Glad you got it sorted ! I’d have kept the mudflaps, does help to protect the paintwork, especially the front flaps, those window deflectors had to go though 👍...looking forward to the next vid 👌

Radial pull, have had same issues in the past. Can be very serious and sometimes you can have the steering wheel completely off centre when driving. I found Dunlops were bad for it on my Escort and my Toyota work car years ago. My mum has a Volvo v40 t5 from brand new and has had same issues with tyre wear and radial pull.
We’ve been talking about this comment all day today. Can’t believe someone has binged anything with us 2 waffling nonsense for an hour or so. Your support means a lot 👍🏼

Brilliant video glad to got your tyres sorted and the torque steer issue, when doing launch control you have to side step the clutch rather lift the clutch cheers steve 👍 😀
My experience with tires on a new RS was bad. A new set of Mich AS/3+ and one front tire had a 1/2" larger circumference than the others. Caused bad light power steer issue with pull under low power and opposite steering under deceleration. Really weird and hard to find. But I found it and TireRack USA sent me two new front tires and reimbursed me for the mounting and balancing. Good for them but it took me months to figure it out. I thought there was something really wrong with the chassis. FYI, all four tires on an RS need to have to same circumference while inflated!
@@SIBUK omg it took a while thinking and reading. Then did most of the tire pull diag procedure on the TireRack site and then did more reading and finally measured the tires inflated and deflated once off the rims outer and inner tread circumference. If it were in the rear it would've been even harder to find. I read that some bad radial tires have off centered belts manufactured that allow the tire to grow when @ pressure therefore causing a tire pull due to the conical shape of the tire. The tire that is bigger makes the car pull to the opposite side bc it is traveling farther every rotation just like a rolling cup. I did my measurements with a string but now bought a tire tape measure and will use it religiously in the future. btw - the RS has (PDC), pull drift compensation programmed into the AWD system so I think that was compensating for the larger tire when under high load and it would drive straight.. It would only happen at very low throttle and decelerations. So weird, I totally thought the chassis was f***ed. I had the car aligned three times bc of this and it had 7000mi on it.
Great videos! I had a similar front tyre problem on my MK3 focus st, I'd really recommend going to get a proper 4 wheel alignment check & look at upgrading the lower rear engine mount too. Keep up the good work!
Good video mate!! Another tell tell sign of any Mountune map being on the car would be to check the Re Circulation valve, the FPM375 kit comes with the black induction hoses like you have and the Re Circ valve fitted! You might wanna consider a sound suppression chamber as well to stop the whistle while flooring it! Btw are the mudflaps genuine Mountune ones as I would be interested in them 👌🏻
Replaced a set of Conti Sprort 6 on the front of my M3 that still had 2.5 mm of tread like for like. Had the car aligned and its a different drive. Performance cars don't like tyres worn to a level that's acceptable on everyday cars. Having said that the wear pattern on the Focus tyres suggests a big problem with the front suspension.
Hi mate. We had the camber checked after the tyres were fitted and it was all well within tolerance 🤷🏼♂️ it’s also had a new clutch since this video was released
Those Michelin Sport 4S are great tires & look sharp. I like that you took off the window visor things & mud flaps, looks so much cleaner. Honestly, it’s a great looking car for sure & nitrous blue will turn some heads.
Hey guys....yes the alignment will be important too. I still have an inequality in the front camber which can cause a pull. But it has lessened as the new tires have run in. I've had three alignments since I got it lol bc of the tire problem. I finally had to do a tie rod end adjustment myself to get the wheel and steering to be straight. Nobody knows or cares what they are doing any more. I think in the UK you have really good car techs who care!
I have mine on a 3 years ervice plan and Ford do a Tracking check as part of the service on basic tracking set up. --interesting that perhaps some cars suffered coming of the production line?? You shouldn’t be driving about in it. Yes the dampers are stiff but that’s how it is. Launch control is a setting you have to engage. You can’t just rev the engine and let the clutch out. As for the slipping clutch. With that mileage it’s not unusual. Maybe the previous owner rode the clutch. Ford clutches aren’t known for being long lasting. The tyres have definitely transformed the car with now hardly any if any torque steer at all. I was looking at the RS Edition cars but I couldn’t justify the extra money just for the diff. The recall was done at the main dealer so all is well with that. Thanks for all the info and I’m hopeful that the car will be good 👍

Funny thing I like wind deflectors on two door cars but definitely agree that on a four door they look shit.. I might just try fitting wind deflectors to the front windows but leave off back..
Glad to see the torque steer of doom has gone! Mad what some new front tyres has done! Looks more streamline without the deflectors for sure. What’s the weight saving without the deflectors and mud flaps 😄
You can’t beat some New Rubber mate, I have a 2013 St mapped, I couldn’t put the power down in 1st and second gear with the tyres that were on it. Put some Pirelli’s on it x And what a difference, it puts the power down great Now 🤙
Nice video man, I didn't really think about the possibility of the tyres causing a load of torque steer but glad you got it sorted, you plan on doing anything with it or just leaving it stock? Also, if you don't want the window protectors i'll have em 😂

Good result that. I had heard that tyres have the biggest effect on torque steer veering steering. It was good to see video of immediate effect rather than just reading opinions.
Great vid... I very much doubt the RS has been Mountuned... My brother had his RS done the week he bought it at Mountune and they won’t let you leave until they have put the Ford Performance badge on the back... Unless of course somebody has pinched the badge - But it’s not actually a Mountune badge... Be interesting to see what they Mountune have to say...
It’s Ford Transit intercooler blanking plate to reduce issues caused in high humidity countries. You’d be better replacing the intercooler with a better one.
P.S If you cannot tell the difference in ride ( or there is no difference) between normal and sport damper settings, someone may have damaged the wires at the top of one of the struts IF or when they may have changed the springs while refitting the front struts, do the springs look factory? I believe some Mountune springs were black and looked like standard springs, I think the blue mountune springs suffered with paint flaking off and premature rusting. Your ride def looks a lot bumpier and harder than std too !!
trance & bass It wouldn’t hurt to upgrade them but being front wheel I can’t say it will do much from a dig but maybe make a difference in a role or coming out of a corner being more stable.
Launch control is a pain in the arse!! You have to go into settings go into driving assist and it’s there.. I’ve got a dreamscience map that’s auto launch 🚀💎👍
Steve BHP DEVON I remember trying to have a race at the lights and by the time I got to launch control they was gone hahaha... yeah I heard mountune also did that with launch control 👍 helps a lot lol

Some Mk3 focus ST owner's fixed torque steer with uprated lower mount and fitting quaife lsd, in suffering torque steer and wheel hop of judder, be worth looking in a research of this and possible fitting these uprated mods, that the mk3 focus ST owner's did to fix it and defo a chat with a good reputable mechanical tuner on it, as they will be knowledgeable on fixes and possible in torque vectoring, disable compensation as well
My brand new RS, in 2017, torque steered from the day I collected it. Well, more like the steering veered to the right, sometimes quite violently. That and the bouncy ride led to me selling the RS 2 months later, shortest time I've had a car. I loved how it looked and it felt special but as soon as I heard about the head gasket issues, on top of everything else I got rid. Shame really, should have been the dream car. A modern day EVO I thought. Love your GTR BTW, the best colour.
step0601 Mine was just the same from new, always a dream to have the RS but in the end I just had no confidence in it. Chopped it in for a 2.0l Audi A4 Avant. As much as I loved the rs I’ve never regretted the decision, Audi is almost as quick & it’s rock solid on the road.
Greetings from Australia! Good to hear new tyres fixed the torque steer issue. We also have a MK3 Focus RS and it has no torque steer at all. Was going to suggest you check the tyres and wheel alignment before condemning the car as a torque steering pig. With regard to the clutch ... definitely needs replacing as the slip will only get worse. The clutch on these are pretty reliable if not abused through poor driving habits and excessive launches. Was a joy to see you remove the mud flaps from your RS as they look shite! Can I make a suggestion with your wheels? If you are going to refurbish them why not strip the black off them and make them silver. I think they are a terrific looking wheel but hate them in black (I hate black wheels) as black just looses all definition of where the wheel ends and the tyre begins. Just a suggestion as it would be a nice point of difference on your RS having silver forged wheels. (Subscribed)
Nice to see the Torque Steer has gone... you want to be using launch control, if you want to do it off the lights you have to have the menu already open😂 looks much better without those ‘mods’ Cheers, Oliver.
Cheap tip... go on national tyres website and order your pilot sport 4’s online they only cost 106. That’s fitted too I have an 350bhp ST and fly through tyres so handy tip for you 👍🏼
samsonyunited is yours a later model? I didn’t actually see the door myself, the guy fitting the tyres looked at it and I asked him what it said. I’m going to have to look myself now 🤔
Remember there’s figures for a full load of passengers as well that are 4/5 psi higher. My Hyundai I30N is 38psi front and 35psi rear for the same size of wheel.
My MK3 ST suffered from torque steer immensely. Really hated it - sold it and bought an MK7 GTI: zero torque steer However, the RS is a AWD car with a rear drive bias. So I don’t understand how the RS suffers from torque steer?
The rs3 uses a Haldex system so it’s not rear bias it’s predominantly front wheel drive with only the rear wheels coming into play when they are needed
Gtr will hammer the rs3 I’ve had both my rs3 was a 2018 when u launch it a few times it actually feels not that fast 💨 as to the wheel clicking my gtr is still not clicking mate fix it yourself or sell it simple
Im shocked that a 1 year old car has that amount of rust on the steering components, ive got a 13 year old Mitsubishi Ralliart Colt and it only now is getting surface rust bubbles , so Ford really need to improve their QC , no 1 year old car should be rusty unless its parked next to the ocean LOL
One lady owner! With the the state of those tyres, I wouldn't want to meet her if she's had a bad day! That rust, don't worry about it, run a Land Rover Defender and find out what rust really is. I liked the Ford RS, maybe at 68 it's something I can afford to insure. Still not as fun as my old RS 2000, those were the days, and plod was not parked outside the boozers either.
RS2000 now you’re talking sense 💪🔥 My first car was a 1976 Escort 1.3 pop, not exactly an RS2 but gave me the desire to get one. Unfortunately I never got there 😡
@@EVILGT I bought mine back in 1981 only a couple years old for £3700, had it for three years and then sold it for £3500 as I had a company car and never hardly used it. Thought I'd got a good deal at the time. Saw it on eBay back in 2012 and it was up for £10500. Same speakers and mods I'd done under the bonnet, probably worth £30000 now. Happy days, well some of them were.

I believe some Mountune springs were black and looked like standard springs, I think the blue mountune springs suffered with paint flaking off and premature rusting. Your ride def looks a lot bumpier and harder than std too !!
I swapped out the crappy engine mounts and that completely removed any torque steer in my 2018 RS. 👍🏼
would you recommend this on a mk 3 st? mine torque steers quite bad only done 33k miles
trance & bass It wouldn’t hurt to upgrade them but being front wheel I can’t say it will do much from a dig but maybe make a difference in a role or coming out of a corner being more stable.
Launch control is a pain in the arse!! You have to go into settings go into driving assist and it’s there.. I’ve got a dreamscience map that’s auto launch 🚀💎👍
The mountune 1 is the same plant the throttle dump the clutch much easier than going through the long slow menu cheers steve 👍 😀
Steve BHP DEVON I remember trying to have a race at the lights and by the time I got to launch control they was gone hahaha... yeah I heard mountune also did that with launch control 👍 helps a lot lol
@@michaelhesford5191 or the launch control disengaged as you took to long now it's flat throttle and dump clutch only thing is its set to 5500rpm which is to much so I set it to 4500 rpm but when you turn the ignition off it sets it back to 5500 rpm bit annoying cheers steve👍😀
Steve BHP DEVON dreamscience map is set to 4500 it’s definitely better 0-60 doesn’t seem to spin half as much 😁
I have Mountine 375 and the launch control is still as per Ford in regarda to setting ut up but with a lower rev limit.
Some Mk3 focus ST owner's fixed torque steer with uprated lower mount and fitting quaife lsd, in suffering torque steer and wheel hop of judder, be worth looking in a research of this and possible fitting these uprated mods, that the mk3 focus ST owner's did to fix it and defo a chat with a good reputable mechanical tuner on it, as they will be knowledgeable on fixes and possible in torque vectoring, disable compensation as well
Car go's lovely, nice bit of driving
Audi will win but not by a lot 😁 also another great video.. I think you guys are great and really honest 👍😎
How much was the Rs3?
glamma hammer Im not exactly sure but I do know he got a amazing deal, which will probably be mentioned on the first video we do on it.
Great video, surprised to see rust on such a new car
Me too
Motorway salt probs. only surface rust.
Nice work. How do you afford all the new cars?
My wife asks me the same question every time I buy another car 😂😂😂
1k subs yay
Shame about the wind deflectors. I thought they looked good.
New sub love the content 👌
Cheers mate 👍🏼
Great video
Starts ragging a fresh RS3 with only 62 Miles on the clock! Great work lads 😂😂😂
I’m having the same problem with my rs
that needs to go on a rolling road power run, to me it seems like its got a map on it, looks quicker than std for sure.
Could be the steering rack, these are known for knocking on the rack when they wear
Thanks for the advice Francis, we’ll get this checked out soon 👍🏼
I would of had them wind deflectors for my focus 🤦🏻♂️🤣🤙🏻
Message me on insta (evlgtr) and i'll send them to you
Thanks feller but don’t have insta 🤣 I’m a caveman who hates technology 🤣🤣
Also love the cars you guys have, think iv seen your GTR around Manchester ( where I live ) gtr r35 is mine an my son’s dream car 👌🏼
Deano Large 😂 well if you can get me your address somehow I can send them to you 👍
EVIL GTR M6 6HP 8 Auckland drive, Legend 🤙🏻
Love the RS focus
Oooo Lee has a thing about black wheels. He’s obsessed... controversial 😂🚗💨
@@EVILGT - And that's why you should do something different and go for silver wheels :)
Nice to see the Torque Steer has gone... you want to be using launch control, if you want to do it off the lights you have to have the menu already open😂 looks much better without those ‘mods’ Cheers, Oliver.
Good to know!
Cheap tip... go on national tyres website and order your pilot sport 4’s online they only cost 106. That’s fitted too I have an 350bhp ST and fly through tyres so handy tip for you 👍🏼
£200 for the fronts and £150 for the rears for us annoyingly. Thanks for the consideration though 👍🏼
Jeeez ... worth it though nothing grips like the pilot sports especially in the wet 👌
Had a lot of feedback to this effect. This will be sorted definitely 👍🏼
my door says 46psi front and rear
samsonyunited is yours a later model? I didn’t actually see the door myself, the guy fitting the tyres looked at it and I asked him what it said. I’m going to have to look myself now 🤔
@@EVILGT 2016 but most don't inflate to 46
Remember there’s figures for a full load of passengers as well that are 4/5 psi higher. My Hyundai I30N is 38psi front and 35psi rear for the same size of wheel.
@@crocoman776 correct 46 is for full load
if tyres are wearing like that there is obviously a camber issue or tyre pressures have been wrong for a long time.
That's not a camber issue, that's toe
and thank you for tossing the wind deflectors...those are garbage
My MK3 ST suffered from torque steer immensely.
Really hated it - sold it and bought an MK7 GTI: zero torque steer
However, the RS is a AWD car with a rear drive bias. So I don’t understand how the RS suffers from torque steer?
Sorted now though thankfully. Golf GTI is a cracking car though 👍🏼 thanks for watching
The rs3 uses a Haldex system so it’s not rear bias it’s predominantly front wheel drive with only the rear wheels coming into play when they are needed
I would get the engine forged and get 500hp on this nice car then it would be a beast of car love the mk3 rs they look very nice 👍
Ni guys get the allignment fixed because the tires are gonna weare out fast grtz from belgium👍
Wait till you map it. The clutch will slip then.
Never look beyond the basics when you're working on cars. Tires are the only thing that touch the road at the end of the day.
Those tyres don't look like the one careful lady owner tyres I was expecting 🤣
Yeah you have a point 🤔😂
I had an Escort RS Turbo running 200bhp in the mid 90’s the torque steer was a bitch. Coming off a roundabout and nailing it was always a handful
I remember coming off a roundabout in my 1984 RS Turbo, flooring it and nearly crashing into an oncoming car
@@EVILGT yeah they were a handful but great fun.
I had problems on focus st when lowered and engine upgrades and found inner cv joints and gaiters were wearing out! Just keep an eye on these cheers
Gtr will hammer the rs3 I’ve had both my rs3 was a 2018 when u launch it a few times it actually feels not that fast 💨 as to the wheel clicking my gtr is still not clicking mate fix it yourself or sell it simple
'Chav Wagon' lol.
Nice interior tho.
Im shocked that a 1 year old car has that amount of rust on the steering components, ive got a 13 year old Mitsubishi Ralliart Colt and it only now is getting surface rust bubbles , so Ford really need to improve their QC , no 1 year old car should be rusty unless its parked next to the ocean LOL
its a 2016 plate, so 4 years old
Wheels spinning
Ring motorsport development in Blackpool for a remap Kenny there owns a mk3 focus rs mint on fords m8
Cheers For the recommendation Carl, we’ll have a look into this 👍🏼
Hi how is going on your focus RS ninjas doing my name name
take the car to alignment already!! your front is a disaster according to the tyre wear !
The car pulled into the kerb every time you changed gear. I had one from new, kept it 3 weeks and wasn’t impressed with it at all so it had to go.
Those HEKO wind deflectors are dog shit get a set of CLIMAIR German made quality👌👌
Deffo west way manny 🙄
Clutch gets changed at 100,000
Thinks its his shit driving makes it slip
What is ot you do for a living, apart from making fantastic content :)
We own a production company that allows us to do this Bushy. Your comments mean a lot so thank you 👍🏼
I can’t believe the rust on the focus, it’s only 4 years old.
Do ford use crayons 🖍 instead of paint 🎨 on their cars 🤦🏽♂️
They alwaya will rust. Apart from the latest Fiesta models oddly...
Nissan dealers are crap they did the same with me on my Nissan had to give it to specialists at the end
Get it chipped
A lot of talking, not much steering.
