That’s cause the Starship was so far ahead of its time. It was seriously overbuilt and rather then support the product Beechcraft decided it was better to chainsaw the survivors. Only 6 starships are still airworthy with a few reassembled but will never fly again. At least the Avanti keeps the spirit of the Starship with us
@@andrewnicholson6634 i what respect? Not soft fields if that's what you were thinking. engine out,.. nope, mpg, nope, noise....nope Shoulder room maybe? depends on which seat in the Avanti.
This plane doesn't have wipers. I think what you're seeing is the ends of the windshield heat elements. They are in a strange configuration, but they work well.
Thanks for the ride, one of my favorites and single pilot to BoOt ! Did the company ever find a way out of its 💰 problems? It would be a shame imo to see them go away, Gotta 💕 the Italians.😉
That was a flight heading for maintenance, post maintenance flight or going for service only to wait for spares. The owner is willing to spend money as all the Collins gear has been updated with Garmin goodies. The aircraft has a lot of pluses but getting spares and maintenance intervals doomed the program. On paper, the platform is a winner. Light jet speeds with a turboprop fuel burn. Some of the issues were addressed in the Avanti II but in the end, it’s Too Expensive to own/operate.
A little like the Starship all over again. A larger pusher turboprop with canards could be economically feasible as a short range transport. I'm waiting for that laminar flow design to make it into commercial production.
Thank you for the video, sir. What anti-ice systems does this aircraft have? As far as I understand it doesn't have an anti-ice system for the wings, or am I wrong? The empennage anti-ice? What weather radar does it have? How good it operates in bad weather? Have problems with maintenance and spare parts been resolved? What are the main cons of this aircraft you'd name?
Honest opinion of this plan and if this should be someone’s next purchase. I love the look and the headroom but no practical knowledge of the real performance
The Piaggio is quite a bit more conservative than e.g. the Beech Starship, which is probably why it was not as soundly rejected by the ultra-conservative 'Murican business aviation community as the Starship was. A canard-stabilized aircraft is no more dangerous than any other aircraft, they just require slightly different piloting skills when landing, and they have considerable performance and efficiency advantages. The first powered aircraft to officially fly, the Wright Flyer, was a canard! Did you ever wonder why some of the most advanced fighter jets (Gripen, Rafaele, Typhoon) are canards? On the other hand, the most advanced 'Murican fighters are "conventional", the emphasis being on stealth. No wonder the F-35 is conservative, it is the flagship fighter of a nation soon to be referred to as the MSA (The Medieval States of America).
Too bad. The Piaggio EVA came out in 2015. Since then they have only sold 16 WORLD WIDE! (I know this is not an EVA) Thought I would say that before I am drawn and quartered on here. I can't see how they are still in business but I guess they are. I have heard that many people have called their offices in Florida but no one ever answers. That information is not new but a few years old.
The background “music” is REALLY ANNOYING. You should also narrate the video. It would make the video MUCH MORE interesting to know what you’re doing, where you’re flying from and flying to, flight level, etc.
They did a much better job than Beechcraft and the Starship with this type of cinfiguratian. Excelent job.
This is what more efficient but I, still have a soft spot for the starship.
@@SirDrifto starship must be the most beautiful aircraft ever made . The name fits perfectly.

Beautifully upgraded cockpit! Nice blend of old and new.
I agree this one is setup to perfection 👍
Best prop deice on the market! :-)
Agreed
Lol… so true 😂
very nice video.. but dump the background music. The only music needed is those twin Prats
I’ll do less music in the future.
don't worry, i'm dropping a flying audio only, no music video tommorow, be sure to look for it.
That's your opinion.
@@SirDrifto I would watch it more if theres no music at all. maybe subscribe it.
Agree
Fantastic Aircraft 👏
The Best Turboprop out there in my Humble opinion.
Agreed 👌
Nahhh king air is superior

Ditto my remarks on this video as with the previous. Thanks for the close up of this great bird
@2:11, beautiful Garmin avionic. The OEM Collins avionic is dated.
Wondering what the sound just before touching down is? Stall warning? Sounds good.
Piaggio and Embraer should make a joint venture to improve this technology a lot.
Do you have more on the Avanti, please upload.
More to come
Probably just me, but those wipers would drive me nuts. JD
Exactly, is it adjustable?
I frankly think wipers on a plane are hilarious

man i want a Piaggio so bad.
And for some great scenes of an Avanti landing in movies, watch the movie "Wind" - 1992
What model of Garmen did you have installed?
I fly A320, in cruise, the noise is around 95dB, quite noisy. Wondering how about the P180?
Great Video and in case nobody already mentioned: Does not need music. 😁 What is that alarm sound starting 9:26?

I believe they did pull out of financial issues. And thank you !
Look up the Beechcraft starship I think you’ll find at the beach was the first one to use this type of configuration

What airport did you take off from?
KHOT to KBJC
That pilot was shaking and I also would have been 🙏🙏🙏👍💕
Great panel. Who did the avionics work?

Buy one if you want all this information! Damn too many critics on this vid.
@@cad5238 Thank you for your input Karen.
This plane talks to you. Can you hear it?
It definitely does 👍
"snowstorm"...... ? ? ? ?..................... / suposing it rains somewhere.... = you also call that a rainstorm...... ? ? ?
Naw we can that a plane wash
I just wanna know what kinda goggles our pilot was wearing!! Those are dope!
Copilot looks like Saul Goodman.
Better call Saul 😅
👍
I didn't hear your minimums callout, but you must have just squeaked in there!
Baby squeak 🤣

why the hell you play music when you fly such a great airplane???
Nice video, but!! the music is so annoying, distracts from experiencing what it's really like in the cockpit.

Sure seems like the P180 comes in hot when landing.
It does indeed

All these pilots eat so much runway... never understood why they do that.
