Tenshi's theme. ...I think that "heaven" is in the eye of the beholder. For this thrill-seeking angel, the peaceful paradise of heaven is torture, while the exciting battleground of Gensokyo is her heaven on earth.
It's a very straightforward song. However, any questionable puns you hear are probably intentional.

I honestly never thought these themes could be made even better than they already are. But your lyrics and performance... I don't know how to put it, but it feels like these lyrics were there all along, hidden somewhere deep within the track itself until you somehow pulled them out of there. They fit the theme of the song and personality of the character so well it's really hard to believe they were not written along with the song. I don't know how you're doing it, but you're awesome.
This particular one might just be my favorite work of yours, because I have a bit of a soft spot for thrill-seeking characters like Tenshi: engaging in fights just for the sake of fights. Not to save, protect or avenge someone, not out of some duty, not for some personal gain... You just want to fight someone and that's all the reason you need. And you captured the feeling of her embracing that thrill and breaking free of the boredom perfectly, I just can't express how much I'm enjoying this.

Contrary to a lot of people, I actually really like Tenshi, and I like the balance between innocent thrill-seeking and ambiguously not-so-innocent self-discovery you struck in this song. It's like a song about an angel who has just realized that, hey, maybe heaven and all its purity isn't so great after all... but there's a whole world full of exciting and forbidden things to discover down there on the surface, and impurity isn't necessarily a "bad" thing when it comes down to it anyway.
Too be honest it's purely about the fact that a perfect reality is boring and to have unique Ness makes heaven seem dull and boring so when she found earth it kinda became a thing she became obsessed with like a child... She is a bored child being shown something new
I relate to her so much. Like I can’t stand doing nothing but relaxing. I seek thrills and adventures. So if you meet me in real life then one thing you’ll know is that I will leave the group to explore on my own

for one who hadn't catched any of that innuendo the first time (and second and third and etc, had to read the comments and description and listen a few more times until I realized) I must say that these lyrics are ambiguous enough to be taken literally and still bring forth the same message.

Yes! Have been waiting for this one to come on to youtube since I heard it back in spring. It just so perfectly encapsulates what a newcomer to Gensokyo should be feeling, and the general feel of the fantastical, battle-filled world itself.

Do as much footwork pre preparation as possible. go with gear made for the situation. and lots of information. currency is not as valuable as information. the single most palpable currency in gensokyo besides power. having an object like a portable electric generation backpack running solar or something like hydrooxy (i fuckin bet those kappas can make water combustion or mag rotation work in thier sleep) to power a computer loaded purely with media. books of history. languages. Technology. Techniques. stories. recipies. formulas. movies of space. aircraft. music. many many things. heida and kiene would be hungry. phenomenon from outside may attract lots of powerful friends. znd with keine, heida and such onside, the next step is trade with kappas. alone you are risked. but in a heavily equipped group you should be fine. once with those boys and girls friendly, learn magic, danmaku, and setup a post to repair and improve your gear. stay clear of powerhouses! the moment you breach that barrier if not intended to come in, 90 percent of gensokyos powerful people will come looking for public enemy number one. cayter your group to multiple needs and skills and train em like specops. if your group gets strong enough, explore. if not by now, then soon youll meet yukari or someone. then youll be either wanting a fast exit, a quick death or to befriend stronger beings. And dont attemp to, appear to or think of upsetting the balance. ive kinda figure out the instant switches from friendly or loving to murderous or traitourous can happen even without real evidence of wrongdoing or knowing what you aree doing wrong. my damn cat is traing to nuzzle my phone as i write this. excuse typos.
I'd just try to peacefully exist. Why try to rule or fight everyone when you could just go around making friends and talking to them. Far more approachable than going in guns blazing/sword slashing, and with a potentially longer life span.
I mean if your sent to gensokyo that means one thing. Your on the Youkai's dinner plan

I hear metallic sounds and some of the metallic danmaku dound like coins so I think it's likely Komachi.

This song is awesome! It's so compelling, and sends my emotions flying each time I listen to it. It's the same feeling I get when things heat up in a Touhou game, when the danmaku gets crazy yet you feel happy, and it is like the game has not really started until right now. It must be that same sensation of excitement that you would feel when exposed to a world of magic and adventure for the first time. You just give in to the passionate freedom and go wild.
I like the personal emotion you give to the song, especially that "so wonderful" laugh between lines. The lyrics blend well with the tone of the music. This is definitely one of my favorites.
This is wonderful! To be honest, Tenshi wasn't ever one of my favorites in the series. But you do such a good job showing the essence of these characters through their themes and your writing. Even down to the little chuckle of glee in the background of the chorus.
And now I feel like I understand Tenshi a little more from it. She's a fighter at heart, and to her, it's all a game. A chance to see the world for what it is, beyond her pristine paradise. Her heaven on earth indeed.
The "Bhavaagra as Seen Through a Child's Mind" actually inspired me to write a version in my language for it. And yeah, I love your woks, keep it up.

actually I think of Ten shi as more of a child than masochist....she was simply so bored and unhappy with her life, that she was willing to even kill herself in an enemy land as long as she could feel it was worth it.

According to ZUN, Tenshi is innocent at heart. It's just that getting into Heaven at a very young age without having the self-discipline, maturity and/or virtues that would normally get a person into Heaven spoiled her rotten... Ergo, he basically deconstructed the whole concept of children getting a free pass into Heaven just because they're "innocent" by bringing attention to the question "how would a child turn out if it was subjected to the complete lack of character building and develpment a paradise of instant gratifications and bliss would enforce?"
GrahamChapman well, actually celestial realm in Shinto isn't exactly catholic heaven,celestials aren't the same as catholic angels. But more like ancient gods,as to Tenshi I see her as a child that got robbed of her own childhood, due to becoming an goddess....it's kinda obvious she's not an evil person, and that she simply wanted someone to reach out too....Interestingly I kinda pitch both her and Yukari,in that Yukari acts like a sorta motherly figure for her...rather then being her enemy....also I don't think the Celestials live in a paradise world, but are more like feudal nobility, they do perform certain tasks and have responsibilities, which might be one reason,Tenshi dislikes being a Celestial....Theire also at war with the Youkai, I remember Zun mentioning that all of the races, Youkai,Celestials and Lunarian were remnants of an advanced human civilization. So, you might consider all of them as originating from Humans.

Yo Lyrica, what's your opinion on the Len'en games and their music?
:D Ahh... I happen to be a huge fan of androgynous character design, actually for similar reasons that I'm a huge fan of Touhou's metaphorical concept of borderlines and boundaries. So when I heard that there was Touhou-like game with a fully androgynous cast, I absolutely flipped. I really rarely branch out into fangames, but I did attempt playing these... Sadly, the games would crash on me before I could finish, and I doubt I could finish them anyway because they're freaking HARD. However, from what I saw of them, they're fantastic and I love the way they manage to capture a similarly amazing yet style of danmaku, character concepts, AND YES MUSIC. IT'S VERY GOOD. Unfortunately... I-I assume you ask as a precursor to suggesting me covering some Len'en music. That might be a nice idea, but I just have way too many plans in progress to take up something else, sorry. ;v;;

The first time I listened to this, I liked it but was offput by the sound effects, but now? This song has been repeatedly getting stuck in my head. I've listened to this so many times, I might have a problem.
Tenshi is a closet masochist? And here I thought she was more like Goku, just looking for a good, clean fight and asking the opponent to try their hardest.
S- She is! Please don't let this corrupt your opinion! I did include some wordplay in here to poke fun at the old fandom meme that she is a masochist, a joke which grew unfunny when people began repeating it for its own sake without even acknowledging why it started. I intended this to be a connective reminder of the canon that it was exaggerated from: that all-out thrill-seeking personality. Regardless, it's still not ideal to legitimately characterize her like that in a sexual way, especially after later games (like AoCF) where she comes across as extra childish.
