Huge difference! I keep all my figures in a temp controlled room with zero sunlight/ completely blacked out, have 2 high-end air purifiers running 24/7, dehumidifier in the summer, and have my moducases dust proofed, but I'm definitely getting this just for that extra protection.
Yeah same here tbh mate!! Black out blind was the first thing that went up when I was setting this up as the collection room. Got a dehumidifier too but could definitely do with a purifier to reduce dust etc. 👊🏻
Good to know there's a single product for maintaining figures. I'm currently using Trinova faux leather conditioner & 303 UV Protectant for the rest of the figure/components. Getting tired of having to use 2 separate products. Keep the channel posted on how the figures do over time while using this product!
I always thought Tarkin was thinking that Vader got a little too arrogant there for a moment. It's ironic because Tarkin failed to see the flaw as well!
Can be used on painted head sculpts according to the website (but I have not done that yet tbh). Prices will vary depending on your location and what combo of things is being shipped. UK prices are about £8 for the brush, £40 for the solution by the looks of it, not sure about the cloth. Good one re: Tarkin 😅
@@TK421Collectibles I checked the website. They want more on shipping than the full product cost. On ebay, the individual products are less. I may just splurge on the full thing. It looks like a great product. €75...unless of course if you feel the urge to send me a kit.
Thanks for the info, I just would be too scared to spray on a headsculpt😮but great for helmeted figures….. hours of cleaning ahead with your stellar collection😂have a good night 👍
@@andrewmeloy9604 yeah I know what you mean re: the non-helmeted figures! Haha don't think I will be doing the whole collection tbh it would take me most of the year 😅 Cheers for watching Andrew!
This is something worthwhile to check . Im currently using protecting coating to protect mainly from pleather flaking but this also has a barrier for dust . Great that I can get this from Malaysia as well. Awesome information man. cheers
My 40th Anniversary Vader remained in his box for quite a few months before I got my Moducases, that shiny black helmet is just a dust magnet! This product looks like a game changer if you're short on display case space!
IMO, Tarkin was expressing a moment of shock and disbelief at Vader's declaration that Obi-Wan Kenobi was gone. Tarkin knows that "no one's ever truly gone" especially in the Star Wars universe 😂😂😂
Love those Tarkin and Palpatine inserts! 😂😂 I could do with something like this, if only for my Deathtrooper Specialist's pauldron as it's quite grey and dull, although I do actually think it's supposed to be like that, rather than shiny black. But I would like to give it a bit of a darker gloss. You wiping the Squad Leader's face made me laugh as it reminded me of when my mum used to put a bit of spit on a tissue to wipe my face as a kid! 😝😝 Not sure if that was a thing in the late 70s/early 80s or whether she was just being gross! 🤣 Good vid, mate. 👍
Hahah yeah pushing in some ANH clips on this one! And yeah it might give the pauldron a bit of extra protection against flaking but realistically I think UK humidity levels shouldn't cause any issues. And yes!! Parents definitely used to do that in the 70s/80s, I also have first hand experience of that phenomenon 🤣🤣🤣 I'm glad of it though, I think thats why my immune system is 100% operational! 😅
@@TK421Collectibles Yeah, I'm not really worried about flaking - it's more for aesthetic purposes, tbh. The dull, grey pauldron on that shiny, black armour looks a bit lacking. 😂😂 Aah, those old-school cleanliness methods! 😂
Tarkin's expression, thinking to himself: "Another frickin footprints-in-the-sand base! And the footprints don't even match the figure! What the f__K, Hot Toys!" That's my interpretation, and I'm sticking to it. Unless I change it.
Yeah maybe!! Not 100% sure on that one although they do specifically say it restores older models/figures! I guess with vintage stuff you'd want to try it on an inconspicuous area of the figure first 👍🏻 Thanks for watching 👊🏻
To me, Tarkin’s expression is twofold: One of disappointment and disgust at Vader’s continued obsession with Kenobi even after his death (see the left eye brow raise after Vader says Kenobi). Vader was likely the only imperial who cared about Kenobi by this point, even the Emperor did not care about Kenobi anymore. Second, when Tarkin turns it seems to me like a expression of confusion. Vader initially criticized the Death Star in the scene with Admiral Motto: “Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force." And now Vader has seemingly gone back slightly on his original statement. Alternatively, maybe Tarkin thinks Vader is being too overconfident that destroying the Yavin 4 base would put an end to the rebellion entirely.
Be interested to see how the dust repellent stands up over time. I’m too lazy to apply it to many figures, but might for the figures/vehicles I’ve got on top of cabinets.
Yes I'm exactly the same. Probably not going to apply it to 100+ figures as that will take days of effort! But will definitely be using it mainly for the pieces that sit on top of the cabinets 👍🏻
@@WarrenL-yu1hh Yes!! And I need to put it on the speeder bikes too and the other 1/4 scales! Not even sure that AT-RT will fit on top of the detolf tbh 🤣 If its much taller than 1/4 Vader it will be scraping against the ceiling!
@@TK421Collectibles There is ‘park mode’ position for the RT. Not the same impact as stood up properly but cheaper that getting a Hot Toys skylight put into the collection room!
@@WarrenL-yu1hh ah ok forgot about that tbh! Yeah definitely doesn't have the same impact all folded up. Just checked the height and it says 64cm so if thats including the giant antenna then it *may* just fit on top of the detolf as you're right extending the room upwards would be cost prohibitive I think! 🤣

They're all Ikea Detolfs mate! Discontinued now though but their alternative is called the Blaliden - but its a bit smaller and has a black/white frame (so can slightly obscure the figures from some angles)!
Brave of you to risk your figures lad ,lucky it worked out good . Liked the brush ,damned decent of Mrs T K to sacrifice her beauty regime for your figures obviously think they Revlon (worth it ).
You made me laugh when you said about the sand in the beginning. In that scene, I think Tarkin is expressing his acknowledgement that Vader is growing in power and the scope of him ending the rebellion which is a big thing, that is when he thinks, oh damn, maybe Vader is getting too powerful and perhaps this is something I should keep an eye on. The bigger question is... why is a product for cleaning hot toys called gun primer?? 🤣
@@TALON80s honestly I've never been sure but seen a couple of ideas in the comments now that are really good. Think it'll have to be a randomised draw for the winners because its going to be too difficult to pick otherwise!
Wouldn't it be better, to dust first then spray on the solution???🤔 Because, if there's small particles of dirt, you could scratch certain areas. That's like beginning to wash your car. You rinse off the surface dirt, then water soap
Hmm yeah thats a good point actually. The dust on the figures was really fine, not like gritty or anything but yeah I know what you mean re: washing the car. Cheers for the comment 👊🏻
This looks really good. Think they needed to send you a much bigger bottle, with the size of your collection bud lol 😊. It would take ages to do but be worth it in the end.
