I'm asking because I also swapped these and can stand much better and more safely because my feet are on the ground better, but I got back pain in my upper back on the first few rides. Either I still have to get used to it, or I'm sitting too low now, and so is my upper body. But I also set the rear damper setting a notch harder and the rear was raised a bit, maybe that's the problem too.
In Vietnam you can get your seat height changed in one of the many trim shops for around $10 and buy a new motor bike for not much more than the price of that seat, Yamaha are taking the Piss!
Can't find this one on the Yamaha page. Is it the one for the xmax 300? For whatever reason Yamaha claims it's not compatible with the tricity. Would you happend to have the part nr on the one you fitted?
@@Logian007No surprise. They also have the rear rack base for the XMax, which is more practical because you can fit a back rest or the plate for a top case with only three bolts, on it. They say it is not compatible with Tricity. And it is way cheaper than the rack they say it is compatible, but that one is one piece, for top box only, and it's huge.
Can you select the lower seat, when buying a new Yamaha Tricity 300, within the normal price of the motorcycle trike? Or do you have to buy the Tricity 300 with a standard seat, then buy the lower seat as an extra option? Yamaha should give you the choice of the standard or Lower seat versions, within the price of a new Tricity 300 motorcycle trike. How much does a new Standard Seat cost, for the Tricity 300 Motorcycle Trike too?
Yes, you have to pay „extra“ for the seat. You will get the original seat plus the comfort or low seat. You have to sell the other seat that you don’t need…
My wife wants a Tricity too with lower seat. She is also 1.72m. But is this scooter manageable from a woman? I mean the front part of this scooter is massive compared to Peugeot Metropolis or MP3… any experiences?

Hi peterdonnelly6804 the tricity 300 only has a 47cm track so it can fall over if not careful. Myself i find it more safe to be able to flat foot when stationary especially when carrying a passenger. But it’s all personal choice. Regards PSR

The scooter can be riden on a B license or car license but if you are coming from a car with no experience of a motorcycle i strongly recommend having some lessons this is a 239kg scooter and is no light weight and you will enjoy it more. @@richhughes7450 Good to hear you enjoy motorcycles as for power of the yamaha tricity 300 it will not pull your arms out of your socket’s that’s for sure but can certainly get you away from the traffic lights and away from the cars. We find it very comfortable at between 80-100 kmh. Regards PSR
Hi @allanarnold3619 Belt drive CVT. CVTs are a much easier, which means they are simpler, faster to assemble, and require less money to produce. Even Performance: Given that they are not bound by a static setup. Regards PSR.
In my opinion, safety and safe feeling comes first. With less height I am now able as you have shown to reich the floor better than before

I had the lower seat on originaly and replaced it with the standard seat which i find more comfortable, nearly 5k miles in 6 months.

It is a Yamaha Xmax low seat. Anyway, having the front suspension locking system, the need to put feet down is less often.

congratulations, a good decision. However, not every helmet fits under the low seat.
