So true! No one will care or judge your languages and if they do, well, they are just unhappy people who are jealous and have to point out your so called "mistakes" in order to feel better about themselves. I learned that the hard way lmao.
I think You are giving us the essence of learning other languages, which is obvious but only a few people try doing it, that is, just do it or just speaking it. I'm learning japanese but I only learned how to read and grammar things, which trap me to stay in the elementary level though it's been three years in my learning it. And repetition is the Golden Key to the every learning. Thank you for reminding me the best way to the journey of the learning anything~
I've been learning Korean for about two years now (more passively than having a set study schedule or monthly goals or things like that) and I'm at about B1 or B2. I love watching videos like this because it keeps me motivated and reminds me of why I started in the first place and how far I've come. I love what you said: You can either win or learn.
Thanks for the tips! Most people are not critical or judge too much, unless they themselves do it to themselves … i like practicing with Korean grandmas, they are the last to judge and i feel so much more relaxed
Вы так мило по-русски говорите! 😊Удачи вам с изучением русского! I learned English all by myself and now it's been 8 months since I started learning Korean. It's not the easiest language but my love for BTS and Korean culture in general keeps me going 😅
I've been married to a Korean for 34 years, was stationed in Korea for 3 years in the USAF (a long time ago), and am around Koreans all the time, but most speak only english to me, even though I ask them to speak Korean slowly to me. I can read and write it pretty well, and know many words ans small phrases, but just cannot seem to be able to speak conversationally. Maybe I'm too old (56 years old) to really learn? I work full time and literally do not have the time to study the way younger people do. Not sure how to really learn to speak Korean well.
Try the hinative practice with strangers they'll be more understanding of how you're learning and want to practice. Korean people too tend to want to practice their English with you maybe that's why they don't use korean
Hello! I am 48 and also work full time. You have the time - you just do not want to make the time. I am sorry but I do not believe that you cannot find 30-60 minutes a day to do this. You *literally* have the time. You are married to a Korean. Gee, I wonder who could speak Korean with you? To give my bona fides, I studied Japanese at university for several years (so I already had a good base) before living in Japan for several years. I have been married to a Japanese for 23 years. I don't know why you didn't learn your wife's native language decades ago.
Took me about 2.5 years to get fluent, or at least pretty advanced. I never lived in Korea but I have a lot of immersement through other means and a really good 어휘력 and 기억력 lol speaking and listening as much as possible is key!
Another amazing video!❤ I’m learning Korean right now and these tips really are useful!🫶 you and you’re sister are so funny and I’m glad you included her as well to share some tips! 😊
literally anything. If you can't think of a topic walk around where you live and look at things to talk about. Or you can watch people who speak your targeted language do anything on youtube and as you watch make comments and after watching a video you could try summarizing what you saw in the video. You could also do this with your native language, but for me I find that watching videos where someone is speaking Korean allows me to think and make comments out loud to myself in Korean.
Does it make sense that just by doing Duolingo lessons and watching a lot of Korean dramas, I've intuitively learned some Korean? Today, I took an online test to check my level, but I never expected to score at B1 ....I also took the TTMIK test, and apparently, I'm on level 4 😮 Still, I consider my level to be waay lower, but it made me realise that studying Korean more actively could be worthwhile 😊 I love the video♡
makes total sense ofc! if you hear korean everyday then you learn it 😇 so happy you got good! as I said in the video it depends how you learn the best and do you learn to understand or to speak ☺️ have an amazing day!!🎈🎈
Duolingo is really good for learning hangeul in the section part but for the rest hell nooo 💀 for 10 chapters you will continue pronouncing city names but just with korean prononciation 💀 instead Locsen is free and you”ll get the basic, or Drops with the 5 minutes free per days
Helpful tip regarding English grammar: it's not "me and my sister" it's "my sister and I" :) It's easy to remember if you just take away "my sister" ... you would not say "how me became fluent" you would say "how I became fluent" Hope that helps ;)
I was hoping to hear you guys conversing in Korean :) We have a podcast where we hope to interview other Korean learners and speak with them in Korean. Maybe we can collaborate one day! Our channel is called GLEx2020 podcast
Hey hey hey, sorry I've been a non pain in the ass recently but my sister visited me here in Vietnam for a couple of weeks so I have been traveling with her. She is back in England now but wants to visit Korea next time she's in the neighbourhood.
I can’t believe I’ve never heard anyone say you can only win or learn. 😮 That is such a nice way of looking at it.
I looove looking it that way! makes everything positive kind of ☺️☺️☺️ have an amazing day
