Not only do they hv a fit & finish like no one else but the sound is also like no one else. But they need to be driven by the right amp. Once that is done right, sit back, relax & be drawn into the music like no other spk can do.
As a teenager, I was allowed and forced to earn money and learned the technician. I worked in various studios and behind the scenes. That's when the Bower & Wilkins virus hit me. Somehow I am not recovered from it. I still hope it is not serious. Further, I hope for an 804 D4 Signature or an 803 D4 Signature. These speakers especially in blue are so damn seductive.
Thanks for a most balanced and informative review, for some reason here in the U.K., there’s no love for B&W and SME, every time these brands are mentioned, the haters come out, for me these two companies epitomise the “Best of British” brands and my endgame hifi journey.
I have a lowly 702 s3 and can’t even imagine something even better than that. Bowers are an acquired taste since they are bright and revealing so if audio quality is crappy you will know right away but if the quality of audio is great and you have the right amp it should feel like the singer, piano or guitar is right in front of you. Bowers are like nothing else. Feed them decent power and good audio quality and they will reward you immensely. It’s a money pit essentially 😀
In your video description you said, regarding drivers, that the 801 drivers were upgraded and that the (SAME IMPROVEMENTS) were made to the 805 signatures regarding drivers! @@AudioAdvice Can you confirm this to be CORRECT about the 805 signatures drivers? My 706s suck. The 800 series would be about the only B&W speakers that are any good. Except for the Nautilus. There is a demo on YT of the Nautilus and it sounds amazing!. I bit better than my 706s. 😅
I might be wrong about this, but why are there not a protection of some sort in front of the speaker, some kind of net, fabric or nylon or just something. The loud speakers are expensive! Dust could be catastrophic!
It’s expected that you would say that your salesman and a sales company I have the 805 D4, and there is no way that I can see justification in the differences northern price even if with a listen, it would have to be such a substantial upgrade for the additional cost
They are at a premium, if you already have 805d4, its probably not worth considering. And there are more differences on the 801's, they bowled us over. We appreciate you watching
Not according to their customer service. When I was in the market for their 702 signatures their response was they do not offer book matches veneers. It would make sense that they do for something in the $50k range.
😊 B&W crossover downgrade even further again 801 signature model.😅 From Silver/gold downgraded further again to Alum Cap 801 signature model.😅 Making buyer very very Angry nowaday.
I got some 706s as reference for my speaker building hobby. They do help with levels but I don't like my 706s. They sound a bit "foofy". And my made speakers absolutely flog them (even if the 706s did help). I just don't 100% copy the sound and give it my own personal sound (just a little bit). Mine aren't so "foofy". 😅
😂Stop cutting cost again on your mid range Crossover ok B&W. Customer knows it. mid range Sound is very Rough. U making customer very very Pissed off again😅
@@AudioAdvice I know the company has been doing this for years I think it's ugly though… Plus like I said it could be damaged easily I think speakers belong inside the cabinet not outside
Those are drop dead GORGEOUS!
Thanks! Yes they are!
Hearing the original Nautilus 801s are the speakers that got me into the hobby. I've always loved Bowers and Wilkins 800 series for their clarity.
Thanks for sharing Marty.
These may be my favorite speaker finishes of all time; absolutely gorgeous!!
They are beautiful
That blue color is simply gorgeous! I'm sure the sound matches as well!

THANK YOU !!!....thanks to you I ordered the 805 Sigs!!!
We are happy to help and hope you purchased them from Audio Advice to support our small business.
The finishes are beautiful. Are grills included for the woofers?
We love the finishes, yes the midrange and woofers have grills in the box.

I came across a nearly mint pair of CDM 1NT’s …any thoughts on these classic stand mount speakers?
Those were good in their day and appear to be under $600 or so on the used market, which seems like a good deal.
Thanks …I’ll take a look /listen later 👍
The blue looks bad ass, but I need red !!!
Thanks!
hard question which one is better perlisten s7t or Bowers & Wilkins 800 Series
The 801 Signatures are really good!

Send an email to web@audioadvice.com. We got permission to send you the page that refers to the 805 woofer.

@@AudioAdvice I would say if you had a set of good subwoofers, you can achieve the low end for proper calibration and placement
@@AudioAdviceThanks for the honest assessment. It was clear in your review that the 801s were the big upgrade, not the 805s.
If I only had money.
Glad you liked them
The only series still made in the UK. It would be nice if they could more of their people back to work, instead of the Chinese.
True
So the 805 are just blue with some small differences in the filter. …..… a little bit off shame, isn’t it ? For the price… ok the 801 are different
The 805 has the a new midrange/bass driver as well, but there are more changes in the 801, yes. Thanks for watching
Are you sure about this?@@AudioAdvice
It looks like they copied KEF R3 Meta Blue special edition. Used to own the BW D2 sold them all and bought Genelec!

ugly...easy to damage...tweeter laying on top 😂
It actually has a very sturdy protective grill they have perfected over the decades. Without it yes, but with it, they are fine

I know the company has been doing this for years I think it's ugly though… Plus like I said it could be damaged easily I think speakers belong inside the cabinet not outside
You either like them or not, but the design does really improve the openness since the tweeter is not sitting on the front of a cabinet.
The good news is that they're only $25,000 each. So they'll probably only sell 2 sets. 😂
