Also important to mention the US greatly aided the Soviets with billions of dollars of supplies mostly in the form of motorized equipment (for transport of soldiers, artillery and other supplies), aircraft which the Soviets also desperately needed after the tremendous losses of aircraft on the Soviets part in the early part of Operation Barbarossa, but also food and clothing. In total the US lent around $130 billion worth of supplies to the malnourished, disorganized, and un-supplied red army. The Soviets of course began to produce in mass quantities tanks, aircraft, and other military equipment later towards late 1942 and 1943, but without the aid of US and UK the Soviet Union’s ability to turn the tide of the war and revitalize their industry would have been uncertain and quite frankly difficult.

Germany didn't have a desire to cull it's expat population rather it wanted them to return. Meanwhile the soviets were engaged in a massive purge of notable White Russian figures and ex-nobility. If you were a Russian expat who _ever_ publicly spoke against the Soviets or a non-Russian who was popular for speaking against communism the Soviet Intelligence service probably had a folder with your name on it and a file reading a potential plan for your "liquidation." There after all was a fear of the Ex-pat community unifying and joining organized resistance in the areas the soviets were ethnically erasing like the Ukraine.

Great video as always. However, there are a few mistakes I feel I should point out. The argument that Hitler as an Austrian "always had a deep resentment against the Serbs" is the antithesis to his actual feelings towards the Austro-Hungarian State, pre-coup Yugoslavia (which you correctly point out was overthrown by English and Soviet powers), and the newly formed Serbian Government following the partition of Yugoslavia. One of Hitler's first experiences with Serbs was of course the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. "Hitler hated Franz Ferdinand (and a large part of the Hapsburg state) for, in his eyes, being insufficiently pro-German and too willing to compromise with the non-German elements in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Hitler, indeed, seems to have seen it as a rather delicious irony that the Archduke was, in the end, killed by a Slav (Serb). He had at first been afraid that a German nationalist killed the Archduke, which although well-deserved in his eyes, would have reflected badly on others like him: "At first I feared that the shots may have been fired by some German-Austrian students who had been aroused to a state of furious indignation by the persistent pro-Slav activities of the Heir to the Habsburg Throne and therefore wished to liberate the German population from this internal enemy. The argument you made about Hitler resenting serbs because he bombed them more than Poles is ridiculous because 1. that isn't true and 2. even if it was, how does it prove Hitler's hatred of Serbs? By that argument Hitler hated Russians, Ukrainians, Belorussians etc. who were more mercilessly fought against than serbs and Poles combined. Martin Bormann was someone who cared only for himself. When Adolf Hitler was told by Bormann that the young girl of a woman he had met was a quarter Jewish, and therefore her mother half Jewish, Hitler was unfazed by this news, and continued to invite her and her mother to the Berghof. Bormann, who by this point was beginning to manipulate Hitler in small but growing ways, was furious with this, and ended up calling the mother and telling her to never contact Hitler again and that there will be consequences if she does. Sadly, neither the little girl nor her mother survived the war. Of course, no one mentions that they died from Britain's bombing raids over Germany and starvation resulting from it and the blockades.
@@LegendofNelda Himmler yes, but Goering you're wrong about. Himmler was trying to remodel himself in an attempt to be seen as "the good guy" to the Allies, whereas Goering was concerned with continuity of government if/when Berlin is cut off, which Bormann miscommunicated as a coup.
@@haydricht6899 It is understandable that Goring wanted clarification when communications could be cut at any moment, and the Battle for Berlin was unlikely to be won, but at the same time it should not come as a surprise that a loyal dog like Bormann would take umbrage to this while AH was still alive and commanding the battle for Berlin. It was an unfortunate incident brought on by late war nerves and I don't think too much should be made of it. Goring too was loyal, but he also had a pragmatic side. Certainly not opportunistic like Speer or delusional like Himmler.
I thought I had known all of this war. So much time in dealing with point by point events without getting information as to what put events in motion. I have never heard of “the focus” but it makes so much sense. Not gunna hear about that on the net flix. I was bewildered when, on the series, they said Dresden was 20,000 casualties max and it was military town, and worse still, their “scholars” said “the idea that the Germans would have the audacity to scrutinize the bombings if Dresden’s is beyond me”. That would not have won Germany the war. The abilities of these men are very often exaggerated because the information everybody gets on these men comes from books they themselves wrote after the war. They wrote about their own experiences, exaggerated their own abilities, and blamed it all on AH because they wanted jobs as advisors to NATO and the new German army.

I am Romanian but I actualy have some family from Bessarabia, from now the Budjak region of Ukraine (from near Chilia/Kilia), and they after the annexation fled across the Danube River into Dobrudja.

It's likely that he was murdered by his medical aid, but it is also possible that he killed himself through the delusion that Hitler was still alive and he was protecting national security secrets. @@latagiacopeland-tyronce9436 The Allies claimed that Hess committed suicide with a lamp cord, but the autopsy performed found that he had been strangled due to a broken bone in his neck that is only broken buy excessive force strait back and not down as in a hanging. Hess was the last and only prisoner left at the facility which German developers were anxious to get. And the GI on duty when Hess was ‘found’ dead, was an African American that allegedly had made threatening statements about Hess. And shorty after his death, the prison was leveled and developed. This is a lot of circumstantial evidence, but does make an honest person conclude that we don’t have the full truth. But saying he was murdered by the GI is a stretch, saying he died under suspicious circumstances is justified.
Hess could not have killed himself, he was too weak physically. If you strangle yourself, when you pass out, your grip will loosen and you can breath again, so you can't kill yourself like that. The marks on his neck were not up-down, like they would be if he hanged himself, but vertical. This means he was strangled, and as you can't strangle yourself, someone else had to do it. There was more, but since it's been so long since I read anything on this I can't remember.

Winning for Germany would have been difficult but not impossible, I participated in many alt history forums and we wargamed lot of scenarios and possibilities for them and we found some interesting results. With two PODs (points of divergence) namely- the discovery of the Matzen and Schoonebeek oil fields for the germans and( Together these fields held over 1.5 Billion barrels of oil)+Liaohe oil field for Japan and with Germany taking a firmer stance with Turkey, Japan and Finland- the result by late 1942 Britain loses Egypt and Middle east and soviets lose Leningrad, Stalingrad and Baku- however if they can't keep the US neutral at least not until 1943 they still lose. In conclusion even when combined the british and the soviets were beatable but when americas joined the war was permanently lost.
I see a lot of slander on Irving being used as a source. I’m not too familiar with his work, but even looking in modern day, it seems many get their careers ruined for speaking against the accepted “narrative.” Has he made claims that are blatantly false with no evidence or something? As to why AH decided to attack, I believe there is one extremely important fact we should consider. He had correctly calculated that 1941 would be the last year before Germany's industrial and military superiority would be eclipsed by that of the Soviet Union, the British Empire and the United States. Even in his final days, he never regretted his decision, because he knew that a conflict with the Soviets, who were preparing to attack anyway (a fact of which he was also convinced) was as inevitable as the Sun rising and setting.

Most people in the party saw him as unstable, and there's a reason why Hermann Goering was appointed as Hitler's direct successor instead of the Deputy Fuhrer. He was a great speaker, but without elections to campaign in, Hess' weaknesses rose to the surface.

I had read 10-12 books on Hitler before I found Irving's book Hitler's war! In those 10-12 books I didn't learn anything that I had not already heard from learning the official story of WW2. David Irving's work is the truth and makes logical sense while the official story is off. Example: Germany was treating minorities in their country like 2nd class citizens so America had to get involved in the war! But 20 years after the war in 1965 the civil rights movement is kicking off? Good luck on your research
Irving’s books were seen as sound History when they were published, due to his insane amount of research, (which the British government seized) it wasn’t until he testified in the trial of Ernst Zundal, and later his lawsuit, which he undertook to clear his name from slander. Turned him into a pariah, there used to be a lot of videos on RUclips, but they have all been removed. Irving’s published work has never been disputed, other then the casualty figures of Dresden. I have read all of Irving’s works, they are brilliant history, and to ignore his contributions because of an concerted effort by the establishment to discredit him, would be letting that propaganda influence you.
@@ZoomerHistorian Oh please. Irving doesn't use any source in particular that any other historian on Nazi Germany doesn't use. You think Irving has access to more sources than normal historians? The opposite couldn't be more true. In fact, Irving has access to less sources as he's banned from numerous archives around the world. Probably explains why he's only released one book in the last 27 years, and he's nearly 20 years behind schedule for his last Churchill book. Would you like to list some of the multitude of sources that Irving has access to that other people don't?
@@andrewcoons8060 Yeah I learnt a couple things from Irving's books too. One that Goebbels was a cuck and two that Hitler lusted over Goebbels’s 4-year-old daughter. Now I'm not saying that those things are true, but that's what he writes in his books.

Also important to mention the US greatly aided the Soviets with billions of dollars of supplies mostly in the form of motorized equipment (for transport of soldiers, artillery and other supplies), aircraft which the Soviets also desperately needed after the tremendous losses of aircraft on the Soviets part in the early part of Operation Barbarossa, but also food and clothing. In total the US lent around $130 billion worth of supplies to the malnourished, disorganized, and un-supplied red army. The Soviets of course began to produce in mass quantities tanks, aircraft, and other military equipment later towards late 1942 and 1943, but without the aid of US and UK the Soviet Union’s ability to turn the tide of the war and revitalize their industry would have been uncertain and quite frankly difficult.
In addition to that, the US gave them tons of food, fuel, and ammo.
I've heard that the US also supplied to equipment to Nazi Germany too.

Often time certain people accused their enemies of doing what they themselves do.
Germany didn't have a desire to cull it's expat population rather it wanted them to return. Meanwhile the soviets were engaged in a massive purge of notable White Russian figures and ex-nobility. If you were a Russian expat who _ever_ publicly spoke against the Soviets or a non-Russian who was popular for speaking against communism the Soviet Intelligence service probably had a folder with your name on it and a file reading a potential plan for your "liquidation." There after all was a fear of the Ex-pat community unifying and joining organized resistance in the areas the soviets were ethnically erasing like the Ukraine.

Great video as always. However, there are a few mistakes I feel I should point out. The argument that Hitler as an Austrian "always had a deep resentment against the Serbs" is the antithesis to his actual feelings towards the Austro-Hungarian State, pre-coup Yugoslavia (which you correctly point out was overthrown by English and Soviet powers), and the newly formed Serbian Government following the partition of Yugoslavia.
One of Hitler's first experiences with Serbs was of course the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. "Hitler hated Franz Ferdinand (and a large part of the Hapsburg state) for, in his eyes, being insufficiently pro-German and too willing to compromise with the non-German elements in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Hitler, indeed, seems to have seen it as a rather delicious irony that the Archduke was, in the end, killed by a Slav (Serb). He had at first been afraid that a German nationalist killed the Archduke, which although well-deserved in his eyes, would have reflected badly on others like him:
"At first I feared that the shots may have been fired by some German-Austrian students who had been aroused to a state of furious indignation by the persistent pro-Slav activities of the Heir to the Habsburg Throne and therefore wished to liberate the German population from this internal enemy. It was quite easy to imagine what the result of such a mistake would have been. In one of Hitler's speeches (I apologize I could not find which one but I have the audio recording of it):
"One State that has increasingly come into the focus of our people since the Great War is Yugoslavia. The respect that German soldiers once felt for this brave people has since deepened and developed into a sincere friendship."
As for the feelings of Serbs then and now, the Serbs that know the truth about the Second World War are eternally grateful to Adolf Hitler for liberating them from the small international clique which through English and Soviet powers dragged us into a war we had no desire to be in. Thank God it only lasted 11 days before Belgrade was liberated. The argument you made about Hitler resenting serbs because he bombed them more than Poles is ridiculous because 1. that isn't true and 2. even if it was, how does it prove Hitler's hatred of Serbs? By that argument Hitler hated Russians, Ukrainians, Belorussians etc. who were more mercilessly fought against than serbs and Poles combined.
I could go on, and about how close we were to Germany post partition from 1941 onwards, but if you ever make a video about the Balkans in WW2 Ill probably comment about that there. Keep doing your amazing work and God bless!

Martin Bormann was someone who cared only for himself. When Adolf Hitler was told by Bormann that the young girl of a woman he had met was a quarter Jewish, and therefore her mother half Jewish, Hitler was unfazed by this news, and continued to invite her and her mother to the Berghof. Bormann, who by this point was beginning to manipulate Hitler in small but growing ways, was furious with this, and ended up calling the mother and telling her to never contact Hitler again and that there will be consequences if she does.
Sadly, neither the little girl nor her mother survived the war. Of course, no one mentions that they died from Britain's bombing raids over Germany and starvation resulting from it and the blockades.

@@LegendofNelda Himmler yes, but Goering you're wrong about. Himmler was trying to remodel himself in an attempt to be seen as "the good guy" to the Allies, whereas Goering was concerned with continuity of government if/when Berlin is cut off, which Bormann miscommunicated as a coup.

@@haydricht6899 It is understandable that Goring wanted clarification when communications could be cut at any moment, and the Battle for Berlin was unlikely to be won, but at the same time it should not come as a surprise that a loyal dog like Bormann would take umbrage to this while AH was still alive and commanding the battle for Berlin. It was an unfortunate incident brought on by late war nerves and I don't think too much should be made of it. Goring too was loyal, but he also had a pragmatic side. Certainly not opportunistic like Speer or delusional like Himmler.

That would not have won Germany the war. The abilities of these men are very often exaggerated because the information everybody gets on these men comes from books they themselves wrote after the war. They wrote about their own experiences, exaggerated their own abilities, and blamed it all on AH because they wanted jobs as advisors to NATO and the new German army.

I am Romanian but I actualy have some family from Bessarabia, from now the Budjak region of Ukraine (from near Chilia/Kilia), and they after the annexation fled across the Danube River into Dobrudja.
I did mention it in the 1940 video when the territory was actually handed over and I mention it later in the video in relation to the military build up, but yes you're right

It's likely that he was murdered by his medical aid, but it is also possible that he killed himself through the delusion that Hitler was still alive and he was protecting national security secrets. Both are possible but I find it likely that he was murdered, due to resentment by his enemies. Hess was a figure of near Christlike character.
Not a histroian but a huge WW2 history buff and fairly familiar with and knowledgeable about the bios of the leading figures including Hess and swear I was going to ask the exact same thing. Thank you for this question. I don't know why it was stated but I don't like it especially when its clearly unfounded and sticks out like a sore thumb. I was actually reading something intensely when I heard this offensive statement and my eyes and head shot up immediately. "Did I just hear that?" But just to make sure I didn't misunderstand I tripled checked. Until otherwise proven with a CREDIBLE SOURCE that states that a Blk man murdered Hess, I will consider this a blatantly offensive and unnecessary statement which has lessened my faith and confidence in his historical content moving forward.

@@latagiacopeland-tyronce9436 The Allies claimed that Hess committed suicide with a lamp cord, but the autopsy performed found that he had been strangled due to a broken bone in his neck that is only broken buy excessive force strait back and not down as in a hanging. Hess was the last and only prisoner left at the facility which German developers were anxious to get. And the GI on duty when Hess was ‘found’ dead, was an African American that allegedly had made threatening statements about Hess. And shorty after his death, the prison was leveled and developed. This is a lot of circumstantial evidence, but does make an honest person conclude that we don’t have the full truth. But saying he was murdered by the GI is a stretch, saying he died under suspicious circumstances is justified.

Hess could not have killed himself, he was too weak physically. If you strangle yourself, when you pass out, your grip will loosen and you can breath again, so you can't kill yourself like that. The marks on his neck were not up-down, like they would be if he hanged himself, but vertical. This means he was strangled, and as you can't strangle yourself, someone else had to do it.

Winning for Germany would have been difficult but not impossible, I participated in many alt history forums and we wargamed lot of scenarios and possibilities for them and we found some interesting results. With two PODs (points of divergence) namely- the discovery of the Matzen and Schoonebeek oil fields for the germans and( Together these fields held over 1.5 Billion barrels of oil)+Liaohe oil field for Japan and with Germany taking a firmer stance with Turkey, Japan and Finland- the result by late 1942 Britain loses Egypt and Middle east and soviets lose Leningrad, Stalingrad and Baku- however if they can't keep the US neutral at least not until 1943 they still lose. In conclusion even when combined the british and the soviets were beatable but when americas joined the war was permanently lost.
I see a lot of slander on Irving being used as a source. I’m not too familiar with his work, but even looking in modern day, it seems many get their careers ruined for speaking against the accepted “narrative.” Has he made claims that are blatantly false with no evidence or something? Even in his final days, he never regretted his decision, because he knew that a conflict with the Soviets, who were preparing to attack anyway (a fact of which he was also convinced) was as inevitable as the Sun rising and setting.

You cannot do a series on the last few years of Hitler’s life without using the man who has multitudes more sources on it than anyone else
I had read 10-12 books on Hitler before I found Irving's book Hitler's war! In those 10-12 books I didn't learn anything that I had not already heard from learning the official story of WW2. David Irving's work is the truth and makes logical sense while the official story is off. Example: Germany was treating minorities in their country like 2nd class citizens so America had to get involved in the war! But 20 years after the war in 1965 the civil rights movement is kicking off? Good luck on your research
Irving’s books were seen as sound History when they were published, due to his insane amount of research, (which the British government seized) it wasn’t until he testified in the trial of Ernst Zundal, and later his lawsuit, which he undertook to clear his name from slander.
Turned him into a pariah, there used to be a lot of videos on RUclips, but they have all been removed. Irving’s published work has never been disputed, other then the casualty figures of Dresden. I have read all of Irving’s works, they are brilliant history, and to ignore his contributions because of an concerted effort by the establishment to discredit him, would be letting that propaganda influence you.

In fact, Irving has access to less sources as he's banned from numerous archives around the world.
