The only problem I have with this is that you win with youth. Guys you draft and develop. You can trade for depth, but giving up 1st round picks every year, which is what Andersson would command, shouldn't be an option.

I like what he could bring to the team, but I'm scared of what we would have to give up

Funny that if the Canucks did not trade away their 2nd round pick to Calgary for Sven Baertschi, Rasmus Andersson will likely be playing for the Canucks (if Jim Benning was smart enough to pick him).
If the Canucks decide to continue with that cycle, they can go ahead and see how far can that cycle goes.

Problem is that hes also signed next year. Canucks have oel buyout and mikheyev retention hitting hard next season of 5mil in cap space. On top of that need to resign hoglander sutur and boeser or any of the other free agents that want to stay/come to van.
If managment is serious about this, I'd give a 1st a 4th and one prospect bit untouchables are lekkerimäki willander ratu and Dpetty everyone else is up for grabs

@@vdac1068 Bains, karlsson, tolopilio, Fernström, celebrini, woo, romani. kudryavtsev. Just because they are not setting their respective leagues on fire, doesnt mean they wont become valuable pieces in the future.

@@omfg322lol. Would you trade a top 4 dman, like Hronek for a bottom 6 borderline nhl player like bains/Karlsson? Come on buddy.😂

I would rather get a second line LD. To bad we couldn't find a way to give big Z the 5m. My second choice would be Marcus Pettersson for Boeser
    Hughes Hronek
    _______ Myers
    Soucy Desjarnais
    Forbort Juulsen

As a Canucks fan since inception I care how much they give up. We went through this with Gillis but maybe some of you were too young to remember his asset giveaway fetish.

soooooooooo............. wait till the deadline. we arnt hurt if we don't get him and, he could easily tank his value by then. I also believe we have ahl defenceman to take the step

This would have been a good trade last year instead of trading for Zadorov if you weren’t going to sign him.
    Also before re-signing Myers

    Poolman, Hoglander, 1st.
But problem is we have 3 RD already.. We’d have to move one to LD. I’m thinking:
    Hughes - Hronek
    Soucy - Andersson
    Forbort/Desharnais - Myers

To Calgary: 2025 1st, 2025 4th, garland, desharnais, D pettersson. To Vancouver: andersson, lomberg. Probably what makes sense for both teams and works out money wise and Vancouver gains 400k in cap space. Heinen moves to third line and lomberg slots in on the fourth. It a good bit for Vancouver to give up but I think it’s the only way a trade for andersson would happen and Calgary gets some good pieces for their future.
