I got this bag for my European vacation and it has been so great! It’s the perfect size and fits quite a bit of stuff. I wouldn’t have found it without this video. Thank you!
I just ordered one of these. This review helped me decide between this and the FreeFly. The Refraction looks more like a regular bag so I think it will be more multipurpose for me. Plus I like the color options.
Right now I say I will still use the OnGrid-Backpack over the ReFraction due to some design choices: - A dedicated laptop sleeve inside the main compartment in a packable backpack is unique; a shame that they cut it in their new iteration (it's also a good place to put some cushion plates for for the back panel) - The secondary compartment has a zippered 'security' pocket where for me I can put stuff like a wallet or keys - The grab handle was better designed That being said the ReFraction looks good as the successful follow-up and for me I like it more than one of my other backpacks, the Bellroy Lite Daypack.
I actually just bought the On-Grid a few weeks ago (haven't had the chance to use it yet however) for the dedicated laptop compartment in a packable daypack. I was initially pissed they came out with this before I was able to use mine but now I"m a bit more relieved due to this missing feature.
@@technojust Matador has already phased it out. You have to look at third-party-distributors, some of them still have it in stock. In Europe shops like Mukama still has it.
I got one of these and it was shockingly small. It's nice enough but I gave it to a friend after using it on a trip. It was just too small. Ended up with a rennen ripstop, not as packable but the 22l is more usable for me than this 16l bag. I think the bag is more like 14l but they are counting the max stretch of the water bottle pockets too.
To Matador. You should be paying her to do your videos! How can you not even show a good video in your website??? The video cannot even handle playing a video! To show how to pack this packable backpack! Load page time is very slow.

Wow! This is cool! Did you get a special early release look at these bags? I hadn't even heard of these until this video came out.
Yup 😃
I would think carrying a small umbrella in the outside water pocket could be useful.
How is the comfort compared to the Beast18? Deciding between ReFraction and the Beast and so I'm trying to see if it's worth the price difference!
Comfort in terms of what purpose? They are entirely different packs with different purposes.
Will this fit a 14 inch laptop in a padded sleeve?
did you find the info? i was wondering the same thing
@@batina7554 I ended up buying this and it can fit a 14 inch laptop with or without a laptop sleeve.
It's a super cool lightweight bag
i saw someone in the comments said yes it can fit
Can this fit a laptop?
Same question, Would this fit 14inch macbook pro?
I just bought it today and it fits my 15inch macbook! Just very snugly at the top even with sleeve case
Interesting to see in almost every Matador bag review loose stitches... they should work up their quality control
Is it waterproof?
can it fit a laptop?
No laptop compartment? What a missed opportunity
