I’ve been playing Roblox for the past 7 years, and I still remember the days where eggplants were just vegetables, slenders were just really tall people, avatars with cat ears weren’t considered furries, the Roblox oof sound, and tix.
I miss the days when /e dance was like a virus with about 10 other players started dancing as well. I miss when /me existed, I miss when roblox did good events, the most recent example which I will give credit to them is the 2024 egg hunt. I miss when. Flamingo made admin vids and funny vids with his old pals because roblox just had better kinder people on it. I miss the days when after a long day at school I could wind down witha new tycoon, Godzilla simulator and maybe an hobby or two. Its sad, but in the end it has to be this way I suppose. This isnt just about them banning old games - this is about them fostering bad ones. Every old game that dies that had good gameplay is being replaced with a cashgrab simulator variant designed with the express purpose of swindling as much money away from children as possible.

As a roblox player who started in 2016, I may not be as old as someone who started say 2012 but I think I’ve been playing for a very long time, and I’m proud of playing the game, I remember very popular games of the era slowly dying out and now seeing games that may not be able to replace, but they try and I think a attempt is good even if roblox cannot fulfill it

Roblox sometimes even lets inappropriate things like games and items get away. I once got banned for the most random reason that is not even bad which proves moderation has been horrible. im not a nostalgia addict, but i agree. there is not much color and there is copy and paste games more than ever. back then, the closest inconveniences you would get were hackers and scammers in my experience. On the front page, you could at least see new interesting games at different times and try them out. But from what i see now, you see the same popular games that probably been there for god knows how long and you actually have to go out of your way to find new interesting ones.

Started around 2008-2009 and created my first account in 2011, back when my brother had a PC, shit was slow as hell, could take minutes to load really basic stuff. I remember playing HL2, L4D and Minecraft Beta. Started to play ROBLOX due to some friends of mine that used say that it was a better version of Minecraft. Kind of like didn't believe them until I tried it. Used my brother PC and played as a Guest. I could last hours from evening to the next morning and it was great! I remember playing the ROBLOX iOS apps that were basically Natural Disaster Survival and Space Knights. It's really cool to see how far ROBLOX has evolved. Not even mad, it's just, impressive. There are stuff that I don't like, but still, it is still incredible to see how ROBLOX changed these days.

Roblox has even stopped doing egg hunts. Last event I can remember is metaverse heroes, and then the event tab has just been “OH SPOTIFY MADE A GAME COME PLAY IT PLEASE SPOTIFY PAYED US A LOTTA MONEY TO SHOW THIS HERE”. I still play Roblox. But I’m not going to buy robux, because i don’t support their current decisions. Roblox needs to learn, stopping others from calling your platform a garbage fire doesn’t stop the garbage fire, it’s like putting a blanket over that fire. They need to extinguish that fire with money being put into moderation, events, and overall, just put some money into the better of the players. Roblox has even stopped doing egg hunts. Last event I can remember is metaverse heroes, and then the event tab has just been “OH SPOTIFY MADE A GAME COME PLAY IT PLEASE SPOTIFY PAYED US A LOTTA MONEY TO SHOW THIS HERE”. I still play Roblox. But I’m not going to buy robux, because i don’t support their current decisions. Roblox needs to learn, stopping others from calling your platform a garbage fire doesn’t stop the garbage fire, it’s like putting a blanket over that fire. They need to extinguish that fire with money being put into moderation, events, and overall, just put some money into the better of the players. If they can start actually helping the players, I might start considering buying robux. Also this feels like EVERY company is doing stupid stuff. Discord has the dumb username change, Reddit basically killed 3rd party apps, Twitter made Twitter blue and litteraly removed check marks, and Roblox is beginning to change almost everything that made Roblox, Roblox.

Despite joining roblox in 2019, this still hit me like a truck, as despite only playing roblox for 5 years, i still remember the old roblox, where everything was much simpler.
I have tought of quitting, but due to the persisteance of devs who make actually good games, i still belive that one day, someone, somehow will change roblox back to something great again.
