Eiki's theme. ...The supreme judge has finally brought closure to the flower incident -- with backup from a lovely fairy chorus (thanks, Lori~). This song is the culmination of the PoFV collection, as she judges the sins of the preceding cast. PoFV was the first game I became deeply attached to, largely because of how much fascinating character interpretation was built in to the game through Eiki's lectures.
Despite finding Yukari clearly superior, I really do like the Yama quite a bit. The purity of black and white? Well, I can't stand that philosophy. But... the power of words to change people's actions? There's a theme I can get behind. Her purpose is not merely to send everyone to hell, but to warn them of their transgressions so that they DON'T go to hell when they die.

Remember that Eiki fought Reisen in an attempt to save her soul as Reisen pleaded that she didn't want to go to hell, as well as in an attempt to help Reisen deal with having abandoned her friends to die on the moon.

Yeah, in Buddhist mythology, the Enma/Yama has the true form of someone who's warm and compassionate, and truly wishes to save everyone from damnation. If you apply this to Eiki, you get something better than what the fandom portrays her as.

@@Ponera-Sama She's the yama, in the religion she comes from there is no eternal punishment, as everything is ever-changing. There are Very Long tortures, some that last the lifetime of multiple universes if the crime is severe enough, but there is no eternal punishment.

I think we can all agree Eiki is the best. Not the best character, mind you, but the best person in Touhou, since she's the one person who actively tries to help others and genuinely cares about everyone's well being.

I’ve always imagined the Yama as a very intimidating figure and I loved how much you captured that. I hate how the fandom depicts her as a brat that yells about justice and sentences people for fun.

YES. The bitchiness, the ineffectuality, the _breast envy..._ I blame IOSYS for this. Convictor Yamaxanadu was their most cancerous moment and an utter character assassination of Eiki that so many take as canon.
At least I can take solace in knowing that those people are going straight to hell.

And then there’s Innocent Key, which, aside from their ONE good album (Immoral Sisters ~ Damaged Wings Dyed in Scarlet), is a machine that does three things: laugh, joke, and rape Touhou canon.
THAT´S how I imagine Shikieiki! With a deep adult voice where she has a powerful aura around her! Very well done! Also, Komachi and Shikieiki are my favorite characters (Komachi 1st, Shikieiki 2nd) and my all-time favorite duo! Glad I'm not the only one who pictures Eiki with this voice all the time. It suits a commanding and companionate figure like her extremely well. A person that's powerful, yet only wants to help people be better.

You see, ever since I played PoFV (which is frankly still my favorite Touhou game), Eiki's theme just gave me such a good feeling, both because it sounded powerful, strong and potent, and also because hearing it meant I was at the end of the road, after all of the enemies I've defeated, one more, the most fearsome, remains.
Great job on this one, I loved the judgment part and all of the hype was rewarded!
Congratulations on completing the PoFV themes! You really did a great job capturing the solemn, imposing nature of Eiki. The references to each character at the end feel somewhat nostalgic, too, much like the overall tone of the original song. Well done!

This was surely an unique interpretation of her theme, that last part was just perfect, i felt goosebumps when shiki started to judge all the playable girls

I REALLY have to commend the judgement part at 3:20. Very well written, flowing, and powerful.
I'm still not a huge of Eiki overall, but her theme definitely makes up for my own biases against her.
It works great because Lyrica harmonizes with the song itself instead of just following it, which is pretty rare and impressive.
I wondered if you did this one, but you let the best one for the end!
Eiki might be the only Touhou character who I really want to meet in real life, her lectures can help us to be better person, but no one heard them :'(

You captured Eiki _perfectly_ and I love it! She always gets a bad rep despite only wanting to keep people from going to Hell!
Eiki's theme is probs one of my favorite themes, so I'm honestly really happy you chose to do her theme! You captured her character rather well in my opinion and shown her, overall, more serious and no-nonsense attitude as opposed to certain portrayals of her, while fine with them, doesn't truly showcase who I believe she truly is. That being a powerful, intimidating force of absolute judgment and strength while still doing her best to make those she encounters try to get back on track. Also being a rather tall person, not a shortie loli.

and the shiki impression is so accurate! it's just like what i imagined her to sound like! it's low-pitched and mature, it's very fitting for her. it kinda reminds me of catherine from fire emblem three houses.

Actually Eiki is a very tall girl. Taller than Komachi in the PoVF Reimu ending. So this voice will be perfect in my opinion. But because Lyrica choose this illustration it's probably feels weird for some peoples.

@@Gaudimann if my memory of their official artwork is right, eiki is just an inch or 2 taller then komatchi. because they look close in height but eiki is scaled taller. my assumption is komathci looks normal but is tall, while eiki is skinny and tall.

Edit- first, the original I actually think was Burn not Wilt. Since Lyrica decided to drop by and explain the change in line this was probably alluding to what would befall the sinful soul at the end if they didn't change course.
Second, it has been a day and I am still shocked and honored, but mostly shocked, that you are even back here still even after releasing a new dub more recently. and for some random guy who remembers something he saw back in like, 2016 or whenever.
Whoa, we've got a real insider here...! You're right~ Lyrics get tweaked a lot before the final draft, even up to the last minute.
In this case, while "red" offers an obvious image of danger/deadliness/sinfulness, "violet" ultimately felt like a much more meaningful color to emphasize as symbolic of sin. The iconic flowers associated with the incident in PoFV are specifically "violet cherry blossoms"... and I also wanted the color violet to evoke Yukari, whose name literally means "violet."
Eiki and Yukari are known not to get along very well, which is to be expected between someone who distinctly judges things by a binary versus someone who manipulates and blurs borders. Yukari's lyrics actually included a line that was somewhat meant as a callout to Eiki: *"Just a trick of light paints the world in black and white. What keeps it all from blending into gray?"* -- so I thought Eiki should have something that sounded like a line of warning back at her: *"Tinged in its deep violet stain... When color fades, black or white shall remain."*
Most of my constant tweaking is minor and picky and unimportant, but I think this one was particularly worth it!

Like all of your videos, awesome. Please keep this up, I love how your lyrics can add another layer to the song, like at 3:20. It just sounds like it fits so much, to the character and the song. This pretty good representation of Eiki compared to the usual fan interpretation. Great work on keeping that tone as stern as her character in PoFV is.

here's a fun idea: do the part from 3:20 - 4:09, but extend it and write lyrics for all of the characters in touhou starting from eosd.

Thank you!~ In the final stage of each playable character's route in PoFV, Eiki lectures them about their most sinful behaviors that they need to correct if they want to avoid being sentenced to hell when they die. Those lines are a brief summary of each of their sins, according to her. For example, she warns Sakuya for not being empathetic enough as a human, Marisa for telling too many lies, etc.

YAY!! A LYRICA LIVE SONG FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!! I am sure I don't speak for just myself, but whenever I hear a touhou song that Lyrica has added lyrics to, I try to sing along with those exact same lyrics. I love how she makes the music all the more real to me with her interpretations. Thanks a lot, and keep on moving forward Lyrica!

In a franchise so full of self-interest and antagonism, it's refreshing to have a character like Eiki, whose so benevolent to try and save everyone she can, even the ones she doesn't like.
