You could tape off your shoe and only flex seal a high wear spot. Multple coatings would probably be better too. Also use black flexseal to not get the white all over. I've put roll on bed liner on the toe of work boots.

People don't realize how deadly these baits are on light spinning tackle 😅 When I was a kid I caught a 7lb spotted bass on one of these. The previous day I had been fishing 60ft deep and then I went out the next morning off of a shallow bank and sight casted into my pb bass and it ripped so much drag I could literally see the water from the day prior flying off of my reel like smoke!
