A black lady (who now is a journalist) talked about it as she was in their '79 UK Wembley consecutive 6 (!)sold-out night gigs and had participated in the children's choir on stage live. She shared her beautiful memories from this experience and from the nice interaction with Abba members recalling many lovely , interesting details.
Love ❤ Frida singing the first verse... and the appears Agnetha armonizing with her and this song becomes something colossal🤩! Please more 🅰️🅱️🅱️🅰️! Greetings ❤ from Chile 🇨🇱🤗👍
It's an electric sitar to answer your question. In the live version it's replaced with Benny on the piano and Bjorn's acoustic guitar all 4 around the piano until the kid's choir enters the stage.
Hi Shawn. "I Have A Dream" was a 1979 hit for ABBA. Their recording utilized an electric sitar played by Janne Schaffer. In 1980 it was a hit on the Country charts for Country / Christian artist Cristy Lane. In 1999 it was a #1 hit for the Irish pop group Westlife. Because of it's easy going rhythm, I always thought of it as ABBA's foot in country music's door. Also, The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 1979 as the "International Year of the Child" & that's why the song is so positive & uses children in the chorus of ABBA's version. Take care! --- Bill
"I have a dream" (1979) is from the album with disco sound "Voulez Vous" this album give four singles in the original: Chiquitita Does your mother know Angeleyes/Voulez Vous I have a dream All this singles was Top 5 in UK, but no one could be #1 curiosly the two ballads "Chiquitita" & "I have a dream" pick #2 at begin and at end of 1979 another curiosly: 1979 was the "International year to the childrens of the world" and these is the first song in ABBA with other people: a childrens chorus of Stockholm (in the new álbum Voyage frim 2021 there is another song with a children chorus: Little things, with royalties to UNICEF) and "Chiquitita", with lyrics about a child, your royalties was donated to UNICEF forever two ABBA songs with childrens as protagonist another curiosly: for the great success in Latin America, then ABBA recording "Chiquitita" in spanish, it was a smash hit, and the second song that ABBA recording in spanish (that year) was: "I had a dream" ("Estoy soñando"), with the first official video of ABBA singing in spanish (I have a dream is the first ABBA song with official video in spanish, the second ABBA song released in spanish and the third ABBA song recorded in spanish, because Ring Ring was in 1973 but not released until 1995) There is is a new official lyric video that ABBA did last year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of "ABBA Gold" album ABBA finally edit new official lyric videos for the 19 songs included in it I have a dream was performed in a Spanish TV '300 millions' to Latin America and included in 1979 Tour (with children chorus of each city when ABBA did a live perfomanece) and in a TV perfomance at 1982 In my personal opinion "I have a dream" is a good song (7pts) but not in my favourites ABBA songs it's one of my last favourites of all 20 ABBA songs Top10 in UK but all is about taste I wish to you a Greatest weekend from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South America
I enjoy even better the Live version from their final tour as filmed in their Wembley '79 version. Its less polished instrumentation feels more heartwarming and 'real'.And Anni-Frid also does a fine live delivery on the lead.
Have you heard I`m a marionette? Something very different, amazing song, part of the mini musical from The Album. I personally like the sitar. Fits perfectly to this song.
Trivia time, the only time both the top 2 songs in the UK chart features a children's choir is when pink Floyd's another brick in the wall pt2 is at the top and ABBAs I have a dream at the runner up slot. It never happened again.

One of Frida's finest vocal ever put on record. She's the brunette
It is great for sure!

Great info thanks for sharing Bill!
"I have a dream" (1979)
is from the album with disco sound
"Voulez Vous"
this album give four singles in the original:
Chiquitita
Does your mother know
Angeleyes/Voulez Vous
I have a dream
All this singles was Top 5 in UK, but no one could be #1
curiosly the two ballads
"Chiquitita" & "I have a dream"
pick #2 at begin and at end of 1979
another curiosly:
1979 was the
"International year to the childrens of the world"
and these is the first song in ABBA
with other people:
a childrens chorus of Stockholm
(in the new álbum Voyage frim 2021 there is another song with a children chorus: Little things, with royalties to UNICEF)
and "Chiquitita", with lyrics about a child, your royalties was donated to UNICEF forever
two ABBA songs with childrens as protagonist
another curiosly:
for the great success in Latin America,
then ABBA recording "Chiquitita" in spanish, it was a smash hit,
and the second song that ABBA recording in spanish (that year) was: "I had a dream" ("Estoy soñando"),
with the first official video of ABBA singing in spanish
(I have a dream
is the first ABBA song with official video in spanish,
the second ABBA song released in spanish
and the third ABBA song recorded in spanish,
because Ring Ring was in 1973 but not released until 1995)
There is is a new official lyric video that ABBA did last year
to celebrate the 30th anniversary of "ABBA Gold" album
ABBA finally edit new official lyric videos for the 19 songs included in it
I have a dream
was performed in a Spanish TV '300 millions' to Latin America
and included in 1979 Tour (with children chorus of each city when ABBA did a live perfomanece)
and in a TV perfomance at 1982
In my personal opinion
"I have a dream" is a good song (7pts)
but not in my favourites ABBA songs
it's one of my last favourites of all 20 ABBA songs Top10 in UK
but all is about taste
I wish to you a Greatest weekend
from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷
South America
Thanks for watching and sharing!

Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Appreciate it! Hope all is well in Sweden!
Oooh, well I'm glad you covered this one here, as I would only further upset Abba fans I've already offended if I were to offer my thoughts on it...!
Haha!
Have you heard I`m a marionette? Something very different, amazing song, part of the mini musical from The Album. I personally like the sitar. Fits perfectly to this song.
Have not, will check it out. Thanks!

That is great trivia! Thanks for sharing Mike!
Could have been a UK number 1 if it's not blocked by pink Floyd's another brick in the wall pt2
Yep I mention that
