The Tarawih prayer, according to the Shafi’i school of Islamic law, is a recommended Sunnah mu’akkadah (emphasized Sunnah) prayer performed during the holy month of Ramadan. Both men and women are encouraged to observe it. Here are the details for performing Tarawih according to the Shafi’i tradition: Number of Cycles (Raka’at): The Tarawih prayer consists of twenty cycles (raka’at) in total. The first eight cycles are considered Sunnah mu’akkadah (strongly recommended), while the remaining twelve cycles are recommended (mustahab). Initially, during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it was performed in eight cycles. However, due to the lengthy recitation (about one hundred verses per cycle), the number of cycles increased to twenty over time. The second caliph, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, established the practice of twenty cycles, which continued during the time of the caliphs 'Uthman and 'Ali and in later periods. Recitation and Rules: The imam leading the Tarawih prayer should adhere to proper rules of Qur’anic recitation and maintain the rule of ta’dil-i arkan (balance in recitation). Reciting the entire Qur’an during Tarawih prayers throughout Ramadan (approximately one page per cycle) is a commendable practice. Timing: The time for Tarawih begins after performing the obligatory cycles of the Night prayer (Isha) and continues until the time of the Dawn prayer (Fajr). If one misses the Tarawih prayer during its appointed time, it can be made up later. Performing Tarawih: Tarawih is performed in pairs of cycles (raka’at). Closing a pair of cycles with salams is essential for the validity of the Tarawih prayer. The intention should be explicitly stated as either “to perform the Tarawih prayer” or “to perform the Ramadan night vigil.” Remember that performing Tarawih in congregation (either at home or in mosques) enhances the spiritual rewards, but individual prayers are also valid. May your Tarawih prayers be blessed during this sacred month! 🌙🙏

No brother it is not the weak Hathith. It's authentic. But the thing is, it's clearly mentioned that Prophet Alaihissalam used to pray 11 rakaas both in Ramadan and non Ramadan. Some mosque emphasised Tarawee more than obligatory prayer. For an example in my local mosque imam would perform Isha Salah in hurry reciting very short chapters while they would complete a whole jazz for Tarawee! Doesn’t obligatory prayer should be prayed with Khushu and given importance over non-obligatory one!
Yes but Fardh salah are not supposed to be long whereas taraweeh is optional so it can be long. If you want that long khushu of prayer then pray your sunnah, you can make sajda for 5 min straight

As an ordinary muslim i dont believe praying 20 rakaats tarawi behind an emam is an innovation. If anything it is a tome to listen to the holy Quran. Its bowing to Allah and not to anything else. It is a night prayer. Shaytaans are using there best approach to cause doubt and disunity amongst muslims. Whatever, it is ibadat to Allah Paak who will judge correctly. Stop saying reading namaaz is an innovation.
For 1400 years, ALL Muslims read 20 rakahs Tarawih SUNNAH. All 4 Schools of Fiqh /Madhabs are in agreement that Tarawih = 20. Malikis pray 20 Tarawih SUNNAH + 16 nafl = 36. 36 + 3 witr =39 39 + 2 sunnah = 41. Don't believe what Salafis say! They are like the Qadianis & Shia.
Sahih al-Bukhari 2010 'Abdur Rahman bin 'Abdul Qari said, "I went out in the company of 'Umar bin Al-Khattab one night in Ramadan to the mosque and found the people praying in different groups. A man praying alone or a man praying with a little group behind him. So, 'Umar said, 'In my opinion I would better collect these (people) under the leadership of one Qari (Reciter) (i.e. let them pray in congregation!)'. So, he made up his mind to congregate them behind Ubai bin Ka'b. Then on another night I went again in his company and the people were praying behind their reciter. On that, 'Umar remarked, 'What an excellent Bid'a (i.e. innovation in religion) this is; but the prayer which they do not perform, but sleep at its time is better than the one they are offering.' He meant the prayer in the last part of the night. (In those days) people used to pray in the early part of the night."
in Taymiyah (Rahmatullah Alavh) said in Maimoo' al-Fataawa (23/112): "It is PROVEN that UBAYY In KA'B Radhiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu (Google his status) used to LEAD the people (SAHABAH) in praying TWENTY rak'ahs in qiyaam IN Ramadaan, and he used to pray Wit with THREE rak'ahs. There is CONSENSUS with the scholars that THIS IS THE SUNNAH, because he (Ameerul Mu'Mineen UMAR&-Google him if you don't know his status) ESTABLISHED that AMONG the MUHAAJIREEN AND ANSAAR (Google them if you don't know their status) and • NO ONE OBJECTED to that. Others (Malakis) regarded it as mustahabb to pray thirty-nine rak'ahs (Malakis pray 36 Rakaats Taraweeh with 3 Wit hence 36+3=39) based on the fact that this was the practice of the people of Madeenah in the past."
8 rakats as the prophet saw did....is more than acceptable. And we do we follow??? so the best example is prophet saw...if you wish to read 20 there no issues with that either...but people need to stop sounding like 8 rakats is the forbidden!!! this is not obligatory... this is for extra reward and not sunnah..
Who do we follow!!!! The whole Muslim Ummah for 1400 years has been in agreement that Tarawih is 20 rakahs Sunnah. But you ppl prefer to follow a newly invented religion called Salafiyyah which has changed Islam and opposes what the Muslims have believed!!! Your beliefs regarding this are the same as the Qadianis and the Shia.

Narrated Zaid bin Thabit: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) made a small room (with a palm leaf mat). Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came out (of his house) and prayed in it. Some men came and joined him in his prayer. Then again the next night they came for the prayer, but Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) delayed and did not come out to them. So they raised their voices and knocked the door with small stones (to draw his attention). He came out to them in a state of anger, saying, "You are still insisting (on your deed, i.e. Tarawih prayer in the mosque) that I thought that this prayer (Tarawih) might become obligatory on you. So you people, offer this prayer at your homes, for the best prayer of a person is the one which he offers at home, except the compulsory (congregational) prayer."

Even the leaders of wahabi school agree it's 20 rakat is not bidah but new gen Sheikhs saying it's innovation and Wrong.
People who say Umar invented this taraweh.. Ask your self
1. Who is umar ra.
2. Was he among the plp the prophet mentioned who were promised janah ...
3. Umar ra is no any ordinary man but our prophets companion likee the inner circle!!!! You think he and Ali ra would be wrong in such decisions and the ulama of now are right ....
Alhamduli’lah
How manny rakah prophet (pbuh) prayed in congregation.

For 1400 yrs ago there's no hadith bukhari to messed up the guidance of Allah the Quran. May Allah give us knowledge understanding of Quran. Not the hadith of somebody that made a books after almost 200yrs after the prophet.a s. May Allah bring us back to his Guidance the Quran❤❤❤
It's not the hadith of Bukhari but Prophet's. He has collected hadiths of Prophet from true sources and strong chain from sahabas and made a book.
MAY ALLAH SWT GRANT US
As an ordinary muslim i dont believe praying 20 rakaats tarawi behind an emam is an innovation.
🇵🇸🤲🏼🇵🇸🤲🏼🇵🇸
For 1400 years, ALL Muslims read 20 rakahs Tarawih SUNNAH.
All 4 Schools of Fiqh /Madhabs are in agreement that Tarawih = 20.
Malikis pray 20 Tarawih SUNNAH + 16 nafl = 36.
36 + 3 witr =39
39 + 2 sunnah = 41.
Don't believe what Salafis say!
They are like the Qadianis & Shia.
The people have made it obligation. There's more people who come for tarawee than fair. It's a biddah. Even according to omar bin khattab.
According to sahih muslim it is a biddah started by Omar. The Porphet stopped coming after the 3rd day
Where’s the reference, your saying a huge claim fear Allah (subhan a wa tala)
Astagfirullah brother ....you made a buhtan on prophet beloved sahabi 🥺
Don’t speak without knowledge
SHIA ALERT 🚨 👆🏻
Sahih al-Bukhari 2010
'Abdur Rahman bin 'Abdul Qari said,
"I went out in the company of 'Umar bin Al-Khattab one night in Ramadan to the mosque and found the people praying in different groups. (In those days) people used to pray in the early part of the night."
in Taymiyah (Rahmatullah Alavh) said in Maimoo' al-Fataawa (23/112):
"It is PROVEN that UBAYY In KA'B
Radhiyallahu Ta'ala Anhu (Google his status) used to LEAD the people (SAHABAH) in praying
TWENTY rak'ahs in qiyaam IN Ramadaan, and he used to pray Wit with THREE rak'ahs.
