Lovely short film! I think the reason her imaginary friend looks like that is because she is imagining her dad who probably she has never seen, and hence the dark face.
An Oscar for the one that came up with this idea. Excellent.
They watched a lot of original Twilight Zone, Beastie Boys, and a few Chucky movies.
That was just wonderful. Black and white, dream-like. Great story, acting, script, and cinematography.
Whatever is better than an A+. Magnificent piece of work. Clearly an immeasurable amount of care went into making it.

So cute! I had imaginary friends as a kid...not for long because I was always able to entertain myself just fine... I loved bicycling, and where I grew up I could ride to the beach in one direction, and to San Francisco in the other.... I'd go and catch frogs and other wildlife, or just poke around exploring. Plus in those days, friends and I felt safe in the streets and would play all the usual kid games.....no smartphones or even home computers in those days, so we had to run around outside or play board games on rainy days.....typical childhood pre internet. So glad I did! I'm no authority, but I have a deep intuition that we'll look back in dismay at the first couple of generations raised on smartphones. I think we'll adapt and will design phones that aren't so addictive, that will promote healthy childhoods. In the meantime I wish kids WOULD have an occasional imaginary friend or two, but alas, I think those days are over....
