I have both A50 and F30, and this is my honest review if someone still couldn't decide which one you want to buy. PSSA50 Pros - Can be use as a Midi controller - You can adjust the Octave from -04 until 04 - Have 3 motion effects ( To me, they're not important ) - Can record and play a track( in Loop ). - Touch sensitivity Cons - You only can record ONE instrument sound. - Only 42 voices - a little bit complicated to use( You have to hold SHIFT everytime you want to adjust anything. - a little bit expensive. - Very thin Cheap plastic Body Panel. PSS F30 Pros - Many voices. - Not complicated to use( Just straight to the point ) -Many demo/ built in rhythms (songs) - Octave can be adjust from -02 to 02 (61 keys standard keyboard) Cons - Can't be use as Midi controller - No touch sensitivity - Can't record and play track - No Motion effects - Very thin Cheap plastic Body Panel I would recommend for beginners or none beginners that looking for a portable keyboard to use as just for fun. It's better to get PSS F30, because it has many voices. If you want a portable keyboard that can be use as Midi controller PSS A50 is the good option. Anyway, I am a little disappointed with Record and Playback feature from PSS A50. User only can record a Single instrument sound. Note: Please do not put these keyboards in hot room temperature. Otherwise, the body panel will crack easily due to its thin plastic body panel.
Maybe for the others, if there is a USB jack, maybe a computer, power adapter or a portable power bank can power it, but not midi control.or connection.
I wish the A50 had a bit more sounds. Some of the F30 are really nice and not available on the A50. If they A50 had them all it would be such an easier choice!
Hi. Based on my conditions at the moment, will need to practice with headphones on almost constantly. Could you tell me please, based on that, which keyboard will be better for me - PSS A50 or PSS F30 ? Thank you.
I think a keyboard without key sensitivity is not a proper instrument.. You just can not express the feelings without control on the volume of each note.. I think A50 is the clever choice.
If you have a cable that is Headphonejack(3,5mm.) to Tele it should pe just fine or if if you dont have tele choose the correct cable. To plug into your PC its 3,5mm to 3,5mm.
Thank you for wide and good explanation , But i have questions please , wich key board of those you advise for kid between 3 to 5 years old . Thanks in advance .
That A50 could have 61 larger keys, just a little bigger speaker .. multiple record banks and some more synthesizer tricks.. In a proper body with robust buttons and knobs.. Would it cost a fortune? I dont think so.. It is a pain to think.. getting so close to perfect and... just missing.. A50 could have been legendary with a little more effort
A50 is just a smaller version of yamaha keyboards. Why look at the pss lineup if you want more features? You could hook it up to a DAW to maximize the use.
@@jonasbarka btw, i just want to "learn" to play some conventional song (like only with piano and stuff) do you think buying a50 is a good choice? I think im gonna need the touch sensitivity but don't really need the midi controller and stuff :/
The review was the best for me! it really made the coparison i needed to makeup my mind! But your reps over the phone are not up to the level of your video! Great promo helped me allot but really bad customer service over the phone specially with the first girl that answers the phone! You dropping the ball there.
E30 is for kids. F30 is for all ages. E30 has animal sounds and interactive quizzes. F30 has more instruments and music styles. But they both have the same build and chip. Both are good and it all depends on what you want
How do you get the octave shift wrong ?!?!?!?!? You set going up or down a key - THAT'S THE TRANSPOSING FEATURE !!!! Instead you needed to say - IT EXTENDS YOUR RANGE HIGHER OR LOWER !!!!
@@tuberodga Mine has no facility for batteries. Unless Yamaha have updated their build to include batteries. Mine ONLY runs via usb to either a computer or a phone power bank.
@@navypti wow, thanks for the info. Definitely something to check. In the pictures and description is clear. Might be an update as you mention. Could you share to us your purchase date?
@@tuberodga It was purchased by a Muso friend of mine who lives in Alaska. He bought it from Sweetwater in late November 2019 and posted it out to me in Australia. It was never released in Australia so it is one of only a few here.

Another tip I got somewhere else if you want an additional octave for F30 you can adjust the pitch to maximum.
Thank you 🙏
I bought PSS-F30 for fun!
Note that out of the 3 of these. ONLY the pss a50 can connect to a pc via midi. The other 2 models CANNOT. your welcome.
Found it odd he didn't mention that
Thank you SO MUCH.
Literally what I needed to know, thanks
3yrs later, this comment still has better value than the video itself. Thanks!

Canó buy the f30 from you? I can’t seem to get one yet! I want to mount it to my guitar!
Can these be used as controllers
ONLY the pss a50
I appreciate your comparison video.

i own both the A50 and the F30. The f30 is INFINITELY more fun to play even without the touch response.
@@catfishcooler1566Agree, amazing little machine
Can you tell me that weighted keys are good or non weighted keys
If you are a songwriter and love to record your song using a DAW then Yamaha PSS A50 is ideal for you.
Thank you very much
Cool video Alamo Music Center. Could you tell me the width size of the white keys, are they 3/4 of an inch or smaller/bigger?
Is the f30 a good keyboard to learn on.Iam a beginner.
You're great ❤
Is it possible to record the performance into external device audio using the headphone cable into the input of the external device?

PSS-E30 I think

What you're describing sounds like the s300
that would be PSR-E373 or PSR-E463

They make exactly what you're asking for. The A50 is meant for portability, not having a cheap full-sized keyboard.
They have other keyboards with those features
42 Voices or Patches?
Yamaha calls the sound presets "voices" in the specs sheet. I think they all got 32 notes of polyphony.
Which one has touch sensitvity?
A50
I am a newb but whats that means? If i press softly, it will sound quiter?

La pss E30 tiene para transportar el tono o es solamente un tuning lo que posee. Por favor agradeceria una respuesta.
Sir which keyboard is batter Yamaha PSS e30 or f30

The F 30, much more styles and voices, amazing
How durable is this for children?
Thought it was nick batt on the thumbnail lol
same, haha
PSA50 another example of Yamaha broken keyboard release by not including pitch and mod wheel

Shit micro usb broke ..
im just watch for fun, i dont have money=((((
Sounds like Donald Trump reviewing keyboards... 😀

The PSS A50 cannot use batteries! It can only be powered by a phone battery charger via usb, or plugged in to a computer.
Weird, yamaha site says the opposite. And in the pictures we can se the place for batteries, 6xAA
