To learn more than ever from important non-fiction books, join me on Shortform: shortform.com/justinsung. You’ll get a 5-day free trial and a discounted annual subscription. One of my favorite books on Shortform is Range by David Epstein.

Since this video was sponsored by Shortform, would you be willing to disclose what was agreed upon by you and Shortform as to what content would be put in the video? Did they have significant leverage into what you would and wouldn't say?

I am time-&-again, just surpassingly impressed w/your level of delivered value you impart on this channel. It's invaluable what you do here, Justin. I'm attempting to place some fitting, helpful-expertise in my life (personal & professional). My bandwidth is so taxed, yet, my family and, busn. endeavors... most require it. "I Can Learn"; & "Short Form" (possibly others), I'll be joinin' you through--ASAP. Thanks so much Justin! dbg

      Shortform cheated on me.
I signed for one month. In the middle of the month they tried to charge for the next month, but couldnt do it because i changed my credit card number before (knowing about their bad practices). Then they removed my subscription in the middle of the month. BUT I PAID FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH!!

I started with blinkist then switched to shortform. Agree entirely with this video's synopsis. Blinkist is just sparknotes without any real upper level analysis. Shortform is next level and way better for integrating the main ideas of the text into something you can actually use in your daily life.

Great video! Would be great to see you go through some stem books or chemistry books take a topic and show how you would tackle it. For mathematics this would be a great insight for many STEM students. Great video again look forward to more!

When I want a summary, I simply use google.🤷‍♀️ no offense, but these apps seem like a waste.
I only enjoy audible fiction. But Non fiction is better in text form or in a public speech form. I don't enjoy non-fiction audio. If I really want a short audio for non-fiction, I look for a podcast interview.

Can you make a video on using your method with the fastest way of covering a chapter(in 1 hour) but a lot of time is taken in reading, highlighting and taking notes,
I think that if some methods of your system are used in that method it will take a lot lesser time and lead to better learning,
Examples -Speed Reading and Chunk Mapping .

Thanks for the video Justin and congrats on the sponsorship. It seems like the concept based shortform summaries follow something similar to a linked Zettelkasten note taking system. Do you have any thoughts on Zettelkasten as a note taking system? What about non linear note taking apps like RemNote, Obsidian or Roam? Remnote allows the creation of flashcards as you write notes. Thanks!

Hello Dr. Justin Sung, I'm curious about the process you use to consume the content in a non-fiction book. Though I have an understanding of your book-choosing filter, I wonder whether you use order control, BHS with the Aim-shoot cycle while reading a book? Or would you prefer reading a book from the start to finish?
I greatly appreciate your content, especially your learning course. I'm just interested in how you read nonfiction books, as they are also great source of information :D

You were paid by one of the two platforms to do this review? If so, then your review is worth less than zero. It’s actually biased by design.
Rationalize however you will, but you know or should know better. Not good.

You might not know but Shortform and they is using the free trial to charge people. I decided to try by your suggestion and earlier before the free trial end I wrote them to request to cancel it as I couldn't do through the app they respond no account was active, then after some days charged my card almost 160€, I am now complaining and ask for refund and they are nicely trying to refund me 50% just because they are good to customers. In twitter I have already seem complaints on the same. It is completely unfair for me to pay 80€ to not even use this app and having had request a refund. So, folks... don't fool yourself with this company. This is a dirty way to make business, you can keep people's money because of the term of service but this is completely wrong using the free trial to do so. When a customer advise they don't want to continue, cancel it. Shame on you @shortform! If you delete my comment I will copy and past over an over again, my aim is to protect users.
