It's not. Term Alpha was given by a Scientist to some animal hierarchy which denote Top Hierarchy of Competence. It is like who is the best or fittest for survival.
But the thing is in Modern Human civilization, there are different hierarchies of competence like Top Cricketer dominating cricket, Top rank Doctor, Top rank CEO, Top rank Engineer or Top rank Sportsperson or any other Top rank person dominating a particular domain.
Also to remain in the Top consistently is almost impossible as there is always a new emergence of New competence. It's shown scientifically that Alpha male in chimpanzees can't retain top position after a point.

Alpha Beta are just terminologies that are used as labels for a certain type men. Alpha or Beta didn't exist before but those men definitely existed and now we just got a term to identify them.
To be honest alpha is a term that was coined by accident by a biologist.
Later he spent his whole life trying to perpetuate that it was mistake. Alpha is supposed to be the top in the hierarchy of wolves. But this hierarchy is not common and is only seen in captivity.
Also, Men are the ones who start labelling themselves like this. Women don't care about this Alpha beta thing. Instead one can say that certain men are better in certain things than other men and lots of other factors plays a role.

The reality is complete opposite of what you described in the video because many men in fact undermine the word alpha instead of defining it (suiting their personality). Alpha is very context dependent but it basically means someone who dominates their respective field(s) and/or has certain physical and psychological traits that women find attractive. Plenty of research has been done on this subject. This video is quite misleading. Swetabh, you should know better.

Even in leadership research, you will find personality traits and markers such as high extraversion, high conscientiousness, and low disagreeableness. But then there are also communal traits and agentic traits. There are dark traits, impulsivity, manipulation, zero sum game, abuse, and a lot more. A lot of highly charismatic people can be very high on dark traits. And the world might be calling them alphas when in reality they are human pieces of shit.
My point is, terminology is very important. With clarity and definitions and markers, one can put forth a reasonable criticism and uses. From my own belief, the "Alpha Male" is a term coined by people to feed on their own egos. It's bullshit which doesn't exist in the human world. It exists only and only in the animal kingdom - Chimps, Gorillas, Lions, Wolves, only those animals who move around in groups. Those animals go by hierarchy and thus have a group/pack leader which is called the Alpha Male. But in humans, there ain't no such thing as alpha, beta, gamma, sigma bullshit. Be a good person, have your own thoughts and beliefs, know when to draw the line, treat everyone with respect that's all. Don't get fed into this narrative of becoming an "Alpha Male". Your own mental health and sanity will thank you for it. We just saw in this video that Tripti couldn't give a proper answer to the qualities of an "Alpha Male" yet she wants to be in a relationship with one. That should be enough for all of us to understand that this terminology is all horseshit lol.
