I remember hearing that if you cut the head off, and hang it upside-down by the tail to bleed out, it takes the gamey flavor away. Supposed to make them taste more like sunfish. Then they cube the meat to fry. That was an old Southern strategy for lean times.

Carp are really hard to hook sometimes, I try different hooks and that also makes a huge difference

Best way I've found is to put bread on your hook buy don't smash it bcuz u want it to float. It comes off easily but the carp cannot resist it!

Carp won’t eat on the surface in every location. This one especially was NOT going to take a surface bait.

Wrong cut the tail off and hang it by the gill. The main artery is easiest to cut right at the tail.
