When he says that failing NHS managers will get the sack what he actually means is that they will get six figure payoffs and a job in the NHS Trust next door.
@@JayDogZA I doubt it, the fact is its just easier to have a mutual agreement to leave rather than sacking them, which also will involve not ruining either sides reputation. Unfortunately happens in private companies as well, just the way it is.
So fed up listening to every time Labour open their mouths it’s someone else’s problem. Get on with the job . NHS should not be free for everyone, not everyone has contributed.
Reverse NHS privatisation. Funding an increasingly private health system is like filling a bucket full of holes. It means more management/consulting/administration/legal/accounting & non clinical costs. It means more fragmentation. Resources bought in smaller batches at higher prices, instead of at the national level. It means, less pro-active preventative care. It means more complex late stage care.
That doesn't work either. There was an expose a few years ago and one example of horrific spending was a buyer who'd bought x thousands of toilet rolls at something like £1.20 a roll, when they could have bought them even at retail price at 30p. When it's not your own money it's easy to sign off on these things. When it's run like a business, it's not.
Finally! Some regulations in place. In the past several years, the amount of times NHS has lost my documents for urgent situations and I have survived by PURE luck is insane.
To may people come here from overseas and use the NHS for free, no one knows how many millions of them do this. Indigenous people are always last on the lists.
The Conservatives should be ashamed of their treatment of the NHS over the last 14 years, everyone knows that the Conservatives voted AGAINST having an NHS in the first place in 1948, but their intention to run it into the ground recently is unforgivable.
"We need ro re-evaluate and realign the relationship between the public and private". From a speech on the NHS. Some tory blowhard? A tory Health Sec? A tory PM? Not even close. 1949, Blackpool Conference after a review of the first year of the NHS. Step forward Nye Bevan! If its good enough for Nye its good enough for me and all those (mostly on the left) losing their minds about Wes S. are as far out of touch with reality as the majority of voters across the pond. Still, ' no use of the private sector....over my dead body' has a delicious irony about it.....even for the humourless.
Blah blah blah What experience has he got of anything Nothing will change until they put non politicians in charge This full of bull The country is full and getting fuller zither NHS can’t cope and never will
We won't get anywhere trying to improve the NHS unless we tackle the underlying problem that it has 75million customers and about 25million payers.
Phew! How nice is it to have people in charge who actually want to make things better. I’m hopeful.
*England's Health Sec, as only has responsibility for England's NHS.
Heard it all before time and time again
Remember "we wont increase taxes on working people".
Putting pressure on managers...is like putting more pressure
Into a busting kettle.
Get a new kettle.
When he says that failing NHS managers will get the sack what he actually means is that they will get six figure payoffs and a job in the NHS Trust next door.
Except he said the exact opposite, didn’t he, particularly in the Q&A?
We shall see.
No. He did address that. I was in the room. Chief executives of failing trusts will be effectively blacklisted

Fake
What a complete waste of space this guy is. He couldn’t pair his socks together, let alone sort the NHS.

Labour said they will privatise all of it.
They are fixing it.

Utter nonsense.

The NHS was a conservative thinktank ideal, ''they voted against it'', they literally created it.....

I hope DEI will be ditched. Promotion and performance should be based on competence only.
Exactly. But first hold managers accountable to performance. Many NHS managers are literally bullying their staffs.
