Not boring at all! This was such a lovely, warm and overall wholesome video to watch. I don't think I stopped smiling all the way through! I'm so happy for your successes, Chris. They are undoubtedly well-earned and I wish you all the best with your tour of Japan - how exciting!! Love your videos and I hope we get to be blessed with hearing you speak again soon! Happy New Year from Australia ✌❤
Thanks. Enjoyable watch, great tips and useful info. Looking forward to seeing you in Hull in March. Disappointingly for me, I was all set to play the opening set at that gig but Paul forgot and asked someone else (I'm sure they'll be great). Great work Chris, all the best.
The accent is the best one there is! Just sayin'. (I'm a bit partial to Yorkshire) So basically, you can ramble for hours and all of us would probably be alright with it. 😅 Also, thanks for the explanation. It's good information for those of us interested! I appreciate ya! Hugs all the way from California!
Hi Chris, I only discovered you a few weeks ago and have been listening to your 2 lovely albums over and over. I was just walking my dog with Golden days and thought I'm already looking forward to your new album I should check back if you've released anything new and there you were today recording this. Really special to hear how authentic your sound is, and your interaction with the Robin was priceless. Thanks
Your accent is lovely! I’ve been watching/listening for a while. I love your style! My niece and I perform locally here in NC, USA, our style is similar to yours. Thanks for sharing this today. It is very helpful. I wish you could tour in the United States 😊💙🎵
That Sigma sounds quite nice and works very well with your vocal style. Thanks for those recording tips. I wish I had a back yard shed to record and practise in.
Happy robin wich can hear you live all the day. Thanks for sharing your tips about live recordings. Very happy for all these announced concerts abroad but don't forget Europe and Paris 🙂
You're European for sure and UK too even with Brexit. We (especially France) have too many historical links (for better or for worse 😉) with UK and I hope that will end as soon as possible for us all.
Thank you for the setup tour!! Talking to a camera is weird but it's nice to hear your talking voice you have a great accent Can you tell us more about the allotment? How does that work? Gosh I hope you tour the US or somewhere closer to me soon! Would love to meet you and hear you play in person :) super cool about the Japan tour!!!
Hello there, I’d like to come to the US too, maybe this year or the next! The allotment is a UK tradition of giving plots of land to the public to allow them to grow vegetables and garden, they are all over the country, they are hard to get hold of sometimes in cities as it’s a nice way to escape the hustle and bustle x
Mate, when you play live, it really does sound like a recording… I think that’s a massive compliment. Your album in March, is it recorded in a studio, or is it a compilation of these live recordings?
Genuinely useful. Thanks Chris. I smiled at your guitar being a Sigma because I've been ogling their Gibson J45 copy for over a year. Just waiting for one to come up used. But I'm guessing yours comes from the time when they had the official Martin contract.
Mine is about 15 years old so I think it’s just one of theirs but I love it! I’ve always wondered about those j45 replicas, I once played a Gibson model and it was lovely x
I really like this content style, just wanna say I’ve been watching some of your videos and I really love the music ❤ since I’m this early I wanna take the opportunity to request a song that I think you’d cover amazingly! The song is called Obstacles by Syd Matters :)
Heya Chris, I'm glad to have discovered you. I was surfing for Nick Drake cover vids and *bam!* you appeared. Thanks for the music. Just two questions if you find time: 1. Think you'll come to the US ever? (Northeast in particular, where you would be welcome). Also, 2., That Sigma --the jaw dropped when you said that's what it was. What's its history? Old / new? I'd heard that the older Sigma line was good, but its sound is gorgeous. I thought it was hand-made by some English country luthier, or something ... Anyway, thanks!
Hello there, yes I hope to come to the US, it will probably be 2026 and the Sigma is about 15 years old I think! It’s quite a rare one, cheap and solid wood, they make some real gems if you find a slightly older one
Really interesting, thanks for sharing. Are you recording into a DAW, and if yes, which brand, if I may ask? For your albums, are you doing your own mixing/mastering? Happy New Year and look forward to your new album. Cheers.
I use Cubase, cheap and cheerful! I do all my own recording then work with someone who knows abit more about mixing than me to get things right. Mixing and mastering is an art in itself
Just keep the rules of contrast in mind. Light, dark, light, dark and so on to win over the human eye with contrast to enjoy while listening to good music. . This video is a perfect example.

Oh that’s a shame Rich, that would have been nice! Looking forward to it!
Thanks Chris, absolutely love your accent 😀
Have a fantastic year Chris.

Great stuff, thanks Chris.
Take your binoculars when you head over to Japan in October…lots of great birds to see & marvelous Autumn colours.
Can’t wait! Food, colours and culture! X

Thank you for this, very useful! Happy new year and see you in March!
Great sound for a single microphone. Best luck with the new album and thanks from Chicago!
Really helpful, Chris. Thanks for this. I aspire to sing and play similarly to you, so your advice is very much appreciated 👌
Hey Tim that’s nice of you to say, thanks for your comment x
Happy robin wich can hear you live all the day. Thanks for sharing your tips about live recordings. Very happy for all these announced concerts abroad but don't forget Europe and Paris 🙂
I hope to come to Europe too! Gosh it feels funny saying Europe as if I am not European anymore 💔

Great work Christian !
Thank you
Nice one Chris, lovely video :)
Would love to see you play, whereabouts in Devon, can't find any details, best wishes from Brixham
It’s going to be at a place called Outside, it should be on my website this week x
@ChrisBrainMusic ah I know it, hope to see you there! Good surf spot too if that's your thing.
Mate, when you play live, it really does sound like a recording… I think that’s a massive compliment.
Your album in March, is it recorded in a studio, or is it a compilation of these live recordings?
Its all my own songs but recorded by my self, I did some overdubbing in a studio for violin and piano x
I was busking tonight. It was damn cold 😅
I don’t envy you!
keep the good work brother!
Thanks, nice info! You didn’t mention the camera and what post editing you do which would be interesting. Good one though!
Hey! That’s all down to you and what you like x
@@ChrisBrainMusic ah ok, good point

Fantastic video! Will you be touring in the United States or Canada in the future?
I hope so! Next year if I am lucky, if not, 2025 x
明けましておめでとう!
いつも素敵な歌とギターをどうもありがとう!
応援しています!from Japan!!

The song you played reminded me of a Alexi Murdoch tune, have you heard of him?
I have, I like 5 or 6 of his songs, they are beautiful
❤

Great work!! What guitar strings do you use please? BEAUTIFUL sound!
Hello, I think they are just standard Ddario.
@ChrisBrainMusic Thank you. LOVE the sound of your guitar!
What part of Scotland are you from?
I’m from Yorkshire England
Thanks for this. Was thinking about recording some videos myself. If I may ask, what camera do you use?
Hey its just a standard 1080p camera, a phone would do the trick!
Just keep the rules of contrast in mind. Light, dark, light, dark and so on to win over the human eye with contrast to enjoy while listening to good music. . This video is a perfect example.
Mate what tuning is this? Standard or? Bloody beautiful
Heya, it’s EADGAE, the A makes things nice and dark when you play it open with other chords, enjoy! X
Gent, have a good Sunday!
Hi mate, can't seem to find an AKG 414, do you mean the C414?
That’s the one, you don’t need one as fancy as mine though, you just want a nice dynamic microphone x
It's not hard for us to believe that you're going to be heading to Japan to play.
Thanks Chris! Can’t see that Sigma online, presume it’s a rare one…
It’s about 15 years old, not many knocking around
@@ChrisBrainMusic You should be getting commission from Sigma at this point 😂
thank you
