1. Rc1 Nb5 2.Rc6 Rxc6 3. dxc6+ Ke7 4.axb5
When I look at this position two kandidate-moves spring to my mind. 1. Bc4 and 1. Rc1
I don´t like 1. Bc4 allthough it breaks off the communication between Black´s rook and knight. Black can reply with 1. ...Ne4 and now threatens a knight-check on c5 and positionally it looks to me like the black knight is better than the white bishop.
Therefore I think 1. Rc1! is a better move. Let me demonstrate some variations I´ve seen:
1. Rc1! Nxd5 loses for Black because of two strong White replies:
2. Bxd5+ King-move (because it´s forced) 3. Rxc7 and White is up a ton of material
2. Rxc7+ King-move (because black knight is pinned) 3. Bxd5 and again White is up material
But Black can play something else:
1.Rc1! Nb5 (to cover rook and exchange) But White has another strong move here.
2. Rc6! Now white rook is covered, but neither the black rook or the black knight is very safe. If the black knight moves the black rook is lost. And if the black rook trades itself of for the white rook and hoping to save the knight, it doesn´t work because of this:
2. ...Rxc6 dxc6+ and the black knight falls next move and the white pawns on the queenside threatens to promote and White is winning.
I believe this is the solution to the puzzle unless I´ve overlooked a Black defensive ressource-move that only Stockfish would find. ;)
Rc1,Kb5 2)Rc5... black has to move the knight and lose rock or if...Rxc5 3) dc5 + and black loses the knight
I'm gonna offer a pawn trade g4. If he takes it, I slide to open file dependant on if he moves k. I'm not worried about rook or knight. If N takes either pawn B takes. If you put Rc1 you pin the knight. If it moves you win the game.
Rc1 paralyses Black's rook and knight
Mr. Fish do you recommend playing chess on the terlet to improve elo?
Bishop to C4 will be my next move if I was white
KEEP THEM COMING MR. STOCKFISH !!! LOVE YOU ❤
1. Rc1 Nb5 2.Rc6 Rxc6 3. dxc6+ Ke7 4.axb5
nice covering
Tc1 Sb5 Tc6! If Sd5 then Ld5 with check
the terms Turm Springer Läufer are different in English than in German.
Turm = Rook --> Tc1 = Rc1
Springer = Knight --> Sb5 = Nb5 (K for King)
Läufer = Bishop --> Ld5 = Bd5
Queen = Dame, Q = D
That's it. Those are the terms. Abbreviations (Abkürzungen)
Rook c1
Nice
Bc4
For the puzzle, Rc1 will simply win a knight
Rc1
Rc1 is right. Bc4 leads to Ke4, saving it
stockfish, you are brilliant
Rc1
Rc1 ... Then comes Nxd5 then if Bxd5 Rxc1
Like it.
Bishop to C4
Ne4 will save the knight
Tc1.
If you put Rook on C1 the knight can take pawn on D5, yes bishop on B3 can take Knight but then black Rook on C7 will have an opening to take Rook on C1. And there for Black is winning
I believe you´re wrong in your evaluation. In that variation it is White that wins and not Black. Why? Because that knight is pinned to it´s king if it takes on d5, leaving White with the strong replies 1. Bxd5+! King-move(can´t cover bishop) 2. Rxc7 and White is up a ton of material. Or 1. Rxc7+ King-move (because black knight is pinned by white bishop) 2. Bxd5 and again White is up a ton of material. So what´s wrong with White´s initial move 1. Rc1 ??
