U guys primarily use it as ur everyday language which is why u may think that others imitate u lot when they start speaking it. The language was mainly adopted as a use by people living in coastal slave trading bases like Elmina and Cape Coast Castle found in Ghana and others in Sierra Leone and Gambia. So, in all it’s just a language they themselves have created and had for centuries
