not sure how I missed this one. I guess I was more fixated on "fretless lessons" since I had ...well- no frets. I fretted one of my fretless cgb's (total hack job) and am now playing catch up. *most excellent tuneage" Thanks for being out there for us.
Yesterday it was J.J. Cale, today it's Pink Floyd. These tutorials only get better and better. Your series of video tutorials showcase how fantastic sounding and versatile this simple little instrument really is. This, along with your teaching style, makes learning a delight. I hope more people see these videos and discover for themselves, the amazing 3-string CBG . Thanks Mark!
Hey Uncle Mark! Just got Vol 2, and am developing a new appreciation for Pink Floyd. Comfortably Numb pointed me back to this item from Vol 1. Used to be "meh" (partly due to college dorm-mates playing Dark Side of the Moon turned up to 11, at 3 am). But really starting to dig it - very playable (these two, anyway); a bit of movement from classic/Delta/Chicago blues and early r&r. Thanks!
Ok, I absolutely Love This Lesson! I am a builder and not a player but this lesson has my fingers sore from working on that killer intro and several of the sliding parts on the D string. After 2 days on this video I am getting closer to feeling like I can play. Thanks Uncle Mark - You really are a Wizard! Now if I can get the lyrics and chords to match up I'll be on to something. :-)
Fantastic. Just found your channel recently, almost gave up on my three string guitar. But now I’ve got new hope, that maybe I could play it because of your lessons. Thanks for posting.
Brian - yes, it is! I learned on Justin Johnson's lesson, but really like this one too. Uncle Mark's lessons are great! And such variety! How's the playing going for you? Peace, brother!
I think Justin Johnson is one of the best guitarists out there 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 strings, whatever. However, I think you have the best set of videos for beginners and intermediate players on RUclips at the moment.
