Thanks guys. Love your reviews. Obv the new R9 v CBR600RR will be high on your radar once R9. I bought the 2024 CBR600RR after watching all the reviews including your two vids on it. Very glad was educated not to buy the Fireblade SP in the course of the reviews since just for road use. The 600RR is just perfection.
The DRZ4S is the pick for me. If the price is right it will be the first bike I plan to buy new. They're keeping the 5 speed but no word on if the ratios have changed. I plan on using it as an all rounder but mostly exploring off-road so 5 speed doesn't bother me. If it's too expensive (north of $14k AUD ride away) then I'll just get a DRZ400E which are everywhere here in Australia.
Yeah I have a DRZsm and never understood why everyone cries about a 6 speed and EFI, it's a flippin little 400 nugget! EFI is always nice but if you open her up a properly jetted carb won't let you down. But as you say, 14K forget it. Buy 2nd hand and you can spend the change on anything from riding gear to mods and still have change left over.
I spk to chap on Suzuki stand at the NEC Motorcycle live and he did say that the ratios have been spaced out to give it more realistic cruising capability.

I really hope so. I’m hoping it’ll completely shake up the market. I’d get one but I’m not a fan of inline 4s, I got a tuono purely for the engine sound.
@@iamthemobeyThe Tuono does sound incredible, I had a ‘22 R1 and it sounded almost identical even though it was an IL4, so not all are boring, one of my current bikes is an H2 another IL4 but that has a lot of character too. I’ve had an Aprilia as well although only the RS660, that was a great bike.
@ very true. I should say conventional flat plane i4. That cross plane Yamaha is a completely different thing! It’s just personal preference at the end of the day. In my opinion the Aprilia v4 is the best sounding engine full stop. Just the right balance of all the elements that make an engine sound great. How much of the character of the engine sound of the h2 is the super charger and how much is the i4 you think?
i think the Aoocci screen is well deserved by myself because I own a 13 year old Italian bike and would like to look at something else than error codes and warning lights for a change.( It’s actually been extremely reliable)

Ole'mate makes a point about the old honda cb1000r handling. I test rode one in around 2009 and loved it. About half way through the ride we took an off ramp I'm not familiar with, had to tip in a little more than initially expected and it suddenly felt like it just wanted to fall in giving my stomach butterflies. I actually liked that though. Felt like it was on rails. I recall at the time the marketing mentioned a short wheelbase and something about "mass centralization" which is what I assumed I had just experienced.

The new DRZ 4 is still 5 speed, to the annoyance of DRZ fan boys. But it has yet to be seen if the new 5 speed gear box has been spaced more appropriately.
I think I make the best comments. so I like to check on auto trader the price of bikes as you go along. They do the old 660rr with the new ones! and there is this 2011 import with only 1550 miles and a fantastic colour. the sort of bike that will make you loose the 2 stone you've put on riding the GT! Nice to see Greg back.

The hornet will sell bucket loads I owned a z900 it looked nice but more show than go I traded it for a ninja1000 sx a great bike which I will be keeping for a few years.
Great video chaps. However the new Kawi Z900 se is £11,349 not £13,300 which you said it cost. The base model is £9199 for the black one [the new Hornet base model is £8,999] so they are very close. The Kawi has a lot more tech with a 6 axis IMU and more electronic wizardry. However you cannot deny the amazing value of the Hornet SP for 10 grand. That will hit the likes of Yamaha [MT09], Triumph [765 models], KTM [990] and Kawasaki hard. As a fellow Tuono owner [welcome to the club Greg] the new 2025 model gets the slightly bigger engine of the RSV4. However, omitting the belly pan is big no,no and stinks of cost cutting. Anyway, have a great new year chaps and I look forward to that Hornet SP v Z900 se comparison you mentioned.
100% Superduke GT for me! Have the 1290 GT Gen 2 and have riden the 1390 Superduke evo and the combination will be epic! Proper Swiss army knife for the roads. Still don't get why anyone would buy an adventure bike for the roads with bikes like this on the market. As for the middle weight naked; the Honda is epic as it undercuts competition for a bike which is touching super naked power wise. Well done Honda!
The winglets on these bikes are getting so big and sticking out so far they might as well make them built in frame sliders. At least then they would actually serve a purpose!
DRZ4SM with a full system and a ECU flash probably will make about 40bhp at the wheel and will be sub 150kg. If Suzuki will price the bike sub 5K pounds I will buy one as a back road blast machine!

I say all the manufacturers releasing new bikes that are a great value (bang for the buck) or new model years with barely if any price increase deserve a shout! I'm all for new technology but not at the expense of bikes that are affordable to a small minority.

Honestly very few interest me as a new bike (and new bike price). R9 is about it. Ironically the Chinese seem to be making the biggest moves. CFMoto triple 675cc sportbike, Moto Morini 1200cc adventure bike, the Kove 450 is unlike anything you would find except an unobtainable KTM race bike.
"Full fat lamb chops"! I personally found the old Strada V2 a bit too easy in lower ranges up to 80km, only then it "goes" - hopefully the new engine brings fun closer to the start, for it is not really a track bike, is it?
I deserve the Aoocci because I don't get lost enough and the thought of getting even more lost in the middle of nowhere, or of fuel with no cell reception and a power failure is my definition of success and fun. Of course, I'll have zero supplies food or "coffee" available and will probably die a slow and painful death in a KTM with failed cam system. I will be sure to video the entire event so that people can laugh hysterically at my overall stupidity in my one and only vlog.
RE the new Duc V2, worth remembering that the Superquadro would have lost power if it was pushed through to Euro 5+. New one makes 70% of torque at 3K, and hopefully runs well at low revs too. Can’t wait!
I think I deserve the Apple CarPlay Aooice device for the following reasons: 1. I fed up of my misses telling me off for buying motorbike stuff. Saying I’m wasting money on stuff that will only sit in a drawer. 2. I’m also a danger to myself and, more importantly to your nearest and dearest as I’m constantly getting lost with audio prompts from my phone that’s paired to my SENA. I’ve had my phone mounted to my bike in the past but struggle with charging or concerns over vibration damaging the phone I now keep it in my pocket. 3. I got 4 Christmas cards and no presents for Christmas, not even socks this year, yet I spent all Christmas doing work on renovating the kitchen.

Also the DRZ 400 is keeping 5 speeds, but supposedly the ratios have been changed. Keep up the good work!
Props to Honda on that new Hornet, but every RUclipsr is saying its the best thing ever because it has 150 hp. But for most of us, 150 hp is a waste and a 100-125 hp bike like that Kawasaki or something like an MT09 would be lighter weight and more fun to ride. I traded my MT10 because it was just too much bike, and kinda boring on my roads. The MT10 specs are similar to the Hornet.
Hot take but if Suzuki brought back the SV650S and updated it in terms of styling, it might be one of the best modern middleweights. Give the overpriced R7 a run for its money and the GSX8R can be the more touring bike in the class. It’ll also be the only V twin in the 650 class amongst all the 270 p twins.
Having watched your reviews for years and now buying whats probably the 5th bike on the strength of them I recon I deserve the aooochi on my cb1000r so I don't have to try and work out what that different coloured light is on the right of the clock display

I personally would never buy a bike that hasn't got a dedicated stop & tail light. I can't understand why manufacturers save a few quid by removing what I consider a safey feature and spend twice the saving on daft wings that will do nothing 95% of the time and in my opinion, look chavy on a road bike. Just my opinion.

Great summary fellas. Interesting with the Ducati V2 engine changes. Wonder why they didn't use the 937 V-twin from the Monster 937? It puts out similar power (and is a Testastretta). Maybe the weight was an issue. In terms of KTM, I think the pricing is the problem. Rightly or wrongly, they have poor reputation for reliability, so asking a premium is not the way to go. I see Triumph heading the same way - their prices are also creeping up, and with more and more Chinese brands coming through that undercut some of these brands by HUGE margins, I think the traditional brands need to watch their backs. Let's not forget a lot of the big brands use the same Chinese factories. Honda seem to have got the memo with the pricing of the very cool looking Hornet & SP. And what a bike that is! I'd love to win the Aoocci - as the biking legend, Kylie Minogue, once sang "I should win Aoocci, Occi, Occi Occi - I should win Aoocci, bruv...." 😂

I say all the manufacturers releasing new bikes that are a great value (bang for the buck) or new model years with barely if any price increase deserve a shout!
I'm all for new technology but not at the expense of bikes that are affordable to a small minority.

Honestly very few interest me as a new bike (and new bike price). R9 is about it. Ironically the Chinese seem to be making the biggest moves. CFMoto triple 675cc sportbike, Moto Morini 1200cc adventure bike, the Kove 450 is unlike anything you would find except an unobtainable KTM race bike.

"Full fat lamb chops"! I personally found the old Strada V2 a bit too easy in lower ranges up to 80km, only then it "goes" - hopefully the new engine brings fun closer to the start, for it is not really a track bike, is it?
I currently own two ktms, and would use the Aoocci to navigate getting my head out of my own arse.
I deserve the Aoocci because I don't get lost enough and the thought of getting even more lost in the middle of nowhere, or of fuel with no cell reception and a power failure is my definition of success and fun. Of course, I'll have zero supplies food or "coffee" available and will probably die a slow and painful death in a KTM with failed cam system. I will be sure to video the entire event so that people can laugh hysterically at my overall stupidity in my one and only vlog.
RE the new Duc V2, worth remembering that the Superquadro would have lost power if it was pushed through to Euro 5+. New one makes 70% of torque at 3K, and hopefully runs well at low revs too. Can’t wait!

I think I deserve the Apple CarPlay Aooice device for the following reasons:
1. I fed up of my misses telling me off for buying motorbike stuff. Saying I’m wasting money on stuff that will only sit in a drawer.
2. I’m also a danger to myself and, more importantly to your nearest and dearest as I’m constantly getting lost with audio prompts from my phone that’s paired to my SENA. I’ve had my phone mounted to my bike in the past but struggle with charging or concerns over vibration damaging the phone I now keep it in my pocket.
3. I got 4 Christmas cards and no presents for Christmas, not even socks this year, yet I spent all Christmas doing work on renovating the kitchen.
Hi guys! I deserve it because I need the extra weight over the end to keep the front wheel down after fitter a new rear sprocket with a extra 2 teeth plus I can collect & will save you some cash on that heavy postage bill because aoocci is just as heavy as ChopS ⚠wallet 🤫
I would love the Aoocci to offset the fact I didn’t receive any motorcycle gifts for Christmas, despite being motorcycle obsessed! 😢 and I need all the satnav help I can get!

The new DRZ enduro, is my pick this year. Suzuki has a platform here, with all the necessary upgrades riders have been waiting for, for years. AS for the Apple Car Play?? Lets just say, a little extra bling, on my Tiger 1200 GT Pro, will complete, what i think, is a perfect package.."ME"😇

Great vid chaps. Lots of great bikes to look forward to. Really looking forward to the Ducati V2 Panigale & Streetfighter. I'm also keen on the updated Aprilia RS & Tuono 660 Factory models, Moto Guzzi V7 Sport, plus the Moto Morini Corsaro & Corsaro Sport. Also the DRZ 400 is keeping 5 speeds, but supposedly the ratios have been changed. Keep up the good work!
Props to Honda on that new Hornet, but every RUclipsr is saying its the best thing ever because it has 150 hp. But for most of us, 150 hp is a waste and a 100-125 hp bike like that Kawasaki or something like an MT09 would be lighter weight and more fun to ride. I traded my MT10 because it was just too much bike, and kinda boring on my roads. The MT10 specs are similar to the Hornet.
Didn't mention the Triumph Tiger Sport 800 boyzzzz 😮
Hot take but if Suzuki brought back the SV650S and updated it in terms of styling, it might be one of the best modern middleweights. Give the overpriced R7 a run for its money and the GSX8R can be the more touring bike in the class. It’ll also be the only V twin in the 650 class amongst all the 270 p twins.
My old 690 will probably shake that aoocci screen to bits, best sendt it to someone else :P

My 98 Blade has no tech or fuel gauge so when i do run out of fuel at least I'll have something to look at..
Having watched your reviews for years and now buying whats probably the 5th bike on the strength of them I recon I deserve the aooochi on my cb1000r so I don't have to try and work out what that different coloured light is on the right of the clock display

I personally would never buy a bike that hasn't got a dedicated stop & tail light. I can't understand why manufacturers save a few quid by removing what I consider a safey feature and spend twice the saving on daft wings that will do nothing 95% of the time and in my opinion, look chavy on a road bike.
Just my opinion.

Great summary fellas. Interesting with the Ducati V2 engine changes. Wonder why they didn't use the 937 V-twin from the Monster 937? It puts out similar power (and is a Testastretta). Maybe the weight was an issue. In terms of KTM, I think the pricing is the problem. Rightly or wrongly, they have poor reputation for reliability, so asking a premium is not the way to go. I see Triumph heading the same way - their prices are also creeping up, and with more and more Chinese brands coming through that undercut some of these brands by HUGE margins, I think the traditional brands need to watch their backs. Let's not forget a lot of the big brands use the same Chinese factories. Honda seem to have got the memo with the pricing of the very cool looking Hornet & SP. And what a bike that is!
