Maganda umaga, mga mandirigma! Wag nating kalilimutang mag-proper streaming.
The lyrics of this song are quite amazing. The song's words are subtle but incredibly impactful. The song video clearly highlights the past efforts of the Filipino people against their colonizers, despite their ongoing attempts to subjugate our country. This song effectively uses media to depict the story of the Philippines' past.
DAHIL PUSONG MANDIRIGMA 'DI PAPAKUTYA 'DI PAPAPUGONG ‼‼🗣🗣
The National Commission of Culture and Arts should recognize this group theyre truly nurturing our Filipino Culture please lang❤
Padayon!

Yes! fr they have the best concept, choreo, and costumes💯
This may sound weird, but they are the most culturally significant Ppop group today 🥳🇵🇭❤️
@@ronkaiser3091 That doesn't weird. You're riiight culturally speaking hehe
I think ALAMAT is now my favorite Filipino group, and for good reason. They never fail to deliver great visuals and music that truly resonate with our identity as Filipinos. Throughout the entire music video, I had goosebumps, as they made me feel represented and proud of our history. Despite being colonized and haunted for the past few years, it's evident that we Filipinos are resilient and always united. These lines: “Wala tayong laban kung kawal sa kawal. Pero 'pag sama-sama nating palibutan, Ewan ko na lang kung hindi sila kilabutan” proved that even though we are outnumbered, once we come together, we could build an unbreakable army that defies all odds. Additionally, these lines, “Pagdating ng bukang-liwayway sa wakas ay Naiwawagayway na rin natin ang tatlong bituin at isang araw,” offer a glimmer of hope that even after all that we have been through, especially those heroes who have sacrificed their lives for our country's freedom, we are still capable of facing adversities with our heads held high and continuing to raise our flag.
Kudos! ALAMAT
(p.s. It's unfortunate that this talented group isn't getting the recognition they deserve as some are more invested in other foreign groups than our own. TANGKILIKIN ANG SARILING ATIN!)
OPM...they deserve more recognition! PROUD PINOY!
I AM REALLY CONVINCED THAT ALAMAT HAS THE BEST RAP LINE 🙌
Legit! 🤎
This is not just P-POP anymore - this is CULTURAL POP. LIKE YES MY BOYS GO AND SPREAD YOUR WINGS AND YOUR CAREFULLY CRAFTED MUSIC AHHHHHHH I WANT TO CRY AGAIN

When I witnessed the Dagundong’s music video, it gives me goosebumps. Their decision to release a song that highlights historical oppression in a where cultural imperialism still exist in a quiet daring and remarkable way. I hope alamat continue to rise not just here but also to the global scene.

Alamat is a true trendsettler. While listening to their new song titled Dagundong, there a part that gives me chills when they highlight how Native Filipino's culture is being lost and how the government manipulates it. It also shows how Filipino people trying to resist them in the past. This group is making a scene hy using media to meaningfully address our nations past and history also it gives the audience the audience the idea on how globalization affects our nation and lives.

Finally, the Philippines embracing the beauty of our own culture supporting PPOP instead of K-pop. We may mesh some western and northern style to our own but in the end we still have the native heart of Filipinos and we must fathom it deeply with the creativity we have been blessed by the Lord! God bless you all and may this Boy Group continue to raise the flag of the Philippines with humility, courage and confidence ❤🎉
Been waiting for this song since the trailer for Penduko got released and they exceeded my expectations like WOWW.

THIS SONG PROVES ALAMAT IS PROUD PINOY!!!!!! STAN ALAMAT!!!!! ❤
This MV gave what they thought Kasmala MV gave. Detailed, well-crafted, layered, meaningful, thought-provoking, captivating, entertaining, curated, stylized. Best Alamat MV so far.
Let's make it to 200K views this week guys. ❤❤❤
Sana more drivers include this on their playlist para mas madami makarinig
Dagundong is the cry of our ancestors. It's time we hear them loud and clear! Thank you, Alamat. Our dark history has been given awareness in your music, through pop culture. Healing is next. Although I'm Filipino, I had to read the English translation out of curiosity. The words are so profound and full of passion, it's still difficult for me to understand but it resonates deep in my soul!
kung kaya ko lng sumyaw i ti tiktok ko din to

I think natatamasa na natin na makilala sila. Dati tagal mag 100k views ng mv nila ngayon wala pang 1 week we're almost there!!
Well they really deserve it ...and dpt million views na sana to eh
this MV serves as a reminder of Filipinos' bravery and nationalism, where we can see how we battle for colonizer's dominance that oppress our traditions and customs. it is very apparent in this MV what imperial powers brought to us. and how we strengthen our political security over the years and that still, we must strengthen it more
Truth hurts, not everyone gonna accept it especially when Alamat sing about history even though it's catchy and meaningful enough to at least deserves 1 million views already
eto naman dapat ang pasikatin manifesting❤❤❤😊
malalagpasan na si walang hanggan.
This group has inspired me to never give up on things even though there's no chance or we have a chance. This group shows me to keep fighting and never give up on life even though we are uncertain of what will happen to us. Congratulations alamat! Continue to shine and I'll always be here for you and be your greatest fan. Laban!

Philippine History in one songg!!!!! ALAMAT!!!! Be true to your brand!!!! Ituloy nyo lang mga mahal!!!! 😚💖
This song and music video reverberates with historical themes, that are inevitably political. It reminds me a bit of Alamat's early song Kasmala, which had a music video on the themes of colonial oppression and racism, including the experience of Filipinos in the US. But the lyrics of that song were not that specifically controversial, it was more the music video.
In this song, the lyrics deal with three violent episodes in Philippine history, and the struggles against different external powers that shaped a warrior spirit of resistance. However, it takes a rather nuanced view of history, sometimes the winners and the losers are not so clear. (First verse) In the battle of Mactan in 1521, native warriors killed Spain's would-be conquistador Ferdinand Magellan in battle, but the conquest of the archipelago now known as the Philippines was only postponed for about 50 years. The Spaniards came back with new expeditions, and eventually subjugated the scattered communities on different islands, establishing a single colonial administration. (Second verse) Much later in the 1880s, the Spaniards had coopted local elites, but there was a movement of intellectuals educated in Spain and influenced by progressive ideas (liberte, egalite, fraternite) who campaigned for political change and against the corruption and exploitation coming from the colonizers and Spanish-controlled church. The outlook of most of these intellectuals was generally reformist, culminating in two influential novels by Jose Rizal in 1887 and 1891, which exposed the ills of the ancien regime in the Philippines and forged a national consciousness to enact political changes. This eventually inspired a grassroots revolution in 1896, tearing of the tax certificates that natives were required to carry around was the symbol of resistance. By 1898 the Spaniards had by-and-large been militarily defeated. (Another song from this album IsaPuso is Noli written by half-Black American member Mo, it references characters from that 1887 novel Noli Me Tangere as well as a contemporary video series that dramatizes it.)
(Third Verse) The Philippine Revolution happened when the Americans were establishing indirect imperial control in Latin America, and eventually acquired the remaining Spanish colonies of Puerto Rico (directly) and Cuba (indirectly, through coopting local sugar planter elites). The US and Spain later negotiated the Treaty of Paris, where the US took over Spanish claims to the Philippines, although the Spaniards no longer controlled most of its territory. The Americans sent ships to Manila Bay, and claimed to have defeated the Spanish navy and gained "legitimate" possession of the Philippine islands, although the battle was fake as the outcome had already been negotiated. This gave rise to the Philippine-American war where the movement for national independence was eventually defeated by force, and local elites cast their lot with the new colonizers.
It was through successive periods of history that a unified national consciousness was forged in the Philippines from the fragmented ethnic groups that experienced colonialism. (2:01Tomas and Jao sing lines about getting to wave three stars and a sun, a reference to the Philippine flag designed during the revolution to represent different regions of the Philippines). Alamat has a unique concept among P-pop groups, because its members are recruited from six different regions of the Philippines, and write raps in their regional languages. So Alamat is an explicitly multi-lingual and multi-ethnic group (different members speak Ilocano, Kapampangan, Bicolano, Waray and Bisaya, plus all the members speak Filipino and English), celebrating the diversity and unique cultures of different regions while demonstrating unity of purpose in forging a more inclusive Filipino identity.
Thank you Apple Music for introducing me to Alamat!🎀🫶🏻
