    This was very helpful! Are you able to tell me about silver laced crosses with blue lace red/gold ect too? And also how do the blue laced reds produce 25% splash? I had no idea! Thankyou! New subscriber🙂

      Most chickens with dominate genes are coded like this BB/BB Its from both blue chickens having co-dominant genes with one recessive like this, Bl/bl the little bl is passed on as black so when white shows up, black presents its self as diluted like this Bl/Bl known as splash (mistakenly called lavender) in wyandottes. We will be doing more color tutorials on other wyandotte colors very soon. THANK YOU!!!

    Beautiful chickens. I love the colors and they look docile too. Thinking of maybe getting some this spring, depending if the local hatchery has them.

      They have become our very favorite. Much larger than we expected. also much quieter than our other chickens but love humans.

      @@MBHeritageFarms Do the hens actually seat on their eggs?

      @@MBHeritageFarms they are super cool looking, and they are more likely to survive when predators come looking for chicken dinner, but they have a tendency of trying to hide eggs out in the woods - my only gripe about them

    • @MBHeritageFarms
      @MBHeritageFarms  2 года назад +1

      Red is really Black laced red. Golden laced is black also but has gold penciling instead of red, they are different chickens. Thank you for commenting

      @@MBHeritageFarms ok thank you! I’m looking into ordering some chicks from a local hatchery. I already have 2 golden laced Wyandottes but was wanting a blue laced red Wyandotte. The hatchery’s website says blue/black/splash laced red (hatchery’s choice between the 3 when I order). With a quick glance at pics online I couldn’t tell much of a difference.

    • @MBHeritageFarms
      @MBHeritageFarms  2 года назад

      @@melanieclark2304 yeah i also have seen hatcheries calling splash wyandottes, blue and sellng them as such. Its crazy how some dont or they are just being dishonest.
