Yeah, that's the thing with the "Dragon of Dojima" legend/myth. People know the power, the suit, but not the face. Hence why the Fake Kiryu was able to get away with it and why this "disguise" works
Funny thing is that since this game made after 8 but released before 8, Animation look pretty smooth and more natural like how thing could move in real world. In past games, There's a little bit janky in animation during cutscene and you could tell this is game cutscene. But in this game, It's feel less like video games and more like movie. I can't imagine how great animation going to be once we get another Yakuza games.
I enjoy how quite this opening is compared to judgment or lost judgment's opening. It's simply kiryu living, kinda like the opening scene for yakuza 5. I love both

I'm someone who doesn't like rap as a genre, but there can and will always be exceptions to this thinking. I can appreciate a good rap song like this, but there's simply too much rap that isn't like this. And it doesn't apply to just rap, it applies to a lot fo different music genres for other people. They'll say they hate dubstep, but one of their favorite songs is dubstep. As for my opinion on this song? Absolutely great fit

You can find the music great but it doesn't fit what Yakuza stands for. They picked the song to pander to young folks from the western world. That's why it makes it so cringe... One neat details I spotted in this intro is that, When you take a look at Kiryu's face when he smoke, He didn't happy or having stoic face he normally did in past games. Instead, He look desperate. He look like his 5's self again where he stuck at lowest point of his life. He didn't see any hope and he want to cry but he can't. And cigarettes now used in different context than before. In past games, You seen cigarettes interpret in different meaning. Either coolness, stylishness or messiness. But here, When you see that face of Kiryu, Only thing that make sense is that he want to escape bad feeling that comeback to haunt him after bad decision he did. One of reason people used drugs(Altrough I am pretty much against it,) like cigar is that they have really high stress, Have many bad feelings happens all at once and don't know how to released it elsewhere.

I actually really like the song, and while some may think the rap doesn't suit Kiryu, I think there's a symbolic reasoning for it. The rap isn't for Kiryu, but for Joryu. It shows how Kiryu has essentially disappeared and now something completely different has come in his place. The tone of the rap sounds upbeat, but there's a melancholy feel to it. It shows the excitement of the secret agent life Kiryu now leads, but also all he has lost along with his name.
Even though we don't see it but i feel like that through this whole intro it seems like Kiryu just couldn't catch or take a break. Like his break in the bar was so short just after most likely being bodyguard to the unknown red head white fur coat woman from the trailer.
My personal headcanon is that Kiryu started to smoke alot more often to try to keep his feelings about those he miss together cuz my own dad used to smoke to calm down a long time ago (thankfully he's stopped a long time ago too). That along with his aging caused...the thing Man, Like A Dragon 8's gonna kick my feelings in the balls...
