Well they definitely have improved it. They’re going to hold the 2021 MLB draft in a big venue and will only have 5 rounds instead of 40. Something that baseball fans have to understand though is that MLB drafts will never be as big as NBA and NFL drafts since every player that gets drafted in the MLB has to play in the MiLB for 2-7 years and when they get called up, very few people remember when they were drafted
i get that but right after they get drafted they work out there contract and they jump right into to minor league system cause just a year ago at the same time they were playing summer baseball they should push it back but they need to keep playing baseball during the summer

The O's got 3 top 50 prospects in baseball in this draft. Including 2 guys that would eventually be the #1 prospect in baseball. Mike Elias is a freaking genius

@@MsMallory96 If a player gets drafted and he decides NOT to go to the Minor Leagues and instead goes to College, his draft pick becomes null and void then. He then has to try his luck again in the draft. There are many players who got drafted out of high school, but instead went to college and then got drafted again after leaving college. Most of the times such players get drafted at a higher slot after leaving college then when they were drafted out of high school as teams think that the extra couple of college playing years must have improved his overall skill and maturity level, especially if they played for a Division 1 Elite College or played in the College World Series which has a very high level of competition. Coming back to this in 2023, you can see that these teams had great picks and this was a stacked draft

Hakim Jackson MLB and the NFL are like that. The NBA only has 60 players drafted. Most of them will play in an NBA game.
The MLB draft should be right after the college WS or like in January during the off season, not during the MLB season
