    Such a good recommendation, as a handyman it’s way more cost effective to convert the wood router when needed for drywall. Thanks for the tip Memo!

      I was looking at drywall routers today, trying to justify the cost. Huge duh moment! I already have a nice wood router!

    I'm used to larger, corded routers ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.

    That is the same kit we used to buy for our corded routers many years ago. We used to use 1/4 HP Craftsman routers for drywall. They were the size of a small coffee can. It was like Heaven when the RotoZips came out.
    I love your attitude brother. Drywall/construction ain't a bad life when you have the right attitude.
    God bless you and yours.

    I got one but a Milwaukee. Same tip . Because of your video I got them , I was trying to find a faster way to cut Sheetrock. So I try your way ,It locks up to much dust n leaves to much dust as well. U have to stay with it or it won’t cut straight. I mean it cuts just just the dust dumps down. Is nice that mine comes with a dust collector. But those holes gets in the way .

  • @steveswartzlander9883
    @steveswartzlander9883 3 года назад +1

    I was just looking for a 1/8" bit with a 1/4" shank, because I hate having to change the collet in addition to the bit when switching between doors and outlets, but it doesn't seem to exist since I guess people doing production work dedicate different tools to different applications, I'm too cheap for that.

    • @csdrywallhawaii
      @csdrywallhawaii  3 года назад +2

      Could be the adapter and just remove the adapter with bit attached when you swaping it out.

    love your passion for drywall. I'm training to be an electrician and am wondering if this is a better option than the multitool for some applications. Do you this this is good for dry lining backboxes that you add after cutting the plasterboard? Basically do these routers need some sort of guide or can you hand sufficiently control the straightness of the cuts? Thank you in advance.

    • @csdrywallhawaii
      @csdrywallhawaii  Год назад

      There's a bit of a learning curve when you free hand the cuts but you can go pretty straight a milti tool has a bit more precession and other applications that would probably be more useful to you.

      We hang and tape all our homes so its about ten months for us the window and door router is usually the first to go. By then it's paid for its self so buying new ones isn't a problem. I buy in bulk off of ebay saves me about 40 bucks per unit. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
