Please make a distinction between the Protestant and Catholic Churches and their state sponsored religious institutions… eg anglicanism, and French Catholicism. In terms of catholic and English Anglicanism the pay of missionaries being the primary way. American Protestants (that had Chattel slavery) forced their religion upon their slaves. Whilst the English (who by this time had resolved against slavery) simply paid for missionaries, or the Catholics (who have long disagreed with forced conversion) who built churches. The native African belief systems were quite brutal and were quite weak in comparison to Christianity. So they died out slowly.

But also the accusations they make on the Catholic Church are outrageous. Plus, a lot of the stuff they say are just weird
"Traditional Catholicism leads to Orthodoxy" despite there being absolutely nothing to back that up but personal experience.
"The Catholic Church split from the Orthodox Church" despite the Catholic Church holding direct apostolic succession to Saint Peter and still continuing the Papacy, while Orthodoxy is still questioning its 'religious sexuality'
There's a reason why Orthodox countries are the most underdeveloped compared to the rest of Europe. Catholic Eastern European nations like Hrvatska and Polska are rapidly developing, while the Orthodox East are stagnating.

i am an ex-muslim villager in the Middle East... i was a protestant for 3 years, but after i moved to a big city, God led me to orthodoxy and i started going to a Russian Orthodox Church... How the church treated me was horrible... The only thing that the priests cared about was money... But i didn't give up, i thought of this as satan trying his best to keep me away from converting... So i kept praying and searching... Now i have found a tiny Russian Orthodox Church and let me tell you something... IT FEELS LIKE HOME! The priest is such a gentle soul and all other people in the church are faithful believing people... I HAVE FOUND MY FAMILY!
You see brothers and sisters, the doors to the Kingdom of God is taken by force... Try the NARROW PATH! Knock on the door! If no one opens, KNOCK EVEN HARDER! Trauma and bad behaviour is NO REASON TO LEAVE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! God bless everyone who took their time to read this.

I am a Protestant Christain and all of them left Christianity for emotional issues. You are supposed to submit to the Church and learn arguements in favor of Christianity by watching Christain apologists.
For example, the last girl that said she left Christianity because she realized that their were other religions and that she was only following Christianity due to her parents, clearly did not have any faith in Christianity nor understood the arguements for Christianity. Other religions such as Islam, Shintosim, Buddhism, Janisim among others have no convincing arguements at all.

In the sense saying every other denomination is not “real Christianity?” Since apparently the only way to heaven is not through Jesus, no, but by being an orthodox Christian since that’s quote “Real Christianity.” (1:19). I left Christianity after studying the Olivet Discourse of the Synoptics, and thought that Jesus must have been a failed prophet because he didn't come back in the years following the destruction of the Temple. There were other reasons that further strengthened my doubts but I will not go to too much detail now.
Years passed, and I tried to live as an agnostic atheist. Although I have good relationships and a job, and I explored some new hobbies, my life felt hollow. I felt like coming to a dead end. I didn't know what to live for.
I started to pray and read the Bible again, and exploring Orthodoxy. I'm still very sceptical about belief in God or the Bible, but I nevertheless have a thirst for holy life and righteousness, and pursuing it has felt refreshing. I don't know what will come out of this, but I will keep an open mind, and start connecting with the local Orthodox community. Please pray for me! ❤☦️

+jukkaahonen6557 Too bad you didn't know partial preterism. Jesus isn't actually talking about the End of the World in the immediate context, but the end of the age, that is, the Epoch of the OT. As is evident from Acts 2, it was deemed that the years prior to 70 AD temple destruction were the last days. This is also seen from Isaiah 2, Micah and etc.
The New Heavens and the New Earth (As the Old passed away in 70 AD, when the Temple was destroyed and Mosaic administration was fulfilled in the Orthodox Church), or the Kingdom of God is actually in progress and is slowly renewing and conquering the world for the world to be renewed in its Edenic state at the end of the age of the NT Epoch.
Jesus draws highly from the OT prophetic terminology and you cannot grasp the olivet discource, unless you know the context.
The Son of Man coming in judgement already happened in 70 AD when he came with the invading roman armies and destroyed Jerusalem and the Second Temple, as all of the covenental curses were fulfilled upon the Jews for rejecting the Messiah. And he sent Angels, or messengers, to gather the gentiles and believers in the bosom of the Church.
This doesn't mean that there's no mirrored fulfillment at the end of the NT epoch, but the immediate context is this.
You can watch Jay dyer about partial preterism, when he talks about the Anti-Christ and also Seraphim Hamilton.

Evangelicals tend to be more conservative than you think, while still having modern practice and christian worldview. Also, the Evangelical Church is just a movement and is quite far from being the majority of Protestantism. Most apostates come out from that church because it doesn't teach enough about doctrines and the importance of Christ and it's sovereignty. But in non-evangelical protestant churches, maybe you'll find people more serious about their faith and live truly for God according to the Gospel.

"[The inhabitants] are of a dark brown, rather reddish color. They have good well-made faces and noses. They go naked, with no sort of covering. They attach no more importance to covering up their private parts or leaving them uncovered than they do to showing their faces. They are very ingenious in that matter.
For all that, one of them gazed at the admiral’s collar and began to point towards the land and then at the collar as if he wished to tell us that there was gold in the country. And he also looked at a silver candlestick and pointed at the land in the same way, and at the candlestick, as if there was silver there, too.
One of them saw the white beads of a rosary. He made a sign to be given them and was very pleased with them, and put them around his neck. Then he took them off and put them round his arm, pointing to the land, and again at the beads and at the captain’s collar, as if he meant they would give gold for them. We took it in this sense, because we preferred to. If, however, he was trying to tell us that he would take the beads and the collar as well, we did not choose to understand him, because we were not going to give it to him.
They seem to be such innocent people that if we could understand their speech and they ours, they would immediately become Christians, seeing that, by all appearances, they do
not understand about any faith . . . May it please God to bring them to a knowledge of it, for truly these people are good and have a fine simplicity. Any stamp we wish may be
easily printed on them, for the Lord has given them good bodies and good faces, like good men. I believe it was not without cause that He brought us here. Therefore, Your Majesty who so greatly wishes to spread the Holy Catholic faith may look for their salvation. Pray God it may be accompanied with few difficulties.
All the coastal country from one point to the other is very flat and very beautiful. As to the jungle, it seemed very large to us seen from the sea; for, look, as we would, we could see nothing but land and woods, and the land seemed very extensive. Till now we have been unable to learn if there is gold or silver or any other kind of metal or iron there; we have seen none. However, the air of the country is very healthful . . . There is a great plenty, an infinitude of waters. The country is so well-favored that if it were rightly cultivated, it would yield everything, because of its waters.
From all that, the best fruit that could be gathered hence would be, it seems to me, the salvation of these people. That should be the chief seed of Your Majesty to scatter here."
This is a small excerpt from the letter; the only thing i could find in English. It doesn't sound "bloody" at all. There is another part when the Portuguese are praying the mass and the indians join without anyone asking them to do so. They would get on their knees and immitate the Europeans in their prayer.

“Someone who didn’t commit any real sins could go to hell, while a murderer could go to heaven if they accepted Jesus” this one highlights the real problem with a lot of people’s ideas about God and sin. They believe that there are certain sins that are worthy of hell, and the rest are not. Namely, the sins they themselves commit, are not.
God hates sin, and all humans are sinners. The difference between the murderer and the supposedly “good” person is that one of them acknowledged their sinful state and reached out for forgiveness. The sin of pride is what makes people believe that they are such a good person that they don’t need salvation; that they can get into heaven on the strength of being a good person.

Hey Kyle. I really do have a deep interest in Orthodoxy and I feel so drawn to it even though I do attend a Baptist Church. We have a fantastic church family here and we provide very good sound doctrine during our pastors sermons. Very conservative. But something has just been drawing me to Orthodoxy for quite some time now but I also feel a little intimated by the majesty and deep rooted theological history of the Orthodox Church. I would like to just inquire on advice about where to start and how to seek out a solid Church. Thank you for everything you do! God bless you brother 🙏🏻

THE MAIN REASON PEOPLE REJECT CHRIST IS BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN WEAKNESSES. IN THE BIBLE A YOUNG MAN REFUSED TO FOLLOW JESUS, BECAUSE HE COULDN'T GIVE OUT HIS WEALTH. HIS WEAKNESS WAS GREEDINESS, BUT FOR SOMEONE ELSE MIGHT BE LUST, PRIDE ETC.

I 100% agree with not chasing a feeling as Christians. However as a musician how do I reconcile the fact that God has given me the gift of music with the voice, but also outside of it. While I love liturgy is there not a place for other Christians to show their worship to God with instruments. Even the psalms speak of using the Cymbals, stringed instruments, and the trumpet. So, if anyone is willing I ask in a place of humility and greater understanding. Thank you

    • @drawingdragon
      @drawingdragon 8 месяцев назад +1

There is nothing inherently sinful with instruments. Like you mentioned, the Bible itself mentions them being used in worship MANY times - but it does set itself apart from the same KIND of music and instruments used to worship, say, Pagan idols.
Instruments are not inherently sinful, but relying wholly on your emotions is - and seeking to make music for no other purpose than to imitate secular-sounding music is also. This is the reason the "drums don't belong in church" argument is so popular even among Protestants; drums themselves are not sinful, they're just instruments, but they are often associated with less savory music, and can definitely have the unintended consequence of covering up the words being sung, which should be the actual focus: worship being given to God along with your fellow brothers in Christ.
Instruments are not inherently sinful just like singing isn't; music is powerful, but it doesn't need instruments to create emotion - a capella is not any more absent of emotion than instrumentals, because the entire point of why we sing is to express powerful emotion. That's a GOOD thing - as long as the emotions we are expressing are true, good, to God's glory, and NOT the thing we are hinging our faith and lifestyle on.
My church regularly uses instruments, especially for solos, mostly piano and organ, but I can 100% guarantee visceral emotion is created by an a capella performance. That isn't bad - it's a reverent and holy moment before God.
