This took absurdly long to get even with best in slot gear... after many resets I decided to not go for the natural ruby bolt proc off rip. Things went much smoother from there

Very nice, what did you do towards the end of the fight when you tanked his slam attack and took the 58 damage? does that cause the shield phase to end?

Correct, you can skip his smite phase if you drop his health to 0 before he goes into that phase. Typically he goes into that phase with a lot more hp then he did in this video so usually you need a big tbow/shadow hit and then a VW spec to skip it. You can also just do two tbow hits or shadow hits or whatever else you might have. Just takes some rng on the hits to drop him to 0. I must have dropped him to like 3 hp 10 different times going for this😂💀
