Hi Francesca, I have the Advent Calendar yarn that you suggested and I would love if you could write the pattern that you used for your blanket, it so beautiful.
Merry Christmas Francesca. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season, and I look forward to seeing you next year. I also want to thank you for the lovely shawl pattern, I think it would be a beautiful prayer shawl for someone in the need of a bit of comfort.
I happened upon your video by happy accident. My grandparents were immigrants from Italy. They are from the northern region. I really want to travel to that region to see where they lived and perhaps meet relatives. I love seeing the patterns that you are knitting. The sweetshop blanket is fantastic! I typically crochet blankets, but this one looks worth the time. I look forward to watching your previous videos. Ciao! Happy New Year from Texas.
I always go down the needle size in the split hem so that the hem doesn't flare out. I think my ribbing looks nicer in smaller needles and it loosens always after blocking 😊 Lovely Stockholm sweater, that collar is just perfect!
I do wish you a very pleasant holiday season. I’m like you, I enjoy knitting without thought. One reason I love Purl SoHo’s 1/2 and 1/2 wrap triangle shawl-miles of garter stitching. I’m not a big fan of superwash wool, though I know there are times for it, like knitting for children. But I loved the colors of Snail yarns advent. Happy knitting.
Francesca, I'm new to your channel, and I feel like I've found a kindred spirit in knitting! My favourite type of knitting is just simple, straightforward knitting! I'll do patterns from time to time, but garter stitch is my happy place :)
Thank you for another lovely podcast! And congratulations for finishing the pattern for the Italian Winter shawl! I never seem to be able to finish a knitting pattern (crochet ones yes though :lol). I should say not to go down with needle size for a split hem, it will pull in for sure: Usually I do one of these options: increase one stitch left and right, or even also double both second and third stitches. Or, if, like in your sweater, I hold yarn double, I triple it for the bottom blend. Hope this might help in your case too! Buon Natale a te e la Tua famiglia!
Hello from Canada! I’m an Italian Canadian and so happy to have found you! I’m learning to knit, but I crochet so I’m not totally new to the community. Your o sitting is beautiful!
I miss your podcast Francesca!! Thanks for another fun episode. Happy New Year! I wish for you and your family an abundance of health, happiness and Buena Fortuna!!
Yay! I feel seen by a fellow early-calendar-opener 🎉 I truly couldn’t resist and in the end there isn’t really an “advent police” that could issue me a fine so I went with it 😂 Thank you for trying out my patterns, much appreciated! Also, “meditative and relaxing” sounds better than “mindless” which is what I always say 😂
Thanks so much for the shawl pattern, it looks so cosy! The advent blanket is just so pretty, I love the way the colours blend into each other. Merry Christmas!
You are such a joy. My heart smiles and I get a chuckle every time I watch your podcasts. I can't wait to start the Italian Winter Shawl. I am just finishing the Italian Summer Scarf, an loving it. I'm going to order the Drops Air in the Pearl Gray because I love how yours looks. I am doing the Summer Scarf in Holst Supersoft, Venetian. Your Stockholm Sweater looks so soft, the fit is really nice. I always seem to get a good fit with Petite Knit patterns. I like what you did with your Advent yarn, it really shows off the beauty of the yarn. I will definitely order one of her Advent Calendars next year. Your Sweet Shop Blanket reminds me of a sweet shop. I like the fun colors and how you put them together. Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy holiday season.
Oh my, this messaged warmed my heart immensely ❤️ Thank you for your lovely words. I truly hope your holiday season will be relaxing and filled with good things 🎄
Love the podcast! I would base the choice of needle size for your split hem ribbing based on how your ribbing looks. My ribbing looks neater on a smaller needle. I can usually use the same needle size if I do a half-twisted rib (twist the knits but don’t twist the purls). If you go down two sizes I’d increase the stitch count by 10% before beginning the ribbing. Happy Holidays and enjoy your family time
Yay🎉! Always so good to see you❤ I love your easy garter stitch patterns they are right up my alley. Thank you for always doing what you want with your knitting, like opening your entire advent 😂 or not doing a sewn bind off. Have a beautiful Christmas 🎄
The neckline on your Stockholm sweater is gorgeous! I wouldn't insert at elastic thread now - you can always do that later if needed. I LOVE split hems and would definitely NOT go down a needle size. (I was just watching a knitting vlogger talk about this and that is her advice, but I can't remember who it was!) Also, your command of English is very impressive!!
Beautiful podcast! I love the SHAWL BLANKETS! The sweater you are wearing is lovely what is the pattern pLeasE! The dreamy Stockholm sweater is Amazing! Happy Holidays!
Thank you! - but also sorry I forgot to mention the pattern for the sweater I’m wearing 🙈 That’s a No Frills Sweater by PetiteKnit in Drops Lima (Pearl Gray color!). The only modification I made was to do half-twisted rib (twisting the knits but not the purls) for the ribbing. This is my Ravelry project page: www.ravelry.com/projects/anitalianknitter/no-frills-sweater-4 Happy Holidays to you! 🎄
Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to you too Francesca! I did buy myself yarn for Christmas 🤣🎅🎅🎅🎅. I'm still on the fence about yarn advent calendars. Most seem to be meant for scrappy projects that I don't like. I'd rather spend the money on full skeins in colours that I picked myself.
That’s fair! This was the first time I bought one and I must say it’s quite fun to open and knit up, but I’m sure I would get much more use out of the finished piece much more if it was in a more neutral color for example 😅
Hello! I would love it if you wrote up the advent calendar 'pattern"- I think it would be a great scarf (in a neutral colour for me). Merry Christmas to you. I love the whole Italian scarf series- they are perfect projects- easy to work on and stylish to wear!
Whoops! I forgot to mention but my advent calendar was 24 x 10g fingering-weight minis. The blanket I made is with the minis held single, at a quite open gauge, which makes the blanket quite airy.
Hi Francesca, I have the Advent Calendar yarn that you suggested and I would love if you could write the pattern that you used for your blanket, it so beautiful.
brava Francesca! a wonderful collection of accessories, love the season by season idea 🌷
I LOVE the blanket you knitted using your minis and would really appreciate it if you wrote it up. I have so many minis. Thanks!!!
Merry Christmas Francesca. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season, and I look forward to seeing you next year. I also want to thank you for the lovely shawl pattern, I think it would be a beautiful prayer shawl for someone in the need of a bit of comfort.
Have a lovely holiday with your family and friends.

Thank you so much for your patterns! A written pattern for your lap blanket would be great. Love your podcast.

I'm so glad I found your channel! I hope you had the most peaceful holidays and New Year. Your shawl is amazing! Happy New Year! Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Thank U for the new pattern. I love it. 😍😍😍😍

Super, beautiful Liebe Grüße aus Berlin Ewa. Frohe Weihnachten 🎄🎄🎄🎄🌲🌲👍👌👏
I would keep the split hem this way. I always go down 2 needles sizes too, but with blocking the frantic relaxes and the split hem looks really nice
Have a wonderful Christmas and may these next few weeks and the New Year be filled with love, peace and laughter.❤
This are such a wonderful wishes! Thank you so much and happy holidays to you 🎄

Omg, that advent yarn transition is amazing. I'm also planning to knit a blanket from my first ever yarn advent calendar.
Your podcasts are so enjoyable- thank you for sharing your world with us. May the New Year be kind to you and your loved ones

All the best in 2024 Francesca! Buon Natale.
Love your colorwheel blanket
For your split hem: you could go down needlesizes as you usually do - but increase maybe 5 to 10 % of stitches
The shawl turned out very beautiful.

I LOVE your colour wheel blanket! ❤ You've inspired me to try colours other than black and grey! Haha! Have a wonderful Christmas! xx
Yay! Once in a while colors are good! (Not all the times though 😂)
Francesca, have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. Love your Stockholm Sweater. It looks gorgeous on you. Love the neckline on it.
Merry Christmas Francesca! All the best for 2024. Enjoying your knits and podcasts.

YASSS!! 😂 You get me! Have an awesome holiday season yourself ❤️
Thanks for all your patterns, and ideas for cozy blankets! I would use same needle size you used for the body, to do the split hem! Thanks!🦋
I wish you all the best for the upcoming year and for your husband , daughter and kitty🎉🎉🎉

Were those full skeins of yarn in your advant calendar? Seems like a lot for your blanket. So pretty
Happy Christmas & Prosperous New Year! Thank you for the entertainment, I love watching your videos 🎄❄️🎄
I love the triangular shapes blanket behind you. Where is it found?

This is so lovely to hear! Thank you 🙏❤️
What sweater pattern are you wearing?
Is your blanket for 10 grams mini’s with single strand of yarn? Or did you have an advent with 20 grams minis’s?
Whoops! I forgot to mention but my advent calendar was 24 x 10g minis. I didn’t buy the 20g one because it was too expensive 😂😂
Whoops! I forgot to mention but my advent calendar was 24 x 10g fingering-weight minis. The blanket I made is with the minis held single, at a quite open gauge, which makes the blanket quite airy.
I thought so, I saw the price on the internet for the 20 grams mini’s! Would have been a veeeery expensive lap blanket 😂
