This line would be perfect for stoneflies, hoppers, and light streamers. I have used it for both trout dry fly fishing, and even some light bass flies. Super happy with this line, but it's not the best for tiny dries. They hit the water a little too hard.

as well as my casting stroke has gotten in my life, I envy how effortless and precise you cast!
Oh thank you so much, I sure love fly casting.
Very very interesting!! Thanks!!
Could this be used when wader fishing for steelhead, casting up and cross stream. I mainly fish North Calif area? Using a double nymph set up under an indicator...tia.
❤❤❤🎉😊😊
I wish they would make this line in a 4wt for my hoppers and hopper dropper rig
It's funny you mention that, I actually just learned this only comes in 5/6 as I wanted to do the exact same thing! I'll mention this to RIO. I just put fresh lines on both my 5 and 6 weight R8 rods.
Rio “Bankrobber”. Yup.
What wt line Mr Joe ?
5 weight line on a 5 weight Sage X.
Is this the successor of the Big Nasty?
Great question. Not really, the Warmwater Predator is a closer match to that. This line has a pretty fine tip good for dry fly fishing with big bugs more-so than streamers IMO.
Airflo will last twice as long, or more
Rio cant even make quality tippet. No reason to trust the fly lines. I have complained twice about tippet and they could care less.
What was wrong with the tippet? I think they test it pretty regularly. I primarily use SA but primarily because of the packaging, not the tippet as much.
