Hi Patrick - great video! The one thing I am wondering. If I add external e-mail addresses to the list, the subscription is not working.
I don’t find much MS documentation how to easily send a subscription email (only the pdf) to external people (outside our org).
Do you have an idea how this can be set-up easily?

    Hi Patrick,
report recipient should have active pbi sucsription ?

Nice..... I wish that there could be a way to improve the content of the email in the first place. The email content could tell most of the story rather than the recipient having to open an attachment or go to the report itself.
We're using Power Automate at the moment but it adds a layer of complexity.

    Hi Patrick!
Your dashboard graphic is stunning, how did you do that (Top bar background, graphs titles background…)?
    Thanks

Good question. I do a lot of my graphics work in Canva and import it as a background

    Nice video as always.
Assume I have a dynamic RLS setup implemented for one of my report .But in dynamic subscriptions I am not explicitly specifying that. Only emails are showing to be send. In that way the end user see all data? I mean RLS would bypass?

RLS would not bypass as far as I am aware.

Hi Patrick - How do I set up to where it sends the email to multiple recipients in the same email thread. I have tried adding two separate emails in the same cell of the semantic table separated by a " ; " but that still sends them as two separate emails. Thank you!!!

Excellent video, but I have a question: I have a report with a history, but I only want to send each user to their email the filtered summary for each week, from Monday to Saturday, weekly, how can I add that filter so that it is generated automatically and not have to place it manually?

    • @JonHeide

You could add a dynamic filter to the subscription that filters your desired date/day of week range. Then bind that to another measure in your report that calculates current date/day of week.

Hi Patrick, thanks for your video! I wonder if you can help me troubleshoot an issue I have with a dynamic subscription. I have set up a dynamic email subscription to a Power BI report of 10 pages, that includes a pdf export of the report. The pdf attachment shows problems in 3 pages and I cannot see anything in the report that could trigger this specifically in those 3 pages and not in the other 7. On the 3 affected pages, all sites in the report are shown (including sites that should not be listed in that subscription, and that in fact are not shown on other pages) but data is populated only for the sites mapped in the subscription, leaving blank cells or graphs for the non-subscription sites. I have spent more than a week trying to understand what could go wrong, so any hint would be very much appreciated!

The documentation for dynamic per recipient subscriptions says there is a current limitation of 50 rows in the recipient list. Do we know if this will be increased when it moves to GA? Also, is there a way to group recipients so it's not running the same report for individuals with identical permissions?

Increased limits are coming. Paginated reports were just increased to 1k. PBI is coming soon, stay tuned.

However, a lot of echo in the audio... more like guy in a chamber than in a cube. 😂

Another Premium Capacity Feature I can't use because I'm not big enough. Seriously, think of the little guy for once.

You can use this feature with any fabric capacity, F2 starts at $262 a month. It no longer needs to be a PBI premium capacity @ $5000 a month.
