@a88senna I obviously won't be able to convince you otherwise... but one question. Why would he have needed to jump to catch that ball. It wasn't a high ball and from my memory, it bounced up into his arms? He was jumping into the tackle and knew what he was doing. But look, don't take my word for it, listen to what Mark (as a neutral) has to say in his video.
Love your takes dude genuinely feel your love of rugby ✌️😊 Would someone please explain why the Jordie Barret’s shoulder to Bundies head was not reviewed? Am I just missing something?
TMO did look at it and decided it wasn't worth looking into in detail. Which was my impression watching it, looked like Bundee was just trying to milk a card. But happy to be proven wrong if anyone can show a clip
When you have Irish officials they give everything to Leinster as it helps their career. only issue is when they get to international they screw up and get kicked out of the job
Fairly pleased with Connacht's performance as a fan. But, as is usually the case with Connacht, they gave up a silly penalty at a really critical time, right at the end, when they were the closest to winning.
Thanks for the analysis Mark. Missed the game but watching it now. What I didn't miss was the Mack Hansen/Pete Wilkins presser afterwards. Mack, using some colourful language, pulled no punches about the referee, I think he felt Leinster got away with a lot including what looked like a red card offence by Barrett against Aki. It was at least a,yellow and they didn't even look at it. Even the commentary was thinking red. He complained generally about the treatment of Connacht with regards to referee calls and though not saying it directly, Wilkins indicated that there might be an official complaint about the referee and TMO. We will see what happens.
As a neutral here, the refereeing here looked *wildly* one-sided. How the heck was the Barrett incident not even looked at??? It looked a clear red to me, but to not even *look* at it? If I was Connacht player, I think I’d be pretty raging right now! Must be frustrating enough seeing the IRFU chucking millions at Leinster, without the ref playing to their fans too 😬
Thought the 5 academy players for Leinster did well overall but the big names really carried it. Barrett was great but a VERY lucky man not to get a card early on for tackle on Aki...TMO asleep? Despite, yet again, poor lineouts we still got a win. Felt sorry for Connacht not getting a bonus point and thought Cian Prendergast played a blinder tonight.
Hi from Ireland, I'm glad you got a nice morning start , enjoy the show :-) as a neutral who watched the game , did you see mack hansans after match critism? Has he a point or not ?
Thanks Mark. A game of 2 very different halves. Inconsistent tmo, not one-sided. Leinster deserved their win. Jordie was awesome & lucky in equal measure. Exciting second half. Disappointed Connacht couldn't make the last s ore, but proud of their 2nd half energy. They need to play teams in the first half though. A bit of a trend. Merry Christmas to you all out there!
Very experimental team. Happy with result. Connacht lack a top class number 10. Leinster all set for Munster challenge with a very different 15 I'm sure.
From a Connacht perspective, this was a VERY poor result - Leinster's second/third choice selection, featuring five academy players in the 23 player squad, up against what is probably Connacht's best available 23 - and Connacht never lead... Pete Wilkins must be hoping he can poach another few Leinster players....
@@patrickporter1864what are they doing in munster to have so many injuries? I thought snyman was a crazy signing when it broke but here he is playing every match. Makes you wonder. I'm a leinster fan but I hope munster can turn it around.
I usually just accept that refs are human: they have bad nights, make mistakes and some are better/braver than others. But this guy was absolutely terrible. Coming from Munster I have no skin in the game but even to a neutral it was obvious.
Man we know you watch the Irish games because you're a secret Irish supporter and Hibernophile. It's ok you can just admit it instead of making excuses. Doesn't mean you're getting Jordie Barrett back though.
I asked two cents on a live stream what his favorite club team is outside of NZ- he said probably Leinster. Also I hate to admit it but Jordie Barret is fairly showing up our guys at the moment
I thought connaught were really good , messed up leinster speed and line outs and frankly looked very dangerous . Leinster relived at the end of that. So I would say connaught hold heads high and leinster job done. So win win, but very dull game , save for it being close, which did very much make it a game.
Anyone who thought this was going to be a walkover for Leinster was wrong. A heavily rotated Leinster side versus a full strength on form Connacht. Leinster probably got the rub of the green with the referee.
Leinster and Connacht are by far the best two provinces. Ulster have potential (should have beaten Munster with 14 men). Munster are an AIL team at best.
Can't understand people that support decent rugby, say the ref was basis, leinster had two yellow cards, leinster are really not playing well and won that game, what does that say about connacht,, I think Irish rugby in general is in a bad place, but Gorgie Barrett is a breath of fresh air, love your podcast mark, total respect from Dublin,,
That Cordero penalty was ludicrous. He caught the ball standing on the ground and then jumped as King was about to tackle him.
He was tackled in the air, it's as clear a penalty as you'll see.
Yes... should have been a penalty the other way
@@a88sennaHe caught the ball and then jumped into the tackle. It is an illegal action and should have been a penalty the other way... law 9.11
@@paulennis2996 No he jumped to catch the ball, you can watch it back if you like. He didn't need to jump, but he was perfectly legal in doing so.

I guess it was just because he plays for Leinster and the match was in Dublin.
The ref seemed keen to be popular with the crowd.
TMO did look at it and decided it wasn't worth looking into in detail. Which was my impression watching it, looked like Bundee was just trying to milk a card. But happy to be proven wrong if anyone can show a clip
I swear TMOs have gotten a real ego lately. So many examples of them arguing with refs this year despite the fact they are not in charge.
Yeah it sucks when the ref makes a call and the TMO starts "I'm just going to show you one more angle...."
When you have Irish officials they give everything to Leinster as it helps their career. only issue is when they get to international they screw up and get kicked out of the job
I don’t like how TMO’s make their observations on plays as gospel, they should be in service to the referee not the other way around.
Just ban englishmen from reffing in general 😊
@KewKew-do3kq must be a munster fan 😅

Referee was just bad not one-sided.
Josh Murphy threw an elbow at Snyman's throat in the ground and throws a clear punch at Snyman's head.
You said it. It’s years of it now.
Connacht unlucky not to get bonus point. Barret lucky not to get a card with a shoulder on Bundee, i think he got some special treatment there.

He's class. I don't know how he didn't get more game time in November.
If he was playing in a blue shirt he’d be there already
Barret getting man of the match when he should have been sent off. No surprise the Dublin media there though.
