  • cold starting my alfa 156. it is 2001, and has the 2.0 16v dohc twinspark.
    it stood overnight and the engine was cold. battery was not charged.

    Nice! Keep it running! I have a 156 Sportwagon 1.8 TS from 2004. Just check the engine oil regularly and go easy on it when the engine is cold and it will still run for a long time ...

    Your variator is good man, try to keep it that way, use 5w40 in winter

      Well sometimes it sounds like diesel when starting. Yea, 10w-40 is a bit thick for cold weather

      @@fiatmies3852 It's easier and cheaper to replace variator than dual mass flywheel 😄 Enjoy in your Alfa, cheers

    270000km! For a 2.0l t.spark is very old, il have one and e brakedown in 210000km(cramshaft)

      Yes, the engine runs good and doesn't feel tired at all. The camshaft variator is on it's way out, (sometimes sounds like a diesel when starting). And some oil disappears, but it isn't a new car :D

      Now there is eurol turbosyn 10w-40 semi syn. In the engine. But i think it would be better to use 5w-40 or something that wouldnt be as stiff in the winter.
