This is how I understand it: They're a cultist society, and periodically they must offer a sacrifice to the monster or "Gods", to prevent it from attacking the village. They are so brainwashed that when the girl returns unscathed, they kill her because they think she must die in order for the sacrifice to work.
Took me 3 watches to get that, ngl, plus the visual bars when ciri chops the bauk's head off, it's basically like ciri killed that woman, who was to be sacrificed
The witcher mutations would affect her voice too. Won't make sense for her to have her cutesy high pitched voice after all of that and drinking literal poison daily. Geralt's voice probably wasn't always so gravely either. So I personally don't mind that they went with a different VA. Regarding her elder blood abilities, they made her really overpowered, so the most popular theory so far is that she goes through the witcher mutations to try to get rid of her elder blood abilities, as she saw it as her curse, so you would play as Ciri with only witcher abilities and some sorcery taught to her by Yen and Triss. And maybe by the end of the game you regain the elder blood abilities.
It's not CGI, its all in-game props, they just made it cinematic and pre-rendered. It'll not look as good as this while playing because when we play it renders in real time, but the overall looks of it will mostly be the same as in the trailer.

No mention of realtime or not. We've already been on this ride before with Witcher 3.The final game never wound up looking anything like CG trailer released for it, or even the E3 version shown off years ago. No reason to trust that this is realtime or the final look of the game.

It's not CGI like those trailers from TW3, CGI is when they make the stuff and the film on external software, like aftereffects of something that is made to make films. This trailer was made using Unreal5 and pre-rendered on Unreal5. So they most likely used the stuff they already have for the actual game, just turned up the poligons, texture resolutions and lightning. Then when we play the actual game, we will definitely not have the same quality of graphics, but the general looks (how the clothing, structures and environment look) will be most likely the same or at least close.

well... houston we have some problems here: - ciri dont have or dont use her powers - gerald and yen would never allow her to become a real witcher - females cant survive the trial of grass (its explcitly said they try but it is impossible) - never has an adult undergo the trial of grass and survived - ciri cant use witcher signs because she is a conduit of raw magic - nobody know anymore how to make a new witcher sorry in mean "hell yeah" trailer is super awesome, i love witcher and thats witcher 4 so i love it.
In book 4 its stated her blood is the key to make new and better witchers since the knowledge of the trials was lost with the wolf school The games stray heavily from the books and only take inspiration. So most likely she and or some other third parties figured out how to make the trials more efficient using her blood and ciri was the first one to try the new method using her blood. It's also within reason that since her destiny is in her own hands she talked geralt and yen into helping her become a new generation witcher or went against their judgement and sought out a way to do it anyways. Geralt already made her a witcher in wild hunt so if she found a way to make the trials more efficient then I can see geralt letting her do it. She also most likely wanted to be free of the burden and power since she fulfilled the prophecy and be a witcher like geralt instead, which the trials would take her time and space powers away.

Great reaction, one thing that CDPRipoff has shown that they can do with their most recent release of Cyberpuke, they sure can make a good cinematic. I can't wait to see what lies they will spin and tall tales they will boast about to get this money grab. It's become an industry standard with some to create garbage that won't even run on day one. Then produce patch after patch, yet they call it a game. A finished product. Then release a DLC to their attempted game to make it appear that they have a finished game. But here I have to, it's clearly the reaction of a person who pretends to know what they're watching.
She's Poseidon - NO! Ciri is a sorceress, CDP Red clearly reversed her "block" and here she draws from the source of the water element.
This is not a rapling hook, this is a silver chain that Geralt used.
There are more mistakes, and if this girl watched and commented without pretending to know what she's watching I wouldn't be able to say a bad word.

i have zero faith that CDPR will make a good game. yet alone a good story. They have been leaking good devs for years now and they are chasing blackrock money. it wont be good.

Great reaction, one thing that CDPRipoff has shown that they can do with their most recent release of Cyberpuke, they sure can make a good cinematic. I can't wait to see what lies they will spin and tall tales they will boast about to get this money grab. It's become an industry standard with some to create garbage that won't even run on day one. Then produce patch after patch, yet they call it a game. A finished product. Then release a DLC to their attempted game to make it appear that they have a finished game. I hope I am wrong with the Witcher 4 but CDPR has lost all credibility after their stunt. I expect another failure from them, mostly because the hype is already there for Ciri. It's all about the money with them, they could care less about their fanbase obviously.

non of the witcher games was a failure . and even cyberpunk was a succes( rough start was bad) i had good PC so in cyberpunk i had only fun nothing else . probably you taking too serious this things. let people enjoy
It's gonna be TLoU2 which sold half the amount of copies of the first part. Mark my words. I said DA:V will sell 2 milion, have 200k top number of players and drop to 2k concurrent after 2 months.
