Lincoln Riley: This Man Is Only (40) Yrs Old, USC Trojan Fans Are Absolutely Horrible 🤢 Piss Poor, USC Fans Need To Chill 😢
What?! You mean 2 years isn't enough time to bring back the Trojans after being run into the ground by the NCAA and the athletic department for a decade? I couldn't agree more.
USC: WE'RE GOING TO BE FINE IN THE LONG TERM PERIOD ✌️, NIL 💰 IS THE NEW PIMP, AND THESE H.S. KIDS ARE PLAYING THE GAME.........
Coordinators don’t play defense. Players do. Georgia/Oklahoma was not a blowout.
Adam and so many USC fans have this all consuming sense of entitlement about USC football. The administrators and coaches for the past 15 years destroyed the program. You are suffering from PTSD. I understand your pain, but get over it already and have some fun.
It would be a huge success to get to the playoffs at all. Lose the entitlement and enjoy the steps forward. USC will be much more exciting and much less frustrating this season.
It depends on how you get to the playoffs. Just get to the play offs.
A couple things. These aren’t kids. They are grown ass men. Second, when it comes to taxes Cali is one of the most brutal on state and property taxes. Someone brought up Texas property taxes but what student athlete is going to be paying taxes on property out there? They aren’t buying homes, they aren’t even buying cars. It’s being provided to them tax and payment free. So no, Cali financially is not the best decision for a lot of these student athletes. When money is the main driver
Thank you Matt. No kids should be allowed to commit when they are still visiting other schools. That nonsense needs to stop. And yes, SC has also pulled kids from other programs after their “commitment” as well. The cycle goes both ways.
Tim irritated the entire time.
Not even one good moment... tough crowd...
Since 2016, ducks have put 40 players into the NFL, USC 33. You think the duck coaching staff doesn't know and use that?
USC had Clay Helton for most of that time and you only got 7 more NFL guys in eight years. You know we fired Clay... right?
@timprangley6907 You? I'm not a duck. My diploma is from USC. My parents were USC alums. My dad was a double sport athlete. I can still acknowledge facts. Recency bias and data matter to these kids. Until USC can prove they develop players, then programs like oregon will continue to point out their success. 2 years of Grinch was a mistake.
SC can only blame themselves for hiring lame coaches and staffs.
@@wpony714 Whether you are a Duck or not, my point stands. I can acknowledge facts too, and I can point out the glaring fact again. Considering that period of time has USC at a top three low point in program history... it's not saying much for the Ducks to average one more draft pick a year.
Totally agree with Matt's take on committing/de-committing etc. It needs a structural fix.
I agreed with how fk up it is how these kids are committed to a school but still visiting other schools. They should visit all the schools they want to visit then make a commitment to a school they want to attend. But then again, these are kids and football players, they're not considered the sharpest tools in the shed!
Absolutely Spot On 💯✌️
Caller thinks cruits are buying property while going to college and paying taxes on that?? 😂
State income tax on 500K is about 50K, so you would need to offer them 10% more to equalize this. But cost of living, such as the ability to buy a house, would also be worse in California.
The athletes wouldnt be typing in the numbers for their taxes, but they DO have advisors who would be looking at this info. Heck, Georgia might have a slidedeck that does the calculations in the recruiting process.
I agree with Adam, you’re missing his point. Balance offense/defense, quit stressing the defense I don’t care who the defensive coach is particularly the players we have
I'm not sure who you are addressing, but I'm pretty sure Matt and I have been extremely consistent in saying that Riley only needs a competent defense to compliment his top offenses.
Should be illegal for anyone else to call first but Gary from Dana Pointe. Gary sets the tone.
I have to admit, he had me worried with his "late" arrival
How many of emojis decommitted?
USC is on the cusp of getting back, but a few fundamental changes are needed in recruiting.
I agree and I also believe those issues are being ironed out. This coaching defensive coaching staff is going to put in work on and off the field. Winning and proof of concept is going to help during the season and building relationships with the coaches and players in CA is also going to pay dividends.
SURELY YOU ...........JEST ? ''A FEW FUNDAMENTAL CHANGES '' THE AD THE PRES. CAROL ''WITHOUT - a - FOLT''. Let alone the BOT !
This academic argument is whack. Football players are not the same as the overall student body. Their admission standards are not the same, their minimum GPA requirement is pathetic, and the top tier players don't stay for 4 years. They also have the benefit of multiple layers of support so they will get up and get to class, turn in their assignments, get tutoring support, etc. A big percent of the kids playing at USC wouldn't be at USC if it wasn't for football. And none of them would pay that kind of tuition to get a sociology degree otherwise. What NFL player, ever, was prevented from their career because they went to a lower-ranking university? There isn't one.
It's not the degree, it's the network... but you knew that, right?
@timprangley6907 I was responding to the caller who thinks that football players have the same academic experience as basic students. They don't. The current student body is less interested in football than they were 20 or even 10 years ago. And lastly, football players across the country have an unofficial fraternity. They help each other connect as much as they depend on their school. With the portal that's going to become even more of an issue.
USC has been losing recruits to Oregon since 2010.....How are you blaming NIL for that lol
Why are you making up a claim that Oregon has been beating them in recruiting since 2010. That is not true at all. Go look at the prospects of each class in California starting in 2010 and let me know how many of the top players went to Oregon and how many went to USC
The NCAA hammered USC and the PAC did nothing... did you forget that little nugget?
This is the one School that should never have any NIL problems. They are in LA for god sakes lmao
Lincoln Riley offense is okay, but they’re not great! The numbers are misleading and he needs to establish a running game.
I don't think they had to line to run as much as he would have liked last year. I think they have that line this year. We will see.
According to 247sports, usc is now 32nd in recruiting. I know it's a marathon and not a sprint, but that's rough.
That's why I like On3's rankings until after the early signing day. USC only has 12 commits and the 247 model rewards/penalizes based on number of recruits (e.g. No. 12 Rutgers with 28 commits - 22 three stars)
@timprangley6907 I think we will be just fine when all said and done. ✌️
Time to ban Adam L. Takes too much time speaking nonsense.
Really? Well, why don't you explain why I'm wrong instead of claiming that I'm speaking "nonsense." Have you seen our record in the last twelve years? Have you seen the terrible coaches, athletic directors, and presidents we have hired? Have you observed the disaster of the last two years? Do you realize we are no longer respected as a football program? Explain why it's nonsense before you claim that I should be banned. I'm looking forward to your argument jackass.
For real lmao
Wish someone kept a track record of the atrocities he’s said on each call
@@MrHBALLER55 All you have to do is look back on how many times he called and multiply it by 5 to get your total.
@@Trojan_in_Hawaii Lol I'd like to know what "atrocities" I've said. Concerns about Riley as a coach? About joining the Big 10? About the difficulty of our schedule (hence, why Riley tried to get out of the LSU game)? About traveling across the country three times a year, and the toll it will take on our players? About Folt's commitment to football? About Cohen's failure to establish a robust NIL? About not being satisfied with only making the playoffs? About us losing two five-star commitments, and consistently losing recruits from California to other schools? About being mediocre for the last twelve years? I'd love to hear why these comments are so atrocious.
@@Trojan_in_Hawaii 😂
The caller brings up a valid concern about the pressure put on the defense by scoring quick. The other team can control the game by running the ball and not putting it in your hands. And just saying “sick em” with onky Bear who barely practices as is on your d line. These are genuine concerns that “sick em” won’t work.
Appreciate your concern, but USC and Riley should not try to play someone else's game, they need to play THEIR game. I agree 100% with the comments about the Colts offense being designed for a high scoring offense. The best defense for Riley is a high-stakes defense that puts pressure on the backfield and forces opponents to beat our secondary. The problem last year with Grinch was that it was a bend-dont-break defense (but it still broke) and that keeps the defense on the field.
It is defensive strategy that needs to be changed, not offensive strategy.
This is a USC call in show right!? Why is Oregon being mentioned so many times??? Also you mention that you “won’t go into the NIL problems” implying that you know but won’t say which I find very hard to believe, what do you gain by withholding that information? You think if you know this “magical number”that the people they are competing against don’t know it too? Don’t gate keep. Also blaming every de commitment or recruiting battle loss to Oregon as NIL related is a complete and total cop out. It is development, relationships, teamwork, and people skills that get these things done. Not just NIL. The best players in the state of California would rather go out of state than stay home and play for SC, the problem is much deeper than money differences. Kids nowadays don’t remember when SC was relevant 20 years ago before they were born, simple as that.
They landed a blue chip RB out of Mater Dei
I'm sorry if that is how it came across. I'm withholding judgement and information from sources until I have their permission to speak in detail, I have all the facts and those facts have been verified. I think that is prudent. I have never professed to know all the details regarding NIL. I can say that the numbers I have heard are encouraging and the changes that need to be made are on the way.
The problem is USC needs to consistently play good ball and it will return to it's lofty position in the eyes of recruits. USC gave Oregon the gift of Clay Helton for six year and they have capitalized (literally).
