Yep, that's Forestry crossing in between Abergnolwyn and Nant Gwernol. I might have seen No.8 and 10 on my first visit in 2015 but I can't specifically remember. Could have been 11 or 12 I saw when they were in yellow.
Merseysider belongs to a private collector now - in good hands, looked after. Midlander has an old crank horn as well, but the whistle is easier to use haha.
More like Sir Haydn and Edward Thomas - both were owned by the GWR, and Edward Thomas's whistles are that of a Castle Class if I'm thinking correctly, could be a Hall though. Tom Rolt doesn't have any GWR whistles - It has a Stanier Hooter and another.
@@Terrier55Stepney There's a few interurban cars (long distance trams) over here that sound like that! Air whistles are a lot more fun than just sticking a horn on.

Sir Hayden’s whistle kinda reminds me of Merlin. Is that weird? I’m gonna go with that. Would I be allowed to use some of these in my series for Tal-y-llyn Railway scenes and some Mainland engines too?
SIR HADYN'S WHISTLE IS JUST BEAUTIFUL
It feels cute when tallylyn and dolgoch whistled each other while pulling their train of coaches because it feels like they're talking to each other
You could certainly use those whistles for an alarm clock 😄
Good way to start a morning!
Oooh No I won't my dad would rather rickroll me
I’d use Douglas’ whistle cuz why not?
Dolgoch: cool a RUclipsr is with u- talyllyn: SHUT YOUR MOUTH DOLGOCH! Dolgoch: PISS OFF TALYLLYN! Talyllyn: excuse me?
I'd use Sir Haydn's whistle
You know I heart you right
Mutual my friend. Though I'm sure your Sir Handel much prefers voicing himself verbally.
here's an idea: Skarloey Railway episodes but every time someone whistles, its their RL counterparts whistle.
You should check out my series. 😉
Can you please give us the link so I can see?????
A brilliant video; the whistle is the true voice of a steam locomotive.
Seeing the camera shake by a loud whistle up close doesn’t surprise me. I know that feeling.
I've been exposed to them so much but it jumpscares me every time. XD
Yeah me to.. i get scared when a loud whistle just comes out of nowhere..
I agree with you
Safety valves are worse but whistle are bad to
me to
The sounds of a steam whistle is so whimsical.
Sir Haydn's whistle is the best!
Thank you! I’ve been dying to see a video of the talyllyn engines whistling!

Permission granted, with credit!
Terrier55Stepney thank you so much, I won’t forget to credit you
There isn’t a more relatable feeling for not knowing how loud a whistle or horn is, so you just jump the minute it plays

Awesome. I love it
3:57 Douglas' whistle looks like Alfred's Whistle
you mean sounds like Alfred’s Whistle right...
More like The Hogwarts express

I'd say Douglas' whistle sounded like Douglas the Scottish Twin's.
1:17 it sounds like they're talking to each other😄

Can I use Sir Haydn's whistle for my custom loco in future videos?

2:43 Sir Handle has Fergus Whistle Sound
Nice!
Midlander's tooting almost sounds like Rusty's season 4-6 horn.
do u still have those extra tugs ertl models if u do send them to me
Dolgoch's whistle sounds a lot like Duncan's Whistle
Some Whistles Sounds like Merlins.
Yea
I'm curious why some of the engines have 2 whistles.
Just a two-tone thing. Typically, and most commonly on the GWR, engines had both a warning whistle and a braking whistle.
Awesome video Max!
Edit: can I use these whistles in my series (with giving you credit in the description of course)
Yep! :)
My only question is why do some of these locos have 2 whistles?
It feels so odd that Midlander and Alf have Whistles... Also whatever happened to Merseysider?
Only puny little air whistles though! Merseysider was sold to another railway a year or two ago I believe.
Merseysider belongs to a private collector now - in good hands, looked after.
Midlander has an old crank horn as well, but the whistle is easier to use haha.
@@ExplosiveCookie I wonder why she was sold. That's puzzled me.
@@TheVicarstownSentinel Not powerful enough to cope with demand, simple as.

I got my hsnds on an EP with recordings of these little locos

where's Russell(Fearless Freddie)?
wasnt one of them rebuilt?
Can I use these
1:10 *whileing saying sup*
could I use this for my SKR remakes
If you credit me, yes.
Wish I could go and see the railway.
I kinda like #6's whistle. Almost sound American.
3:55 Somewhere Wales moment
Alf sounds like the London Underground Trains
Why does Douglas sound like an A4?
Its got a Britannia chime whistle, which was based on the A4's. Sir Haydn actually does have an A4 whistle.
This is brilliant! Although, since you’ve included most of the diesel locomotives, where’s Merseysider? @0:10
I've never filmed Merseysider as it was sold off a few years ago.
Can i have permission to use pls
Can I use these in my tales from the rails series?
Not gonna lie, Sir Haydn's whistle kinda sounds like Merlin's.
Both chime whisltes I suppose!
Yep!
@@PRRFanDoesTrainz I remember in another Talyllyn Railway video "It's a hoot", that one comment said that Sir Hayden has some ex-LNER whistle.

Okay, so the engine numbering goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12?! What happened to №8 and №10?

Douglas is the real life version of Duncan, and my name is Douglas
IDK why, but I felt like Douglas' whistle almost sounded like an A4's whistle.
Its actually a Britannia whistle, but Sir Haydn's is an A4! :)
I see, it's just whenever I hear that whistle, I always think about the chimed whistles the A4s had.

Britannia whistle I believe. Sir Haydn has an A4 whistle.
