Neither did I, the US have always been a great neighbor. I'm a retired flight attendant. When we had prisoners on board, the shackles had to be removed before they boarded. This was for safety reasons, if the plane goes down they can't safely evacuate. This is simple, human decency.

I read comments on a news channel about the deportees arriving in Brazil and complaining about the shackles and being refused to go to the toilets, had no water or food, etc… and the comments were terribly cruel too. I am trying to stop giving any business to the oligarchs, so no buying through Amazon, not using Facebook and Twitter. I know it a very small gesture but it makes me feel better. I will admit I have never used Twitter and only use Facebook for Marketplace on occasion. I never liked the craziness social media seems to nurture, so I stayed away.

I was born in 1949 so far, other than the sound and fury this is not the worst of times. Look up 1968 when there were riots and marches in many cities large and small. Whole neighborhoods, the poorest ones usually, burned down as the firefighters stood by. There have been other periods too as when I lived in LA during the Rodney King riots. If the Mad King continues and amplifies his actions then within six months to a year I could imagine much more violence. On the other the forces of order and control are very different from the past. I am not sure if it is unamerican as the USA put American Japanese families in concentration camps during ww2, yes right here in USA soil, complete families, children of those families born here..we captured blacks in Africa and took them away from their homes and brought them here in chains to be our slaves, these are just 2 examples there are more..I think people,might be waking up to what the USA has been up to and perhaps that we have misunderstood the good men that have been our leaders and have tried to bring equality to all citizens because we were only worried about our pocket books.😮

I am trying to stop giving any business to the oligarchs, so no buying through Amazon, not using Facebook and Twitter.
I know it a very small gesture but it makes me feel better.
I will admit I have never used Twitter and only use Facebook for Marketplace on occasion.
I never liked the craziness social media seems to nurture, so I stayed away.

Good for you! I deleted my Facebook account yesterday, don't have twitler and never will. Trying my best to find alternatives to Amazon. Really and truly, hitting them in the pocket book is the best way to send a clear message.
