Sir ,i think there is some error( however the ans is correct acc. to ur calculation) bcoz initally u r taking ratio of MP and SP, but in case of profit (which is the ratio of CP and SP), u have written in the same ratio of MP and SP so there is mistake(still the ans is absolutely correct, don`t know how) .this question can be done by MP CP relation or PANDAV METHOD which u taught. plz have a look on this.
