I have refractive amblyopia in my left eye. Peripheral vision is quite good. My left eye just cant focus. My vision in the good eye is 6/6. Is there any hope for a 35 year old to improve the refractive amblyopic eye?
I m 20 years of old and i have problem of lazy eye . Could it be recovered plz advice me . I can not even see big letter too with my left eye. I have vision of 4/60 in left eye
Unfortunately not. Think of the vision as being in 2 parts. The first part is getting the image on the back of your eye. This is what glasses do. The second part is how the brain cells to do with vision interpret that image. The critical period for vision development is usually up to 7 or 8 years of age and any treatment usually needs to be done then. If reduced vision is purely down to a difference in glasses prescription between the 2 eyes then sometimes treatment works in the teenage years. Treatment involves blocking off or blurring the good eye to encourage the lazy/amblyopic eye to work and stimulate those brain cells. Unfortunately there is an age limit to when we can influence those cells. This is why it is so important for children to have an eye test yearly from 4 years to pick up any issues so they can be treated in the critical period.
