My sifu introduced me to GM Doc Fai Wong in the 1990's at an International Chinese Martial Arts Tournament in San Francisco. Developing the control of force and balance and having so many years of conditioning and practice, it is amazing how stable that knowledge makes us. Strength from muscles is one thing and we think that strength will last, but knowledge of force and balance will make one grow stronger with age even while muscle strength is lost as it always is. ;)
Last century he hosted a Tai Chi tournament in San Francisco each year (perhaps he still does). Both form and push hands competitions. I went several times, Witnessed some astounding performances.
Wouaaah... impressive. Is it important to look... spineless (at the begening of the video, face with this guy who pushes, Doc-Fai Wong looks... seems to be more than souple). I didn't NEVER see that before ! It is 6 (and more) persons and he's still the stronger, it's crazy :o !!! What is extremely surprising is that he doesn't give the impression that he pushes himself very strong ; however, he sends "waltz" EVERYBODY at many meters !!! Chapeau :-) !
ok, outta all the bull on youtube about push hands, tjis has got to be one of the best videos. Want to know what push hands is all about without the fantasy of mystical qi? Study this video.
