Even for local Indonesian like me, I only go to malioboro to take pictures and go to the restaurant that already have fix price. So is not unique to foreigners, even local Indonesia that behave like tourists will be targeted by scammers, honestly is a shame and it's really annoying how Yogyakarta local government didn't seem to do anything to address that problem yet. Anyway enjoy your exploration in Indonesia.

I'll suggest you to go to Semarang City or Solo City. Both of these city are not far from Yogyakarta.
Yogyakarta - Semarang take 3 hour trip
Yogyakarta - Solo take 1 hour trip.

Many people said Yogyakarta is boring except for those who have memories in it. It's interesting to see Yogyakarta from a visitor. Whoa Jogja is really different from someone who don't speak Javanese, because people who speak Javanese they would be so ecstatic after arrive and speak to everyone.
That white transparent thing is kolang-kaling, it's good for heat.
Hmm nothing really interesting here, I am originally from Jogja but I agree with you guys it's not really that good, somehow. But Jogja is actually huge. So yeah there are still many that we don't see yet.

@@Mintexplores yeah because not everyone speak Javanese out there so when you finally can talk again in your mother language it's really good. Like, not everyone speak Portuguese too. And yeah I actually don't really recommend traditional food from Jogjakarta if you're first time here 😂 it could be too spicy and you don't know yet where the hospital. So it's okay to eat potatoes.

If you go to Yogyakarta, the best place to visit is a non touristy area. Try to go to countryside area, like local village and so on. You will find the realside of Yogyakarta. 😉👌🏼

You can actually pay with your foreign debit/credit card on KAI access app, you just have to find the option when at payment page. The more you know I guess, but you can booked a ticket with traveloka as well, both app working similar anyway😅

the batik exhibition guy is scammer. its not an exhibition by "artist" its just batik store selling batik. you will see the "exhibition" for free but they will pressure you to buy stuff from them. just say no to them.

Welcome to my hometown.. This time I will not recommend street food or local food because after observing your videos while in Indonesia it seems that you avoid tasting the local cultural styles on culinary that you visit.. I only advise you to visit KOTA GEDE, the center silver crafts where you can learn how to make various crafts from silver according to your own taste or design... around Jogja you can visit Batik galleries to see and learn BATIK making techniques and make your own Batik..

Say no to any "exhibition" at Yogyakarta, they can speak english well but they are scammer, some bule youtuber already recording them, so they now afraid and will ask you if you are a youtuber if you have camera on 🤣
Usually they will teach you making small batik then you must buy it with high price, sometime only explain some batik then you must buy it with high price

Tidak tepat juga bila disebut scammer. Mereka hanya sales person dari so called art exhibition untuk menarik turis dan mendapat komisi. Disebut scammer bila misalnya mereka menjual barang palsu dengan harga seperti barang asli. Tidak ada paksaan untuk menuruti tawaran mereka. Anda bisa langsung menolak mereka dengan baik. Juga tidak ada paksaan untuk membeli barang seni di toko. Anda bisa memilih untuk tidak membeli apapun di toko mereka. Hanya saja, dari video turis-turis lain yang saya tonton, si penjual akan berubah sikap menjadi agak kurang ramah misalnya dengan meminta anda untuk mematikan kamera. Tapi harus diakui bahwa hal ini membuat rasa kurang nyaman dan malah kesan kurang baik dari para pengunjung Jogja

Dari komenku yg video jakarta. Aku pernah menulis jogjakarta banyak oknum penjual berkedok sopir,pedagang, pura pura menolong. Hati hati mereka rata rata penipu. Mereka fasih bahasa inggris. Bukan seperti masyarakat biasa yang kurang paham inggris. Banyak turis asing jadi korban.
