Why is MLS Football played on a Baseball Field?

Why does New York City FC play soccer at Yankee Stadium? They are the only MLS team and professional football club in the world that is actually hosted in baseball stadium. This fascinating home of football is weird but unique. How does New York compete at the highest levels in one of the most expensive stadiums in the world. Initially founded in 2013, NYCFC did not have its own dedicated soccer-specific stadium when it joined Major League Soccer (MLS). Finding suitable locations and securing approvals to build a new stadium in New York City was complex and almost impossible. And so they partnered with the New York Yankees, one of the most iconic franchises in Major League Baseball (MLB). They share the field in the Bronx and raise the culture of both baseabll and soccer in the community. This is the story of playing at Yankee Stadium. A dream you never knew existed...
