    As a Brit I find it honestly laughable that the Americans are obsessed with Thomas Paine. We remember him for the rights of man. The idea that the American revolution caused the French Revolution is also odd. Its biggest influence was the fact that king Louis spent loads on the the US revulsion and so had little to help his own people when they were starving.

      Pete Flores You mixed up your King Louis'... The XIV aka 14th built Versailles and the XVI 16th supported the American revolution nearly a century later. Further Versailles started as a hunting Lodge in 1623 built by Louis XIII. Most of the construction took place between 1664 and 1710 but the French Revolution didn't happen until 1793.

    I'd imagine the US would be something along the lines of Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Especially Canada as they too have a strong French influence and are geographically in the same part of the world. The US would have a parliament and the French part (which eventually would join up) would likely have a fair degree of political, cultural and linguistic autonomy (just like Quebec).
    Whilst the US would not be as ethnically diverse as it is now it would certainly not be mono-cultural. The queen would be the head of state.
    Not such a bad outcome TBH, the other 3 countries seem to be doing OK.
    All purely speculative of course.

    Even if the United States lost the Revolutionary War, it would still end up existing. The British couldn't keep their colonies forever. In fact, most of the countries that were British colonies became independent simply because the Brits were just too tired of ruling them. What is to the say the the U.S. wouldn't follow the path of Canada, Australia and New Zealand and become independent at a later date?

Would Britain still be the top power? What would happen to the US if they failed to win the revolution and further more seal their constitutional rights? Would the world be the same as it is right now, or would we be living in a entirely different vast world?

      Check out the Marshall plan after WWII they were forced to relinquish control of their colonies because the USA wouldn't provide aid to countries with colonies... Same with France... So actually they probably would have drained their colonies of resources to rebuild the mainland instead of taking money, resources, and assistance from the USA.

    okay i agree that Britain still has a class culture, but we have more equality over here. Less racism, sexism, etc etc. It still exists in the UK but I feel like America needs to take a look at itself before it starts claiming we're "slower" at developing rights.
    In the UK, slavery was abolished 32 years before it was abolished in the USA.
    Women got the vote in the UK 2 years before the USA
    The UK introduced legal gay marriage a year BEFORE America did.
    I could go on. Seriously, you're wrong when you say that the USA's rights are more advanced.
    AND- BRITAIN HAS A WELFARE SYSTEM! Free healthcare! Yes, there's still a lot of class injustice, but we still look after our people in poverty better than the USA does, this video makes it seem like we don't, and we just cast the lower class aside. You're wrong. Actually educate yourself on British politics and current affairs before making videos about us.

      The U.S. has made a system where the working class are misrepresented and the 1% more powerful than everyone else.
      If you think the working class here is bad LOOK AT YOURSELF AMERICA.
      In our country we may not be happy with foreigners hell I'm Welsh and people still don't like me.

    I disagree: whilst the USA was a powerhouse for inventors it was not it's primary source for technology to be made, the first device invented for computing arguably was not invented by Babbage rather it would had been the abacus as it was the first device used to calculate mathematical formula this was followed later by the invention of the Astrolabe, Side Ruler, various forms of clocks, the step reckoner and Range Tables, war was the causation of advancement only due to demand of access: eventually, human civilization as we know would had discovered this technology one way or the other as people needed more efficient ways to calculate math. In other words, if not the US - Britain, Russia or Germany may have invented it.

      well let's see, the French revolution because France went broke after funding the U.S, after the revolution Napoleon went crazy in Europe, because they shared a common enemy the "Germans" finally had a real reason to unite, so yes, in a way if the U.S didn't exist Germany as you know it might never exist, maybe it will unify in a later date and maybe not even by Prussia, maybe Austria would have unified it.

    • @ez861
      @ez861 7 лет назад +1

      Actually without Napoleon destroying the Holy Roman Empire its unlikely that German nationalism would have became a thing. Since the death of the HRE was letting go of medieval ideas and instituting more rational legal systems in the Confederation of the Rhine which started the idea of a unified German state.

    The world should thank the USA. The US have created and invented some of the most major technology and science in the world. Example. Microsoft, Apple, the internet. Facebook. Airplane. Cars. Microchips (hint) silicone valley: AMD, Intel and Nvidia. Democracy and freedom as we know it.

    • @Gloriaimperial1

      And we are very grateful.
      And the United States should thank Spain, the discovery of America, the first globalization, the victory over the British in the war of independence, the horse and the dollar. But the debt to the rest of Europe would still be greater, because in Europe the Greek sciences and democracy were born, Christianity, humanism, the Renaissance, enlightenment, the indistrial revolution, the socialism that derives in unions ... In Europe, the greatest geniuses of humanity were also born: Einstein, Newton, Leonardo, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Shakespeare, Galileo, Aristotle, Cervantes, Guttenberg, Rembrandt, Picasso ... In a way the whole world is European: but it is True, he now has a European style of the United States.

      ok why should i thank them for this? when all of that was inevitably going to be invented anyway? if you respect humankind and its innovations, you should respect that someone would eventually invent all of that even if its not an american.
      also we didnt erase the people, idiot. just the rulership by having britain win.
      thank it for what? by many theories, the US winning the revolution indirectly caused the french reovlution which leads to WW1
      we alreayd had freedoms. what do you think the renaissance and age of enlightment was?

    I feel like the picture at the end of the US owned by different global powers doesn't seem to make much sense. If you think about it, it was American independence that led to Manifest Destiny, so maybe Mexico would have more land and influence in the world, or one coast of America owned by the French and Britain owning the East coast. It's very interesting to speculate!

    • @Gorilder
      @Gorilder 7 лет назад

      if the US doesn't gain Independence neither does Mexico. France would never go bankrupt helping the US and fighting another war with Britain so their revolution never occurs... long story short the Americas look a whole lot like Africa during the height of colonialism, just cut up land by the Europeans as pretty much all Western Hemisphere countries are crushed or conquered right off the bat.

    • @CarlosTorres-gr9tv
      @CarlosTorres-gr9tv 7 лет назад

      Gorilder But wasn't Mexico owned by Spain?

    • @Gorilder
      @Gorilder 7 лет назад

      Yes it was, but the Mexican revolution (and most revolutions around the world against imperial rule) were basically copies of the American revolution.
      on top of that, Spain wouldn't have been occupied by Napoleon's France (since without American revolution the French government doesn't go bankrupt sparking their own revolution) this means that the likelihood for revolutions throughout the Spanish colonies significantly dwindles (so not just Mexico.. ALL of the Spanish Speaking countries in the Western hemisphere stay under Spanish rule, at least for a longer period of time than they do in our timeline).
